The Best -- Hands Down!!!

I read the reviews on these speakers, and I watched some YouTube videos of them being demonstrated, compared, and sound-tested, including a video where the speaker's engineer, Andrew Jones, described the process and the components used to produce this amazing outcome.
These speakers are absolutely amazing irrespective of price-point, and that is not just talk. I have only had them for about 3 hours which means that they aren't even "burned in" but I am telling you that that fact just makes me sweat with anticipation about how much better the sound will become over the next few days.
I have had quite a few systems over the last 35 years and many different speaker combinations. Today I have a Pioneer Tuner Control Amp and the separate Power Amp with the equalizer and bass boost. I tried Polk T15's along with my Pioneer floor speakers, rear channel surround sound speakers and the center channel speaker, and they sounded very good at first. But after a few days I noticed that something was missing with them or either just not quite right no matter how I tried to tune them with the equalizer. That's when I started looking at the reviews for the Pioneers.
Well, this morning I returned the T15's and bought the BS22's and I am just blown away with what I got for my money. First of all, Best Buy price-matched Amazon at $99. Then they gave me another $9.00 off that price which means I walked out of there with these incredible babies for $90.00.
They are balanced, harmonic, and I can hear every instrument and every nuance in the music I've listened to so far. The bass is just right, the midranges just seem to pick you up and allow you to float, and the highs keep you interested but they don't tire you out.
The Pioneer SP-BS22 speakers do exactly what I want them to do no matter the music I have listened to. There may be some better speakers out there but for the regular price of $129.00 or the sale price that I got them for, it is going to be hard to justify paying more for any speaker because these sound so so sweet!
Pioneer has a winner in the bookshelf speaker category and the SP-BS22's should be able to defend their title for a long time to come!

Little speaker, great sound!

I bought these speakers at Best Buy on 12/20, my birthday. The day before I had bought some Infinity Bookshelf Spealers, but I returned them because the tweeter was too shrill sounding. I like my music balanced and clear. I saw these and took a chance after reading many reviews; I am so glad I did. These little speakers are a great edition to my Pioneer system and I am now doing a full research on Polk products as I prepare myself to invest more fully in their product line. Great deal, great sound!!!

Update to 12/28 post (The Best -- Hands Down!!!)

Today is January 1, 2016, and I have had the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR speakers for four days. They just keep getting better. I have listened to Dave Brubek's "Take Five", Art Blakey & the Jazz Messenger's "Caravan", Sade "Is it a crime?", The Beatles' "Let it be", and many other songs of different genres including rap and r&b. Admittedly, I don't know what $1000 speakers sound like but I have had some very good speaker systems over my lifetime. I have also had some good receivers and amps including the Pioneer system I have now. The speakers are placed about 16 feet apart facing each other, and the clarity, definition, detail, and balance is absolutely unbelievable. The people who have given these speakers anything less than four stars must have garbage systems or defective ears.
Where bookshelf speakers are concerned, my experience has included Sony, Infinity, Insignia, Dayton, Polk, and the Pioneers. The BS22s are the best hands down! I would have gladly paid more money for these speakers because they are incredible. In fact, they are so incredible that I have made them my mains and put my floor speakers on the B-channel. They work great with my surrounds and with the floor speakers. I was so mesmerized by the sound yesterday that 3-1/2 hours had passed before I had to force myself to move so that I could take care of some business. These are my THOUSAND DOLLAR SPEAKERS!

The Very Best -- Hands Down!!! (Update to 12/28)

I have now had these "Black Jewels" for eight days and I just stopped by to tell everyone that these are truly some unbelievable speakers! My Pioneer receiver has an equalizer and adjustable Power Bass Boost, and for the last three days (about 70 hours straight) I have run them with the equalizer frequencies wide open and the bass boost turned up to max and the volume maybe two-thirds of the way up.
Earlier today I reset the equalizer and the bass boost to where I normally have them set, and the 22's sound even more amazing. I have been listening to a lot of jazz including Kenny G "Live", Buddy Rich "Caravan", The Beatles "Let It Be", Michael Jackson "Heartbreak Hotel", The Police "Every Breath You Take", and many other genres including rap and gospel. The 22's have handled everything like the champions they are. I just can't say enough about the angelic sound produced by these speakers, and I really believe that the angels of heaven also enjoy listening to the sweet music they produce. Unbelievable!!!
