LG refrigerators have bad warranty support

I purchased this refrigerator based on these reviews. However, after 45 days the defrost cycle doesn't seem to be working. The main compartment must be blocked from air flow by ice and frost build up inside the evaporator area. The freezer is very cold (-15 degrees F.) but the fresh food compartment is around 50 degrees F. It should be below 40.
BestBuy support was nice but said it had been too long and I would have to deal with LG support. BestBuy transferred me to LG support where they asked questions not even relevant to the model I have. After several questions, they suggested I turn the temperature control one level colder and wait a few hours. It had no effect so I called again. After additional questions which were not relevant to the model, they agreed to send a ticket to their scheduling department. They said it would be 3 to 5 days before the scheduling department would get back to me. I'm still waiting to here back. Fortunately for me, I have an old mini refrigerator so I can use that. Perhaps LG should recommend anyone who purchases this refrigerator to have a spare just in case - a warranty service call will likely take several days before they get to you.
Based on my experience with LG support, I will not buy any other LG products again. I only hope my other LG products won't need warranty support.
