Within 7 months this unit pays for itself

I gave this to my friend to test because he has complained several times for paying $8 a month for renting their modem plus I’ve known him all my life and he works in IT for one of the largest money market firms in the world.
He said he could pull 30+mbps off this modem on all his tests. He also said that this model is significantly smaller and less of a footprint than the model Time Warner supplied him.
In short he said it preformed as it should and he loves it. He thanked me very much for saving him a lot of money.
Within 7 months, this unit will not only pay for itself but it will put money back in your wallet.
TP-Link also offers 24hr customer support and they team is knowledgeable (I’ve called a couple times and asked some tough questions).

Best router I've owned and I buy flagship models
on April 29, 2017

This is an awesome idea. One router with a range of 4500sqft is nowhere close to as useful as three strategical placed synced routers with 1500sqft. With this setup you limit the amount or resistance you will incur from walls, other structures.
Setup is easy. You download the app and in 5-10 minutes, you will have a amazing Wi-Fi network up and running.
I was able to basically max out my upload and download speeds from Verizon running at only 2-3% under max capability. I think this max be the closest I’ve gotten to max on a Wi-Fi router.
It also comes with anti-virus software which I like. You get all the normal great parental controls, guest controls and more with this system. I love TP-Link because their router configuration menus are easy to navigate and configure as desired. If you’re not tech savvy you don’t have to worry because TP-Link offers 24hr customer service and will gladly walk you through anything you need to know. I only called them once for another device but my experience was a pleasure.
I’ve owned a lot of routers and extenders but this 3 identical router system with 4500sqft is my favorite. I’d recommend this to anyone who has a large area they want to have strong Wi-Fi.

I own a couple of wireless network extenders made by TP-Link and this one works as claimed just like the others. I love these things. I live in an home where for some reason my Wi-Fi signal gets severely limited at the half way point. I have one on one side of my house and another in my garage. I also use one to extend the range when I fly my drones.
The range off the extender is about as good as the range on my router. You do need to position right at about the 1 bar point from the signal your replicating / extending to maximize your range but if you do, you add significant range to your Wi-Fi.
When I run this at a park, I believe I do get about 14,000sqft in range across the open field I tested it at. If not 14,000sqft it was very close to the mark. I didn't know the speeds for the Wi-Fi where I was so it wouldn't be right to even try to measure but I definitely got about double distance on my Drone which it what I've gotten with other extenders rated at around 15ksqft.

Looks great and works great with app and Alexa

$1.32 annually to run this smart bulb with beautiful light. I’ve this model and a half dozen others made by TP-Link that Alexa allows me to control singularly or in groups so I can have rooms with two lights or three lights in a fixture or even in two fixtures. I have to program the room but once done, I say turn on hallway lights and all lights designated to “hallway lights”, whether it be 1 or 3 will turn on.
All my lights are the white dim models and the dim is very sweet but I also got one multicolor bulb for my game room. I love how cool it looks to illuminate in a color that I choose.

I’ve been using a couple of TP-links Wi-Fi plugs including this one for the last few months. I love how well they work with Alexa and how easy the app is to you. I love it so much I just ordered another Wi-Fi set, smart light bulbs and one of their powerline kits so I don’t have to pay money for slow internet when I move into my new home in the countryside on June 1st.
The voice commend on Alexa is great. You simply turn the bedroom lights on and they turn on. You do need to have an option for each device turned on to use it with Alexa. This option is called “remote connected” and you’ll find it in the Kasa app.
You also get scheduling capability which is really useful. I’ve already saved money on my recent electric bills.

So awesome

I used to use the ones with the remote controls in my home. These are so much better.
I do own Alexa (Amazon Echo) and if you do too, you should get these because they work perfectly with her. Now when I'm leaving I can turn off my entertainment room in a couple seconds with my voice. This saves me time and money and I love that.
The app has worked flawlessly for me. I open it up when I pull in my driveway (I get the wifi signal Amazon Echo is connected to from where I park), open app and my entertainment system and lights are now on.
I've been waiting for 5 years for this technology to work well and be affordable. While I did get this for free, I'd gladly have bought it after knowing how well it works.

Great fast internet
on January 18, 2017
Posted by: stephenm806
I've a large house and plan to move to a larger one next one. Right now I've to run range extenders and two routers and still get only decent service at some points. I also seem to be in an area with high Wi-Fi traffic interference.
I plugged these into the rooms where I bring my laptop for fast direct internet and it supplied them. I got better download times and seem to be faster browser times loading pages from the power lines versus my routers.
When I travel I just toss one in my bag and when I'm at a hotel or pretty much wherever I don't have to worry about unsecured internet and people stealing my information. I really love having my own private secure line.

Great affordable bulb to upgrade home
on December 9, 2016
Posted by: stephenm806
I tested another one of these a couple months back for TP-Link. I've since bought a half dozen on my own dollar to upgrade my house. I'd also like to note that I did test about just over a half dozen different models from other non-fortune 5000 companies and they were all ok but TP-Links Wifi app has them all beat and costs less than the other companies. The app is easy to use. Open it open and turn on/off the lights. You can even set timers or adjust the hue. I'd recommend these bulbs to anyone who wants to have a smart home but not break the bank, while upgrading. Disclaimer: Submitted as part of a free sample program

Lose download speed thru the router?

I have an old Netgear wireless router that when I hard wire connect my laptop through it, I lose over 50% of the speed, than if I had direct connected to my cable modem. I have comcast power boost, and can only get 5.4 mps thru the router, but almost 15 via direct connect to cable modem.
I use hard wire in and out and I've used Wi-Fi. I noticed no lag.
