This dryer has a mind of its own. In order to get my low-heat permanent press things dry, I have to use the timed dry cycle and guess. I don't like the top lint trap--gets dust all over when I remove it. The wrinkle-free feature isn't a continuous tumble--it just restarts every ten minutes and revolves once or twice. A positive is that the exterior style is very nice. I miss my old boring model that let me control the settings and did a better job. I wish someone had posted an honest review before I bought it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Despite many different attempts to try different methods, I have given up on dark clothes coming out of this washer without white soap residue all over them. I emailed a Whirlpool customer service rep for assistance and received a cut-and-pasted response telling me to contact a live service repairman and be ready to pay for the service call. (I bought these four months ago.) A positive is that the exterior style is very nice. I miss my old top load agitator model that let me control the settings and did a better job.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

how loud is it get?
It isn't really LOUD, it just makes really weird noises. We thought a spaceship was landing the first time we ran it.

so many bad reviews,, is this washer truly a BAD BUY!?
there are so many people on the web, giving bad reviews... I purchased this set, just waiting on delivery in a few days but my concern is if I should change my order for a "better machine" it is truly hard to bas my purchase on a review since it seems people that give their feed back on a product are typically the ones that do only just to complain on the bad part of any item.
I don't post reviews regularly but did for this set. I hate it and wished I'd been warned about it before I bought it.

the lock on start button
how do I stop wash cycle to let clothes soak for 30 or so mins? so so disappointed in this. could I have a repair man take out that part of machine ?
You can't. Use the presoak feature. You don't run this machine--it runs you.

I just purchased this kind of washer yesterday and I have more detergent and some are powder but not HE, can I still use those?
What will happen if I use the non HE detergent.? It just I have a lot of stock of non HE.
Don't do it. The HE detergents are formulated to make less suds. Even then, you will still have soap residue on your dark clothes. I took my non HE detergent back to WalMart and exchanged it for HE. You will void your warranty if you don't use HE.
