Use Windows 7! Not compatible with Windows 8.1

If you are using Windows 8.1 the Pinnacle/Dazzle will not read your device depending on what you are using (I am using a Sony DVD-r camcorder). I had to resort to Windows 7 which now works flawlessly.

The software that comes with it will not run on Windows 8.1!
Pinnacle support was bs. No support for win 8.1
Best buy would not take it back because the software was opened... How else was I supposed to use it?
The salesperson said it was approved for windows 8.1....bs
The dongle will not work with any other software .

What version of Pinnacle Studio is included with this software, or how do I get it to run on Windows 8.1?
Hello, recorder here. I really want to get into recording with Pinnacle Studios, but whenever I install it on my Windows 8.1 computer, I am not able to use it. Why? I have no clue. I've tried un- and re-installing it, editing registry keys, uninstalling other things that might have been interfering, but to no avail.
Either of these questions being answered would be quite helpful, but both would be even more. Thanks in advance.

Hey Matt, that was my problem that I was tackling with Geek Sqaud and my company IT department for the last month. I had to resort to Windows 7 and it is working as it should. Best of luck!
