OtterBox cases are known for great protection but with added weight and bulk. The Symmetry is lighter and slimmer than a typical OtterBox case.
The best version has a solid black hardshell bonded over a flexible rubber inner liner. It offers better protection than the version with only a thin transparent back. Light color versions soon pick up stains.
The back is smooth to make it easy to pull your phone out of your pocket. The sides have rubber for a secure grip and the rubber frame surrounding the screen lets you place your phone face down.

A Good Phone But 2017 Galaxy J3 Now Available

The 2016 Galaxy J3 was a very good phone in its price range, but it has now been replaced by the 2017 Galaxy J3. The J3 is sold under a different name by each phone carrier. Sprint calls it the Emerge. T-Mobile calls it the J3 Prime. AT&T sells it under two different names. Verizon sells its own version.
Cases: Because the 2017 J3 is sold by every major carrier, it will be easy to find nice cases. Best Buy stocks the very nice Incipio NGP case. The 2016 cases do NOT fit the 2017 J3 models so have the store staff verify you are selecting the correct case.

The new 2017 Galaxy J7 for Verizon is much improved over the 2016 model. Nice big screen for Netflix, adequate camera, and 18 hours to 24 hours on a battery charge for typical use.
The J7 offers 90% of the features of an $800 phone for a bargain price. It is GREAT deal for Verizon customers.
Best Buy sells the terrific Incipio Advanced case for the J7 with a honeycomb texture that provides a VERY secure grip on your phone.

The Incipio NGP Advanced is a great ultra-light and ultra-thin rugged case for the 2017 Galaxy J3 (sold under various names by different carriers). NOTE: It does NOT fit the 2016 Galaxy J3.
The Advanced is the more rugged version of the smooth back NGP case, adding a honeycomb texture to the sides and back of the case to provide a VERY secure grip on your phone. It is a thin layer of high quality flexible rubber so it will NOT prevent drop damage... it is designed to prevent drops.
It comes in dark colors that will look good in a year and in lighter colors that will quickly be stained by pockets and bags.

Because it is very thin it provides little protection against drop damage. Its goal is to make it almost impossible to drop your phone.

The Samsung Chromebook 3 is a great device BUT be sure to get the new version with 4gb of RAM memory and 32gb of SSD storage. The new version is the same price as the old 16gb version but it has double the storage for your files.
Best Buy puts the new 32gb version on sale at least one weekend every month for $150 or $170, truly a "best buy".
If you want a ultra light weight Chromebook with nine hours of battery life, small enough for easy carrying, the Samsung is a great choice.
Some people take a heavy $1,000 laptop to class or on a job assignment just for taking notes and sending emails. The Samsung does those basic tasks perfectly at a bargain price.

The black version Symmetry bonds a hardshell plastic back to a tough, flexible rubber inner liner. This design results in the slimmest, lightest case that provides Otterbox's great protection against drop damage. The version of the Symmetry with a transparent back cover lacks the inner rubber layer and provides less protection.
The back is smooth so your phone easily slides out of your pockets. The side panel has a rubber surface to provide a secure grip.
A firm rubber ledge around the screen lets you place your phone face down without the screen touching the surface.
No case can guarantee you won't damage your phone when you drop it on a hardwood floor or on a concrete driveway. The Symmetry shifts the odds in your favor.
But, the price is high compared with some good cases from Incipio and Ballistic.

The Incipio NGP Advanced is made with a single layer of thin and light flexible rubber. Ultra lightweight cases don't provide much protection against damage from drops.
The NGP Advanced has a "waffle" surface on the back and sides that provides a very secure grip so that you don't drop your phone.
The older version of the NGP has a smooth, somewhat slippery surface and many stores sell both the smooth NGP and the Advanced NGP.
The black case will remain black. The light color cases will get stained by your jeans pocket.

This is a very good case for the 2017 Galaxy J3 with its speaker on the side panel. It does NOT fit the 2016 Galaxy J3 with the speaker on the back panel.
Incipio makes cases that are light, thin, perfectly fitted and durable. This case has siblings that are clear, clear and red, grey, and black. I think the black case looks best on a black phone.

