Frigidaire Gallery 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Convection Induction Range: Take control of your cooking surfaces and treat your family to home-cooked meals. The 5-element induction cooktop gives you more room to boil, simmer and fry while making cleanup easier by heating only the cookware, not the cooktop, eliminating burnt-on spills. The convection oven lets you cook foods evenly on multiple racks while gauging and maintaining your desired food temperature. This smart, powerful functionality comes in a stainless steel package that complements the modern kitchen with elegant style.

Poorly built, cheap materials, but works OK

We bought this range to replace our 6 year old Kenmore Elite Range, which blew a fuse in the filter board after a short life of 6 years. The Frigidaire and Kenmore Elite are both made by Electrolux and many parts interchange between our old and new ranges.
So we decided to buy a new induction range instead of repairing the old one when we realized the repair would cost more than half of the cost of the new range. We researched our different options and reluctantly went with the Frigidaire after I saw that the circuit boards had been redesigned from our failed Kenmore unit. By the way, if you want to see the similarity between two products, look at the parts list at a website such as searspartsdirect.com. There I discovered that the Electrolux, Kenmore Elite and Frigidaire had essentially the same innards.
Anyhow, the Frigidaire was out of stock, so we had to wait more than 2 weeks to get it delivered. When it arrived, and the delivery team unboxed it, they found it was damaged - the control panel was bent in significantly on one side. That was our first real hint that the Frigidaire might be chincy.
When the second unit came a week later, it looked OK, so we accepted it. However, when I went to install the power cord, I discovered that the factory had overtorqued the screws for for the power wires. Despite having good tool and years of mechanical experience, one of the screws refused to break loose. Luckily,we did not have our old range hauled away. So, I ended up switching the junction block between our old range and our new one. When I removed the junction block from the new range, I noticed that the power terminals were barely snug.
Once we had power to the range, it started up and seems to work fine (hence 3 stars), but we noticed other issues. The storage drawer did not line up with the rest of the oven - it was not parallel to the oven door, it was bent in on one side and it opened and closes stiffly. When I compared it to our old range, I noticed that the tray was mounted on ball bearing on the old range, but on cheap Nylon or Delrin slides on the new range. A little bit of mechanical manipulation got the door to look more presentable, but I could not get it to slide easily, because one of the guides did not line up with the rail it was supposed to fit in.
Finally, if you look down the front face of the range, it is clear that the range door does not fit squarely - it sticks out more on one side. There are numerous other examples of poor fit and finish, but I think you get the drift. So if you do not mind a range that is assembled with the quality level of a 1970's era American car, this range might fit your bill.
As for operation, everything seems OK, but we have only used it for 1 day! The "induction noise" is barely noticeable, much quieter than our old range. The power controls work well. The oven did not have any odor issues when first used.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
