Excellent specs, but the screen is a deal breaker.

Picked this computer up for less than $1000 at a recent Best Buy sale. A pretty good price, I would say. I loved everything about it: the form factor, speed, HD size, RAM, ports, battery life (excellent by the way.) But the 1440x900 screen was a deal breaker for me. It was grainy, pixelated, and lacked vivid color. I found myself getting headaches staring at it for several hours a day. If you've never seen a retina screen on a Macbook, you're missing out. And I was too. So I returned it for a refund, and am eagerly awaiting the new 2016 Macbook Pros. Before you spend your hard-earned money on screen technology that's more than five years old, ask yourself if you can wait for the new MacBooks to come out this Fall. It will be worth your wait, I promise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's hard to use without a keyboard and the battery life is really really short. It was fully charged one day, I left it idle for the whole day (more than 24 hours), the battery drained to 60%. Then, it takes forever to get it fully charged again!

I expected for Mac Book Pro to have the CD-drive included but instead I have to buy it separately and the rep didn't bother advising me of this otherwise, I would've bought the other one that is already included and attached to the laptop.

I purchased this one month ago and it has a faulty display. Best Buy takes no responsibility and will not exchange it for a good one. I have left voicemails for a district manager to call me and no one has called. I will never shop at Best Buy again.

Uh, it's warranted by Apple. Take it to an Apple store and they'll happily take care of you. Pretty easy thing to do.

Use to like APPLE products the last 2 computers suck. Especially the New MacBook 12 inch. Computer has went bad for the umpteenth time. Wont recharge and won't keep a charge and yesI have tested the charger and adapters on identical devices. Its the MACBOOK. I have only had the MAC since November and no I am not hard on my computers. My last prior to the MACBOOK was a 15 MACBOOK PRO With retina, the display was replaced 4 times. IT is junk . I only went with the MACBOOK 12 inch the new MAC Pros had not been released yet. I am glad I didn't wait its over priced and junk as well. Apple is becoming junk . Wouldn't purchase another APPLE product its worse than all those Microsoft Os PCs which don't last a month and customer service is lousy. Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave.

I got this laptop home and started downloading programs like MicroSoft 360, Dropbox, etc. When starting to browse, all the programs froze and the blue circle continues to spin! Nothing happens. I'm going back to my MAC PRO!!!

I took advantage of lower prices on a 1080P TVs with the 4k TV's coming out. Samsung was not our 1st choice but pleasantly surprised in the picture quality, ease of setup and built in (antenna) tv guide. Web browsing is also possible. It is a Smart TV but we prefer our Roku 3 for streaming. There are no analog RCA Audio Out plugs for our surround sound but there is a 3.5mm head phone jack that I was able to convert to my system. There is a digital audio out for a digital sound bar. Remote buttons could be larger and placed better.

What is the battery life?
Excellent battery life. In the few days I owned this computer, I averaged 10-12 hours of battery life on a single charge. That was the best thing I loved about the Air...all day use without needing an AC outlet.
