The signal strength of my iPhone is in average -114 in my study. I use ATT services and I keep my phone always in the same place on the table.
I wanted to get stronger signal and I ordered Reach Antenna, which is a sticker attached to the back of the phone.
I did extensive testing and found out that Reach Antenna didn’t improve the signal strength at all – actually the signal was weaker (-119 in average). There was not any improvement in the data speed, either.
I am surprised that this kind of product is for sale!

I used to have 11 Logitech Alert cameras but 5 of them are now broken and you can not get them fixed or you can not get new ones. Functionally they are pretty good.
I have been looking for Logitech replacement and I have been testing various cameras. Now I finally found what I am looking for: Arlo Q Plus. Unfortunately they have only indoor version available but I suppose they must introduce an outdoor version soon, too, - I hope.
The quality of the picture is good during day and night. There is the barrel effect but it doesn’t matter.
Q Plus version has PoE internet and SD card slot, too.
I could use WiFi but I want to avoid excessive WiFi load to save it for other usage. I use old Logitech Powerline+PoE units to connect to Internet and to power the cameras – works fine. Naturally you could use direct cable and the included power. Or you could use separate Powerline + the included power. Still I prefer only one unit containing both PoE and Internet cable. If you don’t have old Logitech Powerline+PoE units, you could buy Comtrend PG-914s-PoE. I am surprised when Netgear doesn’t have Powerline+PoE units available.
The free cloud space is for 7 days and you can buy 30 or 60 days if you need more. On the other hand you can put SD card in and it saves video clips as long as you have space and deletes the old ones automatically. I have 64 Gb and it should be enough to keep clips many months in my case. You can read SD clips only by removing it from the cameras and using you PC to view the contents.
Snapshots of the recorded videos are very important to me as I want to see quickly if something interesting has happened. Arlo Q Plus has good snapshots for that purpose.
Arlo application is nice and works fine in iPhone and iPad. I also use it with browsers and it works fine. I wanted a camera which allows me to fine tune it and with the application I can do it.
There is even geofencing – the recording is stopped when my iPhone is near by and recoding is restarted as soon my iPhone leaves the zone – nice! You can define various rules for this purpose.
