I have dealt with Jawbone up24 and Fitbits before getting the original vivosmart. Long story short out of all of these the Jawbone has hands down the best interface, while I thought the quality of the Fitbit was the highest, but with the original vivosmart having the best capabilities. Not going to lie the original Vivosmart I had tons of issues, in 2 months I had to warranty it 3 times. I was super hesitant about the HR version, but I had hoped that the idiosyncrasies would be fixed and they have been so far (have had it about 3 weeks).
The battery life is right around 4-5 days with everything connected, the always on display is super handy, the HR function seems reasonably accurate for wrist based. If I was THAT concerned about serious cardio and training I would go to a chest strap because they are more accurate.
The touchscreen is more responsive than the original Vivosmart and the fact that it has a physical button is so nice because then you can actually turn it off to reset. .
The way I look at it the activity trackers all have compromises and this one was the best
