Looks pretty but bad quality

I bought this phone case in May because I thought it looked pretty and it matched my Kate Spade purse. I got lots of compliments on it (even my boyfriend noticed and liked it) and I thought it was a great purchase. Unfortunately, the main point of buying a phone case is to protect your phone and this case does a terrible job of that. Luckily, I always invest in the thick, glass screen protectors or my phone would've bit the dust a long time ago. And the phone case is poorly made. After a while, the gold lining flaked off, leaving it looking cheap, and the ALL four corners of the case have damage, whether it's the "leather" peeling off or the actual corners themselves breaking into bits and pieces. So it's pretty for a hot minute, but once you actually use the case for an extended period, it deteriorates. I'll keep buying Kate Spade purses, but I'll never buy a phone case from this brand again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
