If you don't have a prime lens, you need to buy one. This one's affordable and takes great looking photos and video. The low F stop is what you need for those allusive low-light photos and the prime lens is one of the best ways to get that.
Capture crisp audio with this RODE VIDEOMIC-GO on-camera microphone that features a lightweight design for portability and a hot-shoe mount for secure attachment to your camera.
This mic is certainly an improvement over the internal mic and for the price is definitely worth it. It's mount makes it unobtrusive so you get improved sound with no downside.
The only thing to be aware of is that if you're shooting in manual modes the mic is sensitive enough to pic up the sound of camera operations like spinning the selection wheel on a canon (you'll catch the clicking noise). So that isn't at all a criticism of the mic, but just an fyi for you as a user to either shoot in auto or not adjust things other than focus if sound capture is essential.
With a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and an EF-S 18-55mm IS STM lens, this Canon EOS Rebel T6i DSLR camera makes it easy to capture crystal-clear images. Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to share stored photos across compatible devices.Memory card sold separately.
I purchased this film in an emergency situation to film a wedding. Normally I use a T2i and make short films for festivals or youtube and mostly shoot with a prime lens and everything in manual. However, since I make movies, on occasion I'll have a friend ask for a wedding video. Well, my wife took a trip and forgot and take my camera with her! So I was scrambing, liked everything about my T2i but was intrigued by the autofocus option on the T6i (something lacking on the T2i). It's not as fast for autofocus on a traditional video camera, but it's definitely a nice option to have.
Overall, the T series cameras are fantastic. They are great entry level options for you to learn on that will just automatically improve your photos or videos over your old point and shoot camera, and as you improve you can also pull award winning footage from them as well.
