Great features, DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY

I believe the concept of having your own cloud storage is great. However, WD My Cloud DOES NOT PROVIDE consistent functionality. It is very frustrating that this product fails every time I need it most.
I was very exited to get it, but unfortunately it has been the worst technology investment I have made.
I will be returning it ASAP.
What's great about it: The features
What's not so great: It worked the first day, has not worked whenever I need it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

will this work with Directv to extend the DVR capacity ?

I have quite a bit of material saved on my Directv DVR that I would like to move to another storage device allowing me to record more stuff. Is this the answer to my problem ? Would something else work better ?
I own the WD - My Cloud 2TB, and I hate it with a passion. Please take my advise and find a different product. Don't want other people to go through this pain.
