First let me say that I would give this fridge 4.5 stars if I could since overall, I'm very happy with it after 6 months and would recommend it to anybody. I love sleek appearance, the Food ShowCase fridge door, and easy freezer drawer handle.
There were just a few minor things that kept me from giving it a perfect rating: - Not a lot of room for tall items. I know I can rearrange the shelves, but then I'm sacrificing space and accessibility for other things. This is really only a problem right after a large grocery store run. - The middle shelf on the left door is so narrow (2-3"), it's a joke. I don't know what anyone could store there. I get that this is because of the through-the-door ice/water dispenser, but perhaps the engineering could be rethought. - Ice storage drawer is very small. For a small household, there is an ample amount of ice. If you have a large family, have friends over, or plan to fill a cooler, definitely buy an extra bag to have around because this ice maker won't keep up. Also, the ice drawer is very hard to remove. Once I got over the fear of breaking it, I got better at it. - The CoolSelect Pantry drawer spans the entire width of the fridge, so when you want to open that drawer, you have to open both doors all the way. We keep our deli meat and cheese in there and it's kind of annoying to have the fridge wide open to get in there. - The compressor has a noticeable rattly hum to it. I was aware of this based on other Samsung refrigerator reviews, but now that I've heard it myself, I see why some are put off by it. Not too big of a deal to me since the fridge is very efficient and doesn't run much. Frankly, it's only noticeable when the house is totally quiet, which is rare.
Hopefully I don't sound too nit-picky since I do really love this fridge. This is my first high end refrigerator and therefore had pretty high expectations. Just wanted to put out a thorough review for those who are preparing to drop a substantial amount of money on an appliance.
