Great time saving photo scanner

This is a review for the Epson FastFoto 640 that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The FastFoto 640 was very easy to setup and use right away. Download the software, install and within minutes you can start scanning your photos. The 300dpi setting is very fast. A stack of 30 photos are scanned in about 1 minute. This a huge time saver compared to flatbed scanning. The quality is solid and the auto enhancements are welcomed feature. The 600dpi setting is slower but still much faster than a regular flatbed scanner.
The best use of the FastFoto 640 is to get all of the old photos digitized so that they can shared. Photos sitting in a shoe box don't get looked at very often. It would be great if Epson could develop a similar product for 35mm slides or negatives. Even after all the photos are scanned the FastFoto 640 is still very worthwhile to have since it will scan front and back of 8 ½ x 11 documents at the same time. Although the price is on the high end, overall the FastFoto 640 is great device.
I would recommend this to a friend!
