This Oral-B Pro 6000 electric toothbrush with Bluetooth allows the brush to connect with your smartphone to give you real-time feedback on your brushing habits. The advanced design of the CrossAction toothbrush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees, and 3D cleaning action oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove more plaque. The pressure sensor lights up, if you brush too hard to prevent harmful over-brushing and there are 5 modes and a timer to help you brush for a dentist-recommended time.

Clean teeth but Noisy
on May 17, 2017

Ok to be fair I'm comparing the OralB 6000 to the Sonicare HealthyWhite+, which is slight less expensive, but I've been using Sonicare TB's for years. At first the novelty of a BT toothbrush was intriguing. But before installing the app I decided to see how I liked the TB alone. My first impression was that it is much more noisy than my sonicare, which just vibrates,vs the spinning action of the Oral B. I'm accustomed to my sonicare changing it's buzz every 30s to tell me to move to a different quadrant; the Oral B both blinks and buzzes to notify me, but when initially used it seems to continue for ever (not telling me to stop)....but I can count to 4 so I knew I was done.
The app instructions indicate that I'm going to look at the app while I'm brushing and that I can stand my phone in the included tooth brushes case to hold it up. I could find no way to do this comfortably. The app does track how long you've brushed, but trying to use while brushing .... not happening, just caused me to make a mess as the moving brush left my mouth.
I do think brush does a good job cleaning, probably about the same as my Sonicare, but the Braun is noisier and messier, I can't say I find the app particularly useful, maybe if it sent glowing results to my dentist, and I was then praised for my brushing.... But even thought I'm a gadget guy the combination did not work for me ...keep trying.

Long Time Panasonic Shaver User

I think this is either the fourth or 5th Panasonic Shaver I've owned. The shave it gives is excellent, at probably a 1/3 of what I spent for the top of the line Lamdash model several years ago (still had box).
This less expensive version performs excellent. In particular the trimmer feels more stable and is more maneuverable than it's predecessor. The weight of the two shavers is very similar, although I liked the battery charge meter on my old shaver, I don't know I'd pay much for the feature, especially as the new ARC is likely to get placed in its plug in wall stand (yes, the charger for the unit get plugged into the wall and the Shaver clicks into the stand, red led tell you it's charging). All previous Panasonic's I've had had had a corded charger that rested on the sink, now it's attached to the wall plug.
My previous version operated at 13K rpm, the new ARC operates at 10K, the new ARC is more quite than the old and does not have the high pitch whine of the old unit (other than sound, I could not tell there was a difference). Both shaved equally well, the newer ARC has 3 rows of blades , the older had 4, the 3 rows being somewhat more compact (see pic) were a little easier to work with under the nose. AIl though this is a wet/dry shaver I've always used my Panasonics as dry shavers, the micro thin heads do a great job on two day stubble and with the trimmer, can easily tame a week old growth. The trimmer on the new model worked excellent, it was exactly the same size as on my previous version.
All told for the price the shaver performed near flawlessly, I like Panasonic's self cleaning shavers, but if it's not in your budget you won't be sorry getting/using this shaver.

Color me impressed

I've had a Kirby G5 for years. The thing is heavy (all metal) but reliable, the HEPA bags can easily add another 10 lbs of dirt. On carpets the Kirby does a respectable job. But as I've been removing all the carpet in my house and replacing them with wood and tile; there is less and less where the Kirby is good. The Shark DuoClean does a FANTASTIC job on hardwood, and tile floors. The little spinning roller thing (see picture) on the front gets up dust like I can't believe. In the morning sun all the dust on my wood floors, shine in the sunlight, my Kirby does a good job of redistributing the dust, but not getting it sucked up. The Shark on the other hand passes over the dust leaving a clean strip of floor behind. Same with my wood looking tile floors, the grittiness the Kirby always left behind is a thing of the past (YEA).
If that all there was too it I'd be most pleased, but then I go to use the Shark on my still carpeted stairs, and the back breaking work of lugging and balancing theKirby on the stairs is gone. The Shark is a fraction of the weight (probably 1/4), and the wand reached more than half way up the stairs, so after finishing 1/2 I take the Shark to the top and work my way down...No balancing, and it's just as effective. And the handy little tools make getting behind and under things much easier. The only thing I wish it had was an attachement to better clean ceiling fans, the bright LED lights on the front are also a nice touch. And it's easy to empty the dust container, unlike the Kirby's expensive bags that I don't want to empty (replace); the Shark will likely get empties with each use, just that easy. It's also powerfully self propelled (if you want it to be).
The lift off canister is a nice touch, but the job it does on hard floors makes this a most impressive vacuum cleaner.

