I purchased these along with a 12 inch Klipsch sub. Could not be more happy. Speakers are solid, well built units with crisp, clear sound at any level.

I've been very pleased with this sub. It shakes the house when you crank it. Movies come to life, and you can really feel music. Buy a quality shielded sub cable for best results.
Only @ Best BuySend monaural audio signals from an A/V receiver to a subwoofer with this subwoofer cable that is compatible with most 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound systems for flexible use.
Kept getting an annoying hum from my new sub woofer when the receiver was off and the sub would not go into stand by. Unplug the cable and humming would stop. The cable was getting interference from other wiring due to its lack of shielding. Changed to a better cable and the hum stopped and the sub goes into stand by as it should. Buy a different cable.

My original plan was to buy a Klipsch system but I bought this system because of the good reviews and the sales rep highly recommended it. After getting it home and connecting it using "method 2" and setting it up with a new Sony receiver, we watched one movie and was halfway through a second and the subwoofer made a loud pop and quit playing. I checked connections and everything was good. I called Def Tech the next morning to see if they could help. They advised to return it to best buy for an exchange. Since this was the only one in the store, and my not so local best buy is a 1.5 hour drive, I ordered a new one from bestbuy.com and had it shipped overnight. The next evening it arrived. I connected it, this time using "method 1" as per the instructions. Turned it on and all was good...for 20 minutes. During an action scene it made the sub made the same loud pop as the first one and wouldn't do anything after that. I contacted Def Tech once again, they were helpful and offered to upgrade my sub to a Pro sub 800. I declined, because of the 0 for 2 record. I returned both systems to the store and bought the Klipsch quintet and a 12 inch Klipsch sub and have been smiling ever since.

Is this a ported or sealed sub? If ported is it rear or what?
