Printer is amazing - when it works. I noticed that most of the 4 star + reviews here are within a relatively short period of time from the purchase date. I felt the same way, until it begins to regularly go offline. I will get on the phone with technical support, and it works. After I restart or shutdown my computer for the day, it's back to being offline. I did some research and the printer may have some internal Ethernet/wireless configuration errors. It's typically the kind of problem that you would experience if you had a "several years-old" printer/other device which could not handle modern network configurations related to IP addresses, DHCP and wireless frequencies. I've tried with on both 2.4 and 5GHz. I made 5- 6 phone calls to Brother over an 7 month period, totaling just under 6 hours of phone tech support time. This, in addition to doing my own troubleshooting and research totaling 7-8 hours. I've spoken with several reps, even high level Senior Tech support Specialists. They are all very nice, but are limited in what they can do. They would not honor the 1 year warranty. They went through the same or very similar trouble shooting steps every time. On my 4th phone call, a Senior tech rep felt he found the problem - he told me not to use the Windows 10 or Mac drivers, but rather to install the Brother drivers from the Brother website. Genius, right? After 1 hour and 5 minutes on the phone, my printer was finally printing, but 2 hours later, when I restarted my computer and went to print, I was back to being offline again. I have 7 devices connected to my home network - on the 2.4 GHz and 5Ghz frequencies - and this is the only product that drops connection. If this is in fact a "good" printer model, then I found a defective one. They would not honor the warranty, even under 1 year. I got so upset, I told them to go tickle themselves, but of course I used locker-room language. They've wasted my time and elevated my stress levels. They are total phonies in saying they honor their warranties, because in every phone call I made, they looked for excuses not to return/exchange it. On my final 1 hour phone call, the Senior Support Supervisor, who told me he would help me after some basic troubleshooting steps, decided to send me to "advanced" tech support, to go through the steps again. That's when I told him to go tickle himself. Brother ain't no "brother." They is the enemy! I have owned several Brother products - 5 to be exact. Never again.
