I almost didn't buy this unit after reading reviews that stated you always have to use 2 remotes or have to change the input source EVERY time you turn on the TV. That is true only if you don't install Chromecast, (whether you plan to use it or not). I had the problem and finally installed Chromecast (I'm not very tech-savvy, but it was easy and seamless to do). Problem solved! Now, when I turn on the TV, it turns on to where it was when you turned it off--in my case, HDMI. This TV is great, nice picture and sound that is much better than the TV it replaced. Who knows, I may even end up using Chromecast for You Tube videos, etc. At this price point, I highly recommend this product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

2 out of 5good product but google connex is daily problem

TV works fine but every time you turn it on, it starts at a google screen and if you don't want to do that setup, you have to take a few steps to get out of it. Annoying and even problematic since the unit is for my 82yo mom. Luckily I wrote down the steps --- but it's annoying that every time you turn it on, you have to do those steps just to connect to regular cable and see channels.

Bite the bullet and install Chromecast and the problem will go away.

My Toshiba tv go back to the setup screen when we turn it off and on, then I got to reset the tv to hdm1 again, will it hurt to leave the power of the tv on so we don't have to keep setting it up.
I also had this problem until I installed Chromecast. When I did this (easy to do), the TV now turns on to the input source that was on when I turned it off.
