The 2 other people before me have described exactly what wrong. Asus in my opinion has some of the highest quality products. The Best Buy employee suggested I swap out the netgear adapter in my had with this Asus...because it will " blow netgear out of the water" Obviously he had no idea what he was talking about. If your going to push a pc product do it because you truly have experience with it. If it hadn't of been Asus brand I would have kept walking but gave it a shot.
Worked fine at first except after windows restarted. After windows restart the adapter shows up but no wireless signals are found. Only was to fix this is to unplug and plug it back in. After that comes the overheating. After a few hours the usb gets incredibly hot and will just disconnect and stop working. I thought it was driver issues to begin with however after discovering how hot it was after it would disconnect it all made sense. I believe Asus needs to go back to the drawing books with this one. And yes I tested with every usb slot I have along with a second pc.
Long story short don't waste your time or money on this. I spent way too much time finding the cause of all these problems.
