If 30" is all you have to work with in your countertop this cooktop represents a very good compromise of burner types and layout. Their are three standard burners in different sizes and a couple of special multi-purpose burners. They are not gimmicky though - Kitchenaid is a serous foody company and the even heat burner real does heat more evenly. The super burner really boils a pot of pasta water considerably faster than even the larger std. burner. The grates dishwash beautifully and I don't know what they coated the stainless with but it cleans up to a like new condition no matter what you boilover onto it - it's a little spooky that way - all I use is soapy water or windex and a sponge or paper towel ... nothing abrasive.

Can I use this unit to replace my Jen-Air unit which uses Propane gas and has a converter kit? Do you have a black finish unit? What is Propane (LP)?
Yes LP stands for Liquid Propane. This model cooktop works well with the LP conversion kit for me.