Good for it's Size
on March 26, 2017

I've tried a lot of BT speakers, each must be considered differently, based the purpose for each. BT speakers that plug into the wall are different than portable battery powered speakers. And now that several companies have "water proof" speakers, that you can take to the beach, and use without worry outside in the elements, I see a new distinction.
Sony's new XB10 is about 1/2 the size of a can of soda (12oz 355ml), and for it's size it packs a punch, delivering reasonable bass for it's size. I believe sony will have 4 speakers in this series, this being the smallest. I thought comparing it the the JBL Flip 3, a speaker twice it's size but about it's price was a fair comparison. The Sony's bass was a little thinner, the hight's were similar, although the Sony high's we much more directional, but the JBL's midrange was much fuller. I also compared the Sony to a OontZ Angle 3 (Cambridge) where it was the clear winner, much better bass ans an over all better tone and it could be driven much louder before it distorted. The JBL could be driven much louder than the XB10, but I'd not recommend driving either at "10" cranked fully up as both started distorting when they max output.
The Sony won't quite fit in your pocket pants, but it has an attached ring t help you carry it. Sony says 2 XB10's can independently paired to a device to give you true stereo output, but I only had one to test. This is a great feature, I have 2 JBL Flip 3's for just this purpose, and when they stay connected they works great (which is to say they don't always stay paired), I'm sure 2 XB10's would provide plenty of sound to fill a mid-sized room (bedroom, dorm, kitchen...).
I liked the Sony for it's size, it's supposed to get 16 hours from a single charge (I've not gotten more than 8 hrs from my Flip 3), so 16 hours is pretty respectable. The Sony also supports NFC, which I could not test, and it comes in several colors. When paired with a phone the speaker can be used be used as a speaker phone, this worked very nicely, the person I was talking to said they could not tell I was on a external speaker, and that the sound was quite natural (no echo). This may be a feature that's quite handy if your listening to tunes and a call comes in, it mutes the sound and the 2-way voice kicks in. IMHO the XB-10 is a good speaker for the size and price, I'm sure it's bigger brothers provide better sound in a larger, more expensive package. I'd consider getting 2 XB-10's for real stereo output over a bigger mono speaker.

Very promising

First I run a home based technical business. I've got a 150mb internet link from Cox. I had been using the Nighthawk X6 R8000, a most excellent router. I was hoping the linksys Velop would improve my household coverage and speed, as well as offer the same features I need/use on my existing router.
I started by downloading the iOS Velop app, to do the installation; This and the complementary Android app are the only mechanisms available to set up the Velop Network (no web interface available). Seemed simple enough, I consider myself to be somewhat of a networking expert., I was sure their app would guide me through the process easily. Well I got the first node to talk to the app, to see my router and then promptly hang over and over when doing the "magic" network setup..... I called a help line and eventually talked a Velop networking expert.. I explained my situation and he suggested I tell my phone to "forget" the connections to to all of my existing home network connections (6, but I won't get in to why that is). Once this was done I was able to get first Velop node, connected to my cable modem, and to get it's wi-fi network up and operational (yea). The Velop tech help me get the other two nodes set up (each 60+ feet from the primary node and about that far from each other. Note, each Velop node has 2 Ethernet connections, which can allow the nodes to either communicate to each other via wi-fi meshing or via wired ethernet (obviously potentially faster). As I have wired ethernet connectivity through most of my house this sounded like a great Idea. I then set up the third node, where I ran across a bit of an issue, where I wanted to install it I had a powers strip with one available outlet, but the power brick on the Velop nodes are like 2.25"x2.25", it would not fit, no Idea why the "Velop wall wart" is so large, it's quite light and only supplies 2A output. I'm pointing this out as this is a potential stumbling block to any installer.
I then told the Velop Tech that I wanted to set the network devices to live below #.#.#.100 on my network, as I had all wired hardware there and all DNS assigned addresses above .100; a long pause; this might not currently be possible, I was told. He help me change the IP address of the primary node, so that it would not conflict with my Nighthawk router; this was done through a currently, non-documented web interface to the primary node. when we tried to do the same to the secondary nodes the page that made this possible on the primary node did not exist to the secondary nodes. Oh well this was not a show stopper, after configuring the DNS address range I could work around this. I then asked about port forwarding, again on a non-documented web interface, I found what was needed, but my current set up required I forward about 32 ports (VNC & RDP access for my business); I was told I could only forward 16 ports (currently) - this was a show stopper, without creating new security concerns.
Well at that point I decided to test the wi-fi throughput (btw: currently all Velop nodes/networks are required to used the same SSID; (it looks like this could be changed in the future from the hidden web interface - but it was recommended I not do so, at it was not "supported" (the whole web interface is not supported). Well on my Nighthawk network I ran speedtest on it's AC network and achieved 92mbps, on the Velop network from the same positions (distance) i achieved 95mbps. I tried the test more than once and it was consistently faster when I was closest to the primary node; when I moved to the hardwired second node, my results were the same 95mbps, when I moved to the third node, which could only communicate to the primary node via wi-fi, at a distance of 60'ish feet my speed dropped to about 20mbps, yet I showed a 5 bar connections to that node (not all that surprising).
I asked the tech if there were any tools to determine the throughput from node to node or signal strength from node to node -NO not currently. I found this to be most dissapointing, as I thought the Velop network was supposed to help you choose the best locations for the nodes within your home...well not yet, but it's apparently planned.
Well, the speeds achieved are as fast as I'd expect for AC networking today. The tools to set the system up are not yet complete, and the capabilities, compared to a high end router, are not yet fulfilled, and lacking in several areas. As this is nearly a $500 system, I think Linksys needs to offer all of the capabilities that they offer (and expose) on their high end routers (like their WRT3200ACM which is comparable to my Nighthawk). Maybe Linksys can find a happy medium between their app based setup and what an expert needs, and the tools to get the system optimized, but until they do the Velop network, in my opinion is not ready.

