I'm also having the same problem with poor circuitry....just like the other victim on this thread...lasted about a year or so...it just snaps, crackles and pops....and it's not even good for breakfast...go elsewhere for a sub...
Add deep, low-frequency bass impact to your movies and music with Polk's PSW108. This subwoofer is powered by a high-current amplifier producing 50 watts RMS/100 watts clean, dynamic power for loud bass and a wide dynamic range necessary to recreate a life-like home theater experience. Features front-firing 10" composite polymer cone driver that adds depth to your audio tracks and provides more bass impact for your sound system. The cabinet is constructed from non-resonant MDF with internal bracing for superior bass clarity and accuracy. Features flexible inputs and controls like power-saver on/auto switch, independent volume control and a toggle phase switch on the back panel for a cohesive unit. Place the subwoofer on the same side of the room as your system's front speakers for the best performance

Got this at Sears a few years back......lasted about a year...hooked it up to a sound bar and worked great for a year or so. Now it just hums and crackles every now and then. It still trying to work but no thumping bass...for 260 bucks should be able to last longer than this..

Bad circuit, do not buy
ByVipergator
DO NOT BUY, BAD CIRCUIT. There is a flaw in the circuit of this subwoofer that will show-up after awhile. This subwoofer will blow a fuse for no reason, regardless of use or how loud you listened to it. This is an electrical problem. Brought mine into a speaker repair shop and they could not fix it. They also said Polk would not work with them, even though this is a common and known problem. I now have a $350.00 stool because although it looks brand new, and practically is, it does not work nor can I get it repaired.