Some folks actually use a phone just for calling, emails and texting. A GoPhone plan provides unlimited calling and texting for $25 a month on autopay.
The Express 3 does a great job with calls, texts and emails. Music sounds good with premium headphones. Battery life gets you through the work day for calls and texts, but battery life is short for games, videos and GPS navigation.
BUT, it has ZERO available storage for large apps and large games and when memory is full apps slow down or freeze up. The camera is so-so outdoors and poor indoors.
So, it is a great phone for calls, texts, emails, Spotify and Pandora. Bad for large apps, large games, photos and making videos.

Updating Software May Help

This is, sadly, a common problem for Lenovo owners. Updating the software may help. You can press the tiny recovery button (two inches to the right of the power button) with the tip of a pen after charging the Lenovo for ten hours and unplugging the charger. It should start up and then you can go to the Windows start page. Google for the Lenovo support page and press the button for "Identify My System". When 100S comes up, there will be a list of suggested updates. Start by updating the Bios and the power software. That is likely to solve the startup problem. Later go back and update the WLAN software and Window 10 support software for better performance.

Such a promising laptop - lightweight, Windows 10, Office 2016 and Lenovo products are usually good. Unfortunately, the 32GB SSD is a MAJOR limitation on this device as it means you can't install the Windows 10 anniversary update. So you miss security updates. Even if you reset to factory defaults, you can't get enough space. And you can't upgrade the SSD and windows won't recognize a USB or SD card for updates. So sadly had to return this. If Lenovo made this with a 128GB (or even 64GB) SSD this would almost be perfect. Lenovo - if you're listening, I am ready to buy when you upgrade this model. With a bigger SSD this laptop could have been a replacement for a Microsoft Surface.

You Are Correct - 32gb NOT Enough Storage

You are correct that 32gb is not enough storage for Windows 10. Microsoft should have refused to provide a license to Lenovo to produce any Windows 10 computer with less than 64gb of storage. However, there are some "tricks" that you can Google for on how to install the Windows 10 Anniversary update on the Ideapad 100s. My Lenovo had only 8gb of open memory and with those tricks I was able to install the Anniversary Update, then delete older versions of Windows and end up with 14gb of open space. I also installed a 64gb microSD card as Drive D, so now I have over 60gb of room for photos, music, videos, etc.
This is an okay little laptop after you learn the tricks for using a 32gb eMMC flash drive. If Lenovo had invested just $10 more and installed a 64gb eMMC flash drive, this would be a GREAT small laptop.

The keyboard works great. The wireless mouse that comes with has a wheel that is so sensitive, it causes the cursor to jump to the bottom of a web page. When you use the wheel to scroll, it's as if you pressed the wheel down. When you press the wheel it IS supposed to jump down, but it jumps down by merely touching the wheel. So I just use the keyboard and am using my previous Logitech wireless mouse which is WAY better. I couldn't find the keyboard for sale by itself. But now I have to have two things plugged into the usb port, one for each device. I would recommend the keyboard but not the mouse.

Rare Problem

The Microsoft mouse with my keyboard works fine. The center wheel moves a click at a time and the cursor moves a precise amount with each click. The extremely high number of positive ratings for this keyboard and mouse package suggests that you just got the rare mouse that had a factory defect.
In my experience, it has always been very easy to exchange products at Best Buy. You should have requested a replacement.

This case fits 2017 J3 phones, such as the Emerge and Prime perfectly. There is a different version for the 2016 J3 phones that have their speaker on the back. Best Buy stores stock both versions and the staff can help you pick the correct one for your phone.

Otterbox does make cases that fit the old 2016 Galaxy J3. I wish Samsung had named the new 2017 phone the J4 to prevent this sort of confusion.

The new version of the Otterbox Symmetry is ONLY for the 2017 Galaxy J3, the J3 Emerge and the J3 Prime. It does NOT fit last year's 2016 Galaxy J3 with the speaker phone on the back panel. Many stores sell both the old 2016 Galaxy J3 and the new 2017 Galaxy J3 and sell cases for both models. Customers must be careful to look for the location of the speaker. The 2016 J3 has the speakerphone on the back panel and the 2017 J3 has the speakerphone on the upper side panel.
