I really wanted this one...

I decided to get a new WiFi extender because whenever I streamed TV shows and movies (previously purchased an Amped|Wireless extender for the internet box connected to my living room TV), the buffering would 5 hours to watch a 1 hour movie!
I couldn't decide between this extender (TP-Link Wi-Fi Range Extender with AC Passthrough) or the Netgear AC750, so I bought them both. The speeds I got are listed below:
TP-LINK pass-Thru: 12 Mbps DL; 11.26 Mbps UL (highest speed recorded)
NETGEAR vAC750: 26 Mbps DL; 11.06 Mbps UL (lowest speed recorded)
Secretly, I wanted this one to work better because of the extra outlet, but I placed the Netgear ext in a further, more idyllic location and STILL got better results. Sadly, I took the TP-Link Extender back and kept the Netgear extender.
PLEASE NOTE: It's not a bad extender at all! But for an internet box or if you do a lot of streaming, you might want to go with someone with a little more power.

NETGEAR AC750 Mesh WiFi Range Extender boosts your existing WiFi by increasing your range and speed. It compatible with any standard WiFi router to deliver AC750 dual band WiFi with up to 750 Mbps. Includes Mesh features Smart Roaming and one WiFi name. Easily connect all your smart home devices to one network, no new WiFi names and passwords needed. Move from room-to-room while streaming video on your mobile device without any interruptions. A Gigabit Ethernet port provides WiFi connectivity to a wired device like Blu-ray players, game consoles, smart TVs or streaming players over your existing WiFi network. Just plug it into any outlet and experience the difference.
