Enjoy a consistent connection to the web with this Google Wi-Fi setup. The single access point is ideal for use in smaller homes of less than 1,500 square feet, giving you the ability to connect your tablets, laptops or phones. This Google Wi-Fi system provides a reliable signal that can be shared by multiple devices at once.

Absolutely disappointed...

OK, I don't usually do reviews but I decide do this one for those who expect the same or more than I expected, I really like the minimalistic and easy setup but in my medium apartment I didn't have a good signal at all, in my bedroom the connection switched automatically from 5ghz to 2.4ghz do the poor signal and therefore the speed slowed down almost a half. I consider it a good idea but it need more development and performing enhancer. For now it doesn't worth the price for me, even a single point.
Pros: (FOR ME)
1-Dual band 2.4ghz/5ghz
2-Bandwith prioritization
3-Minimalistic design
4-Easy setup
5-Remote access
6-Automatics updates
Cons:
1-Just an Ethernet port
2-Poor signal coverage
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First I would say sorry for my English, I'm a fan of Sony, a week ago I decided to buy a model x810c 65-inch and decided to return to buy a x750d because according to Sony the last update supports HDR, the first thing I appreciated was that the screen is slightly bent at the top center, which can be seen only when viewed from the side, it is insignificant because it does not affect the quality and nobody notice it, but for me it is important to be a great acquisition, but this is not my main appreciation, when I updated the tv I noticed that the content HDR in Netflix does not look good, the picture becomes opaque and poor in brightness and contrast, I contacted the customer service and they said that the TV supports HDR and they sent me a link that explain how to enjoy it, the first thing is that the only HDMI ports those support HDR are 2 and 3, and the format Enhanced HDMI function must be enabled, anyway netflix content remains the same. According to the price I recommend the product but I have some things against. The motion performance is not the best.

If I buy one unit now, install it, and find out it is not quite enough, can I buy a second unit later and connect it to the first one? And how long is the ethernet cable that comes with the unit?

Hi, you can buy a single point and then if you need more coverage you can buy another ne, as more as you need. It is very simple to do.

Do you have to use it as a router? Can you disable the router functions and us it only as a WiFi access point with an existing router?

Nop, you can't, this is a mesh connection, two or more points connected to the main point to provide a better range of coverage, that's it.

Does this act as a WiFi extender for your connection to WiFi service? My Modem/Internet/Ether net is in one room, so can this unit just be plugged in for power in another room, farther away and have it extend my wireless connectivity?

Nop, these points are not an extenders, this is a mesh connection and it work different than the regulars repeaters. Can not be used with a different router except a Goggle On hub

Does the google router support 4K? I see 4K routers on the market now, but this doesn't mention it.

Hi, you can get a really good performance for 4K streaming, but be sure that you have a goggle point near the TV, in the same room for example, a mesh connection like 3 point in different rooms can help you but just one in the living room is not going to provide a good signal in your bedroom for a fast streaming, the router is going to switch from 5ghz band (faster) to the 2.4ghz automatically due the distance from the point and the speed come down almost an half.

My apartment is 3000 sq ft. I am going to eliminate Comcast and move to Web Pass Internet Service. I was told I needed to buy this to hook up my new internet service for TV - and two computers + ipad. Is this the best Router to buy?

Hi, it depend, I bought a single point for my medium apartment and it didn't work for me due the poor signal in the bedroom, if you consider to buy a total mesh system (3 point or more) it probably do a good job for you but I consider it too expensive for the performance it provide.
