Good TV no Netflix app.

This TV sets up easily and has a nice clear bright picture. However if you are buying this to watch Netflix, the Netflix app does not work. You click the app and you get the loading screen then nothing happens. I have searched online for a solution and there are many many other people having this issue with Sony TVs not just this one. Hulu and Amazon work fine but no Netflix. From what I can tell Sony doesn't care at all about this issue as it has been ongoing for a while now and still no fix. There are only 2 HDMI inputs also so if you use Netflix you will probably have to buy an HDMI switch so you can use a Roku or Apple TV for Netflix because once you plug in a cable box and DVD player your ports are full.

This blender works good for about a year, then the blade slowly stops turning and emitting a horrible burning rubber smell. For 25 bucks I guess it is ok but this thing is not in it for the long haul.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Laptop

This is a great computer. It handles everyday tasks very smoothly and fast. I installed a SSD I purchased from Amazon immediately after the purchase and also another 8 GB ram. It was very easy after watching a few youtube videos on how to do it. It will boot or restart now in under a minute or so which is really nice. The B & O audio is excellent also if you connect to external speakers. I have logitech speakers with subwoofer, and after figuring out how to open the equalizer that comes installed and doing a little tweaking it sounds really good. I don't do much gaming on it as I have consoles for that, but I wanted a machine that was fast and handled heat well. I have had heat issues with two previous laptops and was sick of it. This thing runs super cool while my other laptop right beside this one is red hot all the time. The fans are pretty quiet too. The only negatives I can say is that the display could be a little better, there is some light bleeding when you display dark colors on it. And Windows 10 is a little glitchy, but that isn't any fault of HP that's on Microsoft. HP's website is great for reinstalling drivers and such if you want to migrate your OS to SSD drive as I did.

I would recommend this to a friend!

What other apps (aside from Netflix, Hulu Plus, Youtube) are included with the Smart catalog? HBO GO? Amazon Prime Video?

Hulu, Amazon, and some other pointless ones. Netflix is on there but it does not work. Sony is having a firmware problem and doesn't seem to be doing anything about it.

It's a little better than my previous HP Envy keyboard was.

Does this laptop run GTA 5 well?

It's not bad actually. It will drop a frame every now and then but it plays better than I expected. Comparable to GTA5 on xbox one, graphics maybe a little better actually. I haven't played with settings to see if it runs smoother scaled down or anything I haven't had it that long.

How long can the battery last and how good is the connectivity to WiFi?

You should get at least 4 hours battery life, if you conserve by dimming display and such you can probably get 5-6 hours. The wifi connectivity has been perfect so far....no issues at all.

SO basically is this a good gaming laptop ?

There is no such thing as a good gaming laptop. It will handle some games, but if you are only looking for a machine for gaming, towers are the way to go. I7 processors and mobile I7 processors are WAY different in speed as well as the graphics cards, etc. This is a great laptop for handling everyday tasks. It is super fast. Do a little research about the difference between gaming laptops and gaming computers. You will find out that laptops use scaled down versions of everything and are not nearly as capable as towers are.

Not really. This PC is smaller, 15.6 inches compared to 17.3. Also this one only has regular hard drive, no SSD. Also this has 950 graphics not 965.

No, there is no optical drive on this PC. You can purchase an external CD drive though and plug it in your USB.
