Pros: Dual Hose, easy to install, easy to pull out filter and clean, easy to use. Cons: Loud (managed to dampen the nose with towels wrapped around the hoses), I had to empty it frequently during the summer (that's to be expected in Texas). Not easy to pull apart and clean. No replacement parts to find online and no real way to fix things yourself if something busts. (The warranty only covers the first few months if you need to send it to Whynter to get repaired. So if you miss the window you're going to have to hand out a lot of money to ship it back to them, maybe the same amount that you spent on the unit itself. The same can be said if you call around and ask someone to inspect and repair the unit.)
I bought this originally to keep one specific room in the house cooler than the others. This room is directly in the sun all day long and has three large windows. Originally, the first year the unit worked perfectly fine, even for Texas. However, after one year of year round use this product no longer works like it used to. The air that blows into the room is just kind of cool, not frigid cold like it used to be. I didn't move the product or put it in storage once, so the only thing I think of is that the unit has run out of refrigerant and there's no real way to replace that without professional help and without the proper replacement parts. I'm disappointed that I can't find parts myself and fix it because it's not a bad unit and it did it's job fine for a whole year. It's just unfortunate that after a year the refrigerant is probably all used up and there's no real way to find and buy replacement parts online. It's only logical, in my opinion, that when you put as much money into a product that you should be able to fix it with as little hassle as possible.
