Bottom Line: Best 70" 4K Display at This Price

Picked this up for my Living room... Vizio has built a pretty solid rep over the last 10yrs or so. I read some reviews online and took a shot with this set.
I remember reading about this display online and I was very concerned about the comments regarding the limitations of the remote. I struggled for days with that. However I pulled the trigger anyway.
NOTE: Typically I would install a front Projector for my Home Theater needs but things are a bit different now that I have a wife. She wasn't having it so we settled on a 70" display.
So far I must say I am alot more than impressed with this display. And the Smartcast software from your phone works brilliantly with this display. If you are on the ropes because of the "remote issue", take my word for it and trust me, it's not an issue once you sync this display to your smartphone or tablet. It's smooth and intuitive.
Now... The dreaded lack of built in apps... That really had me on the ropes. reading about how this TV has no real menu and you have to basically use individual apps from a phone/tablet to cast content to this display seemed problematic and clunky to me.
However, I can say now since I have been using this display for a little over a month now, trust me it works very well. Just install your Wifi router as close to this TV as possible and you should be just fine.
For those who feel this is not a SmartTV, you are correct. This is not a TV at all. It has NO tuner. But who needs a tuner built into their TV in 2017?? I mean, really. ...
The display works just as advertised. And to clarify, when you are using the display to cast from Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, etc... You are not downloading to your phone so that you can upload to the display... That would be a tremendous strain on your home bandwidth and would make a device like this not very appealing.
The way this display and others like it works is by using your phone/tablet as a remote control for the existing software and apps built into the display. So when you cast to the display you are essentially just pointing the display to a URL. Anyone with Chromecast knows how this works. (Apps like AllCast for local content are different of course)
My only real issue with this display is that it does bleed light from the bottom left. So when u wall-mount this baby, once the lights go out u will notice light shining onto the wall behind the display. For those who are Home Theater hobbyists and videophiles of some sort, that could be a deal killer. That is my only gripe with this set. Oh and of course the lack of HDR. But I knew what I was paying for.
4K content looks amazing on this display. 1080p upscaled to 4K is amazing as well. No issues there.
I have an HTPC with 1920 x 1080 output via HDMI connected to how display and the upscale engine of this display does a wonderful job.
Again... FOR THIS PRICE, you cannot get a better 70" display... Legally.
