I bought this speaker about a year ago now, principally for camping trips, since it was supposed to be water-resistant, shock-resistant, freeze-resistant, and boasted a 13 hour battery life. Well, it's been rained on twice (water-resistant does not mean you can drop it in the pool, but that it can take a brief shower), dropped three or four times, and frozen a dozen times. It has survived all of that with flying colors. One thing I've noticed is that if you play it at it's loudest levels, the battery only lasts about two hours. But that is very loud. In camp, I run it at about 3 or 4, and it lasts pretty close to the advertised 13 hours. It's been so impressive, that three of my buddies have bought the Boom as well.
