Cannot toast without completely burned edges

This toaster, like another long-slot toaster from KITCHEN AID, cannot properly toast a piece of bread without having seriously, unacceptable burning on the toast edges. This has been reported by many other reviewers on other on-line sites. I returned the toaster and bought the comprable KITCHEN AID. As mentioned, it behaved similarly!
We can send a man to the moon but we cannot make even a $100 toaster that does its job properly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
