We are using this as a extra refrigerator in the basement. The first thing you will want to do when you get it is turn the thermostat to full cold, don't use the recommended setting because that is way too hot. At full cold freezer will stay at 5 degrees and refrigerator will stay around 38-41 degrees depending where you place the thermometer.
I would have liked to be able to make it closer to 35 degrees and freezer at 0 but you can't do that at this price point.
Seems like it has plenty of space but the most important thing is keeping it as cold as possible without freezing things which makes food last much longer.

good dishwasher

I just replaced my GE profile with this model. This cleans as well if not better than the GE profile and was cheaper. Someone said the wash cycle was over 2 hours but a normal wash without heated dry is a little over an hour. It came with a trial bottle of jet-dry which we used but we have never used it in the past. Jet-dry really seems to make a difference with how clean and dry the dishes come out. There is some noise but very minimal and it doesn't bother use at all. Seems to be a lot of room to put dishes and has a well designed interior. Overall we are very please with this dishwasher.
What's great about it: Cleans well
What's not so great: nothing so far
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great value but room for improvement

After 20 years we decided it was time for new dishwasher. (Had a Gibson basic model.) I spent a full week researching Consumer Reports, Best Buy verified reviews, other sites and this dishwasher ranked high with users. Bought it, installed and after 2 weeks have an opinion.
Pros:
QUIET! Measured just 52 decibels from one foot away (quieter on other modes.)
LOTS OF SPRAY POINTS. In door, top rack and elsewhere. No problem cleaning.
ADJUSTABLE TOP RACK which is nice however the 4 clips can get in way of larger glasses in that area (just re-arrange to accommodate smaller space. Easy to adjust height too.
CONS: This dishwasher, even with the drying ring in bottom DOES NOT FULLY DRY THE TOP RACK OR THE SILVERWARE IN DOOR. To remedy this problem, leave silverware basket in bottom rack so it's over heating element instead of in the door. We use the HEAT setting on all washes. Only use the 1 hour wash as well. We left door closed for hours after and still did not dry all silverware or parts of glasses on top rack. We will not use a "rinse aid" chemical to dry what dishwasher should do with heating element.
CANNOT ACCESS JUST HEAT CYCLE if you wanted to run heat again to dry. In addition, the dishwasher sides and door don't fully dry. LEAVE DOOR SLIGHTLY OPENED to allow air flow for evaporation.
All in all, love the nylon racks and styling. Clean looking front and based on price, consumer reports ratings ( EXCELLENT on WASHING, ENERGY USE and VERY GOOD on NOISE) we can recommend this dishwasher after 2 weeks of use. Update later after more use. Good luck!

drying

It actually helps if you open the door right after the cycle is done. This lets the steam out which helps with drying.

Use a washer you can trust. This Samsung appliance is gentle on clothes and tough on dirt, stains and bacteria. Plus, it has the room and speed to get more laundry done in less time.

GARBAGE - Samsung - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Addwash

Brand new machine. First wash 30 minutes after delivery. Washer starts making a loud noise during the spinning cycle. Called Customer Service. They are trying to send a tech to fix a brand new machine. Told them that this is "NUTS".
Ticket escalated.
Lady calls me after 30 minutes. Asked me to call her in the morning to check availability for a new machine (looks like that they were not able to check availability today). I will update once I know more. Fun Times !
