I purchased a 6tb WD MyCloud device at the beginning of 2015. Big Mistake! I had to have the original drive replaced and the second drive is beginning to have the same problems the first drive had. Slow, unresponsive, difficult to administer, unavailable on any network, poorly written software, buggy updates, and basically a brick using electricity. If I could take mine back and get my money back, I would. I have had nothing but disappointment with this product. DO NOT BUY!

I purchased this device for a household file server, backup, media server. It has totally underwhelmed me with its performance and user capabilities It's difficult to locate on the network, INCREDIBLY slow, nonfunctioning features, poorly written software and updates that decrease the performance of the system. It falls off the network so it can't be found and then I have to reboot it which takes nearly 15 minutes to come back on line. It refuses to make a Safepoint which is a system backup to another location. The software refuses to report the size of the drive or the amount of space used and remaining. Save your money. Save yourself from extreme frustration. Avoid this product!

Good product - terrible support

I purchased this device on the recommendation of Geek Squad because i wanted automated non-cloud back-up. The device came with no instructions and the website is impenetrable. So I installed incorrectly. I called their support number and found it closed over the weekend, despite a message that said they are available 24/7. Eventually it got so bad i wrote to the company and detailed all the problems. One of their technicians called me and spent an hour over the phone to install (I think) correctly. The product requires more than one interface; the path to the backed up files is non-intuitive and the company really needs to get its act together. I would have had Geek Squad help me except that that would require them to do a house call. After all, this is a consumer product (or at least is sold at Best Buy so is positioned as such). So i am going to say "Not recommended" because of the installation problems.

How will this interface with my iTunes library? I want to take ALL of my cds and load them, then be able to access them from work or wherever.
It won't. iTunes will struggle to find and access the drive and play the tunes.
