We bought this fridge during the July 4th sale as part of whole KitchenAid set, convection oven/range, convection microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. All of the pieces are stunning and I highly recommend them all. The only piece I'm slightly disappointed with is the fridge.
The stainless steel finish, commercial grade handles, bottom freezer, French door refrigerator and two external fridge drawers are all fantastic.
Opening up the fridge you will find individual led lights mounted around the interior of the fridge providing light to every corner of refrigerator. Two shelves have under-shelf led lighting for added illumination making opening the doors an awesome experience. One shelf is a tuck-under shelf where half of the shelf can be slid under the other half making room for taller items. There are so many shelves and drawers any person can have there inner neat-freak satisfied. And that in of itself is its drawback.
It is a 25.8 cubic feet fridge which is plenty of space for anyone but when you add in numerous shelves and drawers, all of that hardware starts to take up space that could be occupied by food. Shelf space on the door is limited for two reasons: 1. Because of the two external drawers, the doors are shorter than the standard French door design refrigerator of the same size; 2. The ice maker bin is extremely large and takes up the majority of the left door leaving one small shelf at the bottom underneath it.
All of this can be overcome by wisely and creatively placing your items in the refrigerator and making good use out of the two external drawers.
Another issue I have is that the ice bin has trouble dispensing ice when there is a small amount of ice in the bin. Most ice makers have the dispensing mechanism horizontal with a sloped bottom so gravity pulls the ice down. This fridge has the mechanism vertical so that the bottom is flat. When the ice is low, the mechanism arm cannot reach the remaining ice and because the bottom is flat, the ice just sits there. This is a mild annoyance caused by design.
The compressor, which does keep everything very well controlled, is louder than a typical compressor. I've not opened the fridge to see how the compressor design is different but it is louder than any fridge I have owned before. That being said it is not loud but it is loud enough that you notice it.

I am happy with this product but parts of it are over-engineered and others seem to need improvement.
