First I have to tell you that I'm a guy and and I'm a mechanic. This is my first review that I ever wrote. I was in need of a new vacuum, my old vac was a dirt devil vision. I have a dog that sheds terribly and also two cats. I normally vac once a week, I should vac probably twice week but come on I'm a guy. Anyways, I vacuumed REALLY good with the old vac first then I busted out the Shark, I did half the room and I couldn't believe how much pet hair and dirt I already got! The canister was full, I had to empty it! I did the other half and I emptied the canister again, it was also full! I emptied both times on a white trash bag in the garage. Hopefully I can add pics to this review because I took pics of the huge pile I pulled out of my carpet. It's pretty gross actually. When your using the vac you definitely can feel and hear the brush agitating the carpet. It has a ton of suction. The on/off switch is real nice being on the handle. The fact that you can lift the canister off and still use the vac to get under the coffee table is awesome. Let me tell this one more thing, I have carpet in the living room and the bedrooms, but I have some hardwood floors in a couple other rooms. This is gonna sound kinda weird maybe, but I noticed if you turn off the lights and you use the led lights on the sweeper, it will Mega illuminate the dirt, or in my case the dog hair that's on your hard wood floors. I couldn't believe all the dog hair I saw. Well anyway this thing sucked it all right up no problem. I've probably read 150 reviews and watched countless videos on YouTube, trying to decide between this Shark or the Dyson multi surface. I am so glad I bought this instead. I'm telling you this thing is worth every penny. I paid 299.00/ you get what you pay for. Also I got to tell ya, in the beginning I was leaning towards that Dyson, but when I went to Best Buy and pulled it down from the shelf to check it out, I was not impressed, it seemed very cheaply built and expected a lot better quality for the money they're asking for those. This Shark is a winner for me. (Winning!!) Lol.