Very Powerful, but LOUD
on December 25, 2016

from Phoenix.AZ
My first step after unpacking was to fill the blender to the max liquid line and give it a spin to make sure it was "clean". After selecting the Frozen Drink button, the motor came to life and really caught my attention. It 's quite loud, but you could clearly see a real vortex in the spinning water, with the slight problem that it was leaking from the well sealed top (which I rechecked to make sure it was well closed - it was). I tried again, and still it leaked; I removed about 8oz of water and it no loner leaked - my advise, consider it a 80oz pitcher not a 88oz.
I then proceeded to make ice cream smooth with mint chocolate chip ice cream, a little half and half and a few ice cubes. I selected the AutoIQ function for smoothy and it went to work for about 1:10, pulsing one and off, loudly. The bottom of the unit has suctions cups on it so it stayed firmly in place. The smoothy emerged, with no real sign of chocolate chip, just dots the size of vanilla bean seeds. Just what I'd hoped for - a job well done by the Ninja.
Clean-up was easy just half fill the blender with water, turn it on, for a few seconds and the blender looked clean, carefully remove the very sharp blades, and dry, which is pretty easy as it's easy to reach in side the well sized blender.
I later made an adult beverage in the included 16oz "bullet" cup and it returns a wonderful frozen concoction, with the ice fairly evenly crushed. A few lumps remained, that a few extra pulses remedied. Except for the loudness a good experience.
They say the blender is top shelf dishwasher safe, but getting it upright on the top shelf, was not going to happen in my dish washer. The duo package includes 3 ninja cups (1*18oz & 2*24oz) thes are very sturdy solid cups.
I would have given the blender 5 stars if it were not for the fill max leak, and the loudness of the unit. This is a very powerful blender that can certainly crush much of it's competition (pun intended); is seems very well build, but it is noisy, but I would recommend it as would expect it to liquify just about anything.

Great Tablet - Beautiful Screen
on November 12, 2016

from Phoenix.AZ
I bought this on the pre-BF sale, saved $400. Get the pen when you make the purchase and save another $20 on the pen (which comes with 5 different tips, each a different "pencil softness" - see image). I have 1st generation Microsoft Surface pro (i5 G3); I was concerned about m3 processor, but it (with improved GPU) is much better than the original and the battery life is about 4x better (original ~2.5h, this ~10h). The keyboard is just ok, it is backlit, and a little wider key spacing than previous; the "grey felt" look is nice, but key travel still limited. The latest pen has greatly improved touch sensitivity it is "marvolous"... using pen as mouse on screen is sensational. BTW: I can't believe new MacBooks don't have a touch screen - the screen viewing angle on the is tablet are exceptional combined with the new pen - a new computing experience. m3 processor is plenty powerful for most activities; Using Chrome Browser, I could easily open 6-8 tabs without noticing any sluggishness, at the same time run iTunes in the background. All told it's a great combination, and it's 100% quiet - NO FAN - and little noticible heat. behind the open kickstand you can feel warmth, but nothing like computers with older generation i3,i5 & i7 CPUs. If your lucky enought to get one fro this price, try the new Microsoft "inking" app, which combined with MS-Note provive a powerful on-screen writing combination.

