No ethernet connection

Note: I did my shopping in store for this item rather than using the website. I was looking to upgrade from the first version of the Roku 2 since it was getting glitchy and I am about to subscribe to Sling tv. My store still carries the newer version of the Roku 2, but the Premiere is the latest and greatest. I asked the sales associate what the major difference was between the Premiere and the Premiere plus and he said the headphone jack on the remote was the only difference. I figured that wasn't worth the extra $20 so I went with the Premiere and took it home. 5 seconds after unboxing I noticed there was no ethernet port. I went to the best buy website and compared specs and you have to buy the Premiere plus if you want ethernet. The box doesn't do a good job at indicating this is a WiFi only device. The website does a better job at communicating this key difference, but I didn't check until after. You'd think the sales people with their clipboards would have enough product knowledge rather than looking at the picture on the front of the box and winging it. I returned to the store and exchanged for the Premiere plus. I unboxed again and there's the ethernet port I wanted, but what's that? Another key difference between the two I see? The plus also has a micro SD slot not available on the Premiere. Product knowledge is a thing of the past and the burden is on the customer to do all the research these days I'm afraid. I gave this a 4 since the packaging could definitely make it more clear that wired Internet connection is not an option. It looks like the Premiere and Premiere plus have the same processor so this will be a great upgrade performance wise regardless of which of the 2 you pick. Videos begin playing almost immediately and no more glitches and crashing like with the first generation Roku 2 (it was good for its time, but not up to the tasks of today). Personally I prefer a wired connection because WiFi can be spotty sometimes, but if you're confident with your WiFi or wired is not an option then go for it. I did sign up for sling tv when I got this home and it runs perfectly. It is definitely faster all around and worth upgrading if you're using an older unit. Video is absolutely cleaner and no hangups. I can't comment on the 4k capability because I don't have that kind of TV yet. Oh, and best buy please train your associates better on the products you carry. Making a second trip is not very convenient.
I would recommend this to a friend!
