Fitbit Surge Fitness Watch (Large): Built with GPS tracking and continuous, wrist-based heart rate monitoring, Surge displays real-time workout stats like distance, pace, elevation climbed, and heart rate intensity, so you can make the most of your training.
The GPS locked up during my 2 mile run at 1.2 miles. I live in the desert with super clear skies. My Garmins have never had an issue. I had hoped the other sensors would take over and still keep my run data somewhat useful but it calculated my Pace based on the full time but only on 1.2 miles showing a 19 minute mile. Fitbit community forums shows this is wide spread. This device has promise, but it looks like GPS is too much for them.

Edit: Update
January 3, 2015
I am very disappointed so far. Everything works great except for the main feature of this model. The GPS locked up at 1.2 miles of my 2 mile run and made a mess of my run data. The other sensors didnt take over. Fitbits tech support answer was restart and try again. I will use it another week and update this if it improves. But I feel compelled to let people who know who want the GPS part for running that there is an issue and wait to see if Fitbit fixes this.
Edit: I did more testing today, along my normal run route and the GPS locks up when i get near High Power Lines that cross the route. My Garmins and Phones have never had an issue on the same route. I also used The Runkeeper on my phone at the same time at these test and the app/phone had no issues. I have opened cases with Fitbit through email, but they haven't responded yet. I was able to exchange mine today and will test this new one over the next few days.
This Surge is a compelling device if it works. But since I have read that using the Charge HR and using your phone to track with the GPS and the info is the same. I usually carry my phone for music and safety anyway. So the only downside to using the charge seems like it would be lack of easy visuals on my stats while I am running.
