been serviced once, still doesn't work right

i've been dealing with samsung for 2 months about this awful tv. the screen has been flickering black since the first day. also the optical audio output doesn't work (yes, i've changed the sound option in the settings). since buying this tv when it first came out on the market, i've read reviews of other tv's of the same model doing the same thing. a samsung service tech finally came after he missed his first 2 appointments and replaced a part. before he left the screen was started flickering again. he then picked up his tools, walked out of my house and drove off without saying a word. i thought maybe he was going out to get another part but he just left without telling me anything.
i called samsung the next day to schedule another service (you will need the patience of a saint to work with samsung customer service) and they ran me through the ringer again, asking me the same mundane questions that i had answered numerous times the first time i called for service. i called the service center and left a message. i called again a few days later and left another message. over the course of a few weeks i called this place a considerable number of times and the only thing i spoke to was a voicemail. i called samsung customer service again and asked them about it and i was told that the service ticket was cancelled. really?
so now i'm on my third round with samsung. low quality tv, service tech was incompetent and rude, awful samsung customer service. i wish i had never bought this thing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good when it works

I have had this tv about 2 weeks. I installed it and calibrated it myself (have a background in tvs). when the tv works it looks great for the money, but that is when it works. When using the built in apps and even some external steaming devices the screen will flicker black for multiple frames. Then to an extreme it will just give me a black screen and no sound. Though menu will still come up. I have gone through samsung support 5 times and they claim nothing is wrong but the problem consists. the wifi card this tv has is sub par at best i have 150 mbps internet speed testing my laptop and phone right next to the tv i get around 90mbps (router is across the house through multiple walls of different material but obviously way more band width than i will ever use at one time) The tv speed tested at around on average 9mbps which is barely enough to even stream 1080p. Maybe mine is just defective but i will be returning it today. Though despite all that when it does work man does it work well picture quality is top notch for this price range.

Screen flickering black, randomly turns off/on

My tv also flashes black screens and I have also contacted Samsung customer service several times and so far they have been no help. A part has been replaced and before the service guy left it started flickering the black screen again. I'm on my third service request and Samsung is on my last nerve. I feel bad for your (our) bad luck with this awful tv and customer service but glad I'm not the only one. Maybe Samsung will step up and stand behind their product and offer good customer service but so far Samsung customer service has been as low quality as this model tv.
