I purchased this monopod because of the seventy two inch height capabilities option. This was and still is important to me. You who read this might not think this extra two to five inches over several other models makes any practical different or is a big deal. However it gives me the professional and everyday advantage I want and sometimes need when shooting still pictures or video while having my camera mounted, to the base of the monopod, that has a titled pop out view finder screen that can be titled down towards me at the proper angle when I look up. Using this combo of devices enables me to aim above and over the heads of (in most cases) other people who may be standing in front of me to get the picture or video results I desire. It can be so difficult being somewhere and not being able to shoot above other people's heads while being required to be a certain distance away from your subject. I've used shorter tripods and monopod and realized I required the additional height for this reason. I now have the confidence of knowing when I arrive at a photo or video shooting opportunity venue, I'll be able to effectively deal with and handle situations that require additional shooting height properly. I also use it for social, hobby, vacation and family situations. I am quite pleased.

I've truly always enjoyed watching this t.v. series, including this season. Watched it when originally aired. Ranks as one of the great television series of all time. Appreciated the very high production values the creators continued to maintain throughout its entire run. Stories were well presented, interesting and conveyed with humor or sensitivity, when necessary, despite having to deal with the unpleasant subject matter of the Vietnam war,

Very good time documentary. Learned a lot of new facts about these mostly women backup singers who are the subjects of this film. Excellent rare performance concert footage and stories told by those who were there and have lived through the experience. Great soundtrack too.

Positive: This bag can sufficiently and properly hold , without straining the fabric or seems, my three Sony DSC series still cameras and miscellaneous items, including a wallet, glasses, winter gloves and / or cap or cold weather hat, as needed, depending on the times of the years during which the bag is being used. Negative: Some people could misinterpret that it is "a purse" or "a male purse" because of the size. I realize it is not intended to be one though and have ignored the ignorance of those who said it was.

I bought this camera specifically because of the 63x zoom and because I also have the DSC-H300 and DSC-HX300 models in the Cyber-Shot series of point and shoot cameras. I only use this camera when the extreme zoom is necessary over the 50x zoom of the HX300. But I do agree that the focus doesn't always work quickly enough for my tastes. If SONY would combine everything on the HX300 with the H400's 63x zoom, it would be appreciated because I would only need to use one camera instead of both of these models. For now, I use both cameras and like them very much.

10 frame continuous shooting limit disappoints.

This is a wonderful camera. Especially appreciate the very long zoom capabilities, high megapixel number, extreme ease of use, in camera readable tutorial information and overall picture quality results. However, this needs to be mentioned! This was very important to me and I think it will be to others. Please be very aware! For anyone thinking this camera will shoot continuously for many frames, it does not. The most amount of frames possible to shoot continuously before the camera stops itself is ten frames. Other cameras have a maximum frame limit of one hundred. This was very disappointing to discover. Fortunately, I also own the DSC H300 Sony camera, which has the one hundred frame limit. So I use both cameras in combo when, for example, on assignment. I used this camera for zooming in really close when needed and if I need to shoot multiple frames in succession without the hassle of having the camera stop after only shooting ten frames, I will used my other previously mentioned camera. If you have the ability to acquire both cameras because you want to use very long zooms and shoot many frames in succession, I would highly recommend it. Otherwise, you owe it to yourself to be aware of this extremely and somewhat impractical low burst / continuous frame limit and plan out your shooting accordingly.

Respectfully disagree with the negativity of the previous reviewers. Purchased this product having thoroughly researched and thought about what features were of top importance. The combination of such a high megapixels number and zoom ability is currently rare for this product's price topped everything. Before and after purchase, used every feature this product has to offer the user to make sure it worked properly and meet or exceed needs. If it didn't, was prepared to return it but that was not an issue or necessary. Quite the opposite. Very satisfied. There is even an Easy mode / setting built into the camera that you can set it to and just aim, adjust the framing of the shot and click the shutter. If you don't want to use this setting, just turn it off and take the time to at least learn to totally use the camera. As with any product, you may have to learn by experimenting with the features. If you want to immediately use it on a vacation, such as a previous user mentioned they did, of course things may not go perfectly because there might be a slight learning curve until being able to operate it exactly as you wish. To blame the camera for not doing something, like focusing, without being totally familiar with the inner workings and subtleties and precisely to properly adjust the settings seems unfair for this model. You must realize the level of features, including advanced, you have here. It's like if someone drives a regular every day street car but has never driven a more advanced car. It may be possible to operate some of the features but not others. People should not be so quick to criticize this product. You have to know, as a consumer, what you are committing to purchase before do so. Educate yourself as to what is important before purchasing. Even spend some time in the store touching it and hands on using every feature. It might be beneficial. For what it has to offer the user, the price is great! Totally happy with it!

Best tripod for capable teenager?
Well. Having had experience using tripods as a teenager myself, even though it was several years ago, I would say young people are intelligent enough to be able to figure out how to use all of the ones that Best Buy carries. Most of the full size models are durable and sturdy enough to get knocked around or bumped through use. It might just be a matter of deciding how big the tripod is you want to buy. Teenagers can read the simple printed directions that often are placed in the box this equipment usually comes in when bought in the store. If you would prefer, you could go to the store and check out the selection of tripods they have there. You could also take the teen to the store and check out the selection and ask them what they want to do with it. Then you could make the best intended and suitable purchase for the specific teenager. I hope this helps!
