Setup very entangled

Setup initially seems OK. But after a while you realize the sound is always default in stereo mode. Also has issues with sound in pass-through mode. No one seems to know how to fix it. I will return it. Useless...and bigger than usual AVRs. Makes a lot of heat.

Want wireless? Buy this. Otherwise buy anything.

I had routers in my life...from D-Link, Edimax to Cisco....and all I can say, from the wireless power point of view this one rules. My computer now has 500-600Mb constant all around my house (2600sqft) and in any corner of my yard (8000+sqft). The installation was as easy as drinking a glass of water. You answer some questions done. All done. I use it as access point mode (which was recommended automatically by answering the questions) only for wireless (that's why I bought it).

Just had to buy more

Hi all,
I work in the software industry, and have been working with computers since 90's. I like wireless, but I recommend to put as much as you can, devices that are fixed in your house, on cable to take away from wireless load which eat CPU and power more than cable. What I can say about these mini switches (btw I bought one and then came back and bought 4 more): just buy them if you need fast simple split where you have 1 cable and more than one devices. No need to trust me, just search and read the reviews. I like the KISS model (keep it simple stupid) and these are just that.

What is the power rating of the AC adapter?

If anyone knows, what is the power consumption of the unit (preferably in the active mode)?
usually these type of switches eat less than 2.34W (very very low anyway). http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/switches/home-ethernet-switches/GS605v5.aspx#tab-techspecs?cid=wmt_netgear_organic