A Promising Start

Sorry, I'm not sure how to help with that.
The 9 words Google Home is most likely to respond with; but that being said if you're familiar with casting to a Chromecast (video or audio) device extending Google Home to your Television or Audio System (chromecase equipped) is quite nice. BUT if want to change someting you MUST remember to tell Google Home to out to that device (or group of devices) over and over. If there's a way to tell it what the default output should be I've not found a way to do that yet, and that is what is (Currently) frustrating about Google Home, what instruction "Should" it currently understand. The instructions list about 40 phrases to get you started, but it's really not clear you need to say, and when it does not understand you get the above, and sometimes it says it's still learning. I have a number of home automation products (plugs and switched for Belkin's Wemo), some Chamberlin stuff in my garage, none of what interface with Amazon Home at this point, I'm sure they will expand what they can work with over time; so if you don't have Nest, Philips Hue Bulbs or a Samsung Smarthings hub, little home automation can be done.
The interface to Chromecast works quite nicely, for multi-room audio there are real possibilities. The quality of sound from the 6" x 5" device is darn good for it's size, I personally wish you could directly connect powered speakers, but chromecast audio solves the problem, and offers some non-wired flexibility.
I did find that if you say "OK Google, Spin" it will perform some sort of random sound function (singing, or other) no idea how many random functions there are.
I imagine that Google Home will continue to improve unless Google does not keep with it; it certainly has possibilities, but today Amazon's Echo can interface with more automation devices/systems, and it's easier to discover what Echo expects to listen for. You can go to: g.co/home/explore to get more "interface" instructions, from there you might be able to determine if Google Home will be useful to you, and it could be improving, today it's a promising (somewhat expensive toy) that has potential.

I compared this last generation iPad mini to to the newer version, and I could not justify the price difference fro the new version. Except for the fingerprint security (which may be a bigger deal on a Phone vs iPad) I could not justify the price difference (especially when this versions was $100 off list just before Christmas). Using with Logitech ultra thin case and BT keyboard - great combination.

I've had the unit for about a month now and, in my opinion, here are the hits and misses.
#1 Screen is Excellent; I also have ASUS, ACER & HP Chromebooks, this is by far the best.
#2 Keyboard is very Good; wish it was backlit, but feel is very good as Sony Vios
#3 Trackpad is excellent
#4 Networking excellent using with Netgear Night Hawk x6; AC is VERY fast, faster than ASUS, ACER & HP Chromebooks
#5 Memory, 4GB can run 10+ tabs w/o issues
#6 1TB Space on gDrive (for 2 years) - great deal
#7 Battery life; getting 8-10h depending on usage - great for size
Misses: No Touch Screen, but you knew that - maybe next generation
SSD Size, wish it was larger; tested with 64, 128 & 256GB SDXC cards - no problems except getting software to store files on SD card
Case - Somewhat hard to open, cover fits very snugly/tight, somewhat hard to pry open; top and bottom looks same with exactly fit all the way around

Is the power pack included in the Surface Pro 4 ?

A AC/DC power adapter is included; about 2' to wall about 6' from adapter to tablet (with quick release magnetic connector) prevents kicking cord and pulling tablet to floor accidentally (a nice feature).

Is there an option to increase to 256Gb?

You can increase storage with Micro SD card, but this is not exactly the same as increasing on board SSD, which you cannot (reasonably) do.
On the other hand you can add a 128GB Micro SD card for about $50, 200GB for about $70 and 256GB for $150 (w/prices dropping every month).
You could also use a external SSD drive like the Samsung T3, and add 250GB for ~$100 or 500Gb for <$175 or 1TB for ~$350 this is a little bulkier but offers higher performance and greater reliability - it would be my choice if your interested in durability (and you can easily share it/take it to anther machine).

Does it come with any bloatware? Stuff other than a clean windows install that you don't need?

Very little, not like buying an ACER - additional apps include the "Inking" aps that not part of Std Win 10 release, but you appreciate having it.

Can i use this device as Bluetooth speaker?

No, but you can "cast" to it, if allears as a Chroma Cast device, so from a browser, with the chrome cast extension you could send it audio.

what is the best and fastest processor out there for and android tablet?

I want to buy an android tablet with the best processor thats offered yet, and dual camera would be nice but if not then definitely rear cam., has to have adobe flash, has to be upgrade-able to whenever the newest OS is available like right now is icecream sandwich, has to have a great responsive touch interface like the ipad, has to have the "Play Store" for apps, and it'd be nice if it had the external SD or mirco SD storage slot for expandable memory because I will probably buy the 16gb of whatever tablet has all these specifications, so help me please!! because I know theres a few tablets out there with all this specifications that I need in a tablet but which one has all these AND the best processor available???
Look for new Intel 5th generation CPU's to be hitting market very soon (Just announced at CES, Jan 2015); this new 5th generation of their i3,i5,i7 processors is specifically designed for higher performance, longer battery life tablets.
