Hands Down, A Phenomenal Laptop

Lenovo has really stepped up their game with this one! I did my research among the various 2-in-1 laptops, tablets, and "Surface-like" options out there. With that said, I took a huge gamble buying this model before solid user reviews came through (quite unlike me). So far, I have been pleased with the purchase and the laptop has met all my expectations.
I am a young professional and had been looking for something with enough gusto and versatility to get me through the day. Battery life is even better than I expected. Last week, I recorded a lecture for 6 hours, while taking notes and had 50% battery leftover. Pretty impressive.
This thing can do a lot. It's almost freaky the first time you flip it around backwards into tablet mode. The hinge feels stable and well-built, seemingly able to hold the laptop in any position. I particularly like to use it as a tablet stand with the keyboard rotated underneath. It's super portable and just the right size to carry around.
Previous issues with the Yoga 710 seem to have been resolved with this model. The keyboard is excellent - they have corrected the previous design flaw with the improperly placed shift key. Typing is smooth and responsive, which rivals my old Macbook Pro. Fan noise is also not an issue with this version, so don't let that hold you back. If you're in the market for a new laptop, give this one a try. I think you'll be just as impressed!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Previous Yoga models have had issues with loud fans. Has that been resolved with this new model?

I also was concerned about this, but the problem seems to be solved for the most part. On rare occasion the fan will kick on at weird times, but not to the point of being obnoxious or loud. It usually doesn't last too long either.

Before I buy, two questions: First - Does this laptop get hot with basic use/are you able to use in your lap comfortably? I am using a HP Spectre x360 now and can't use in lap due to hot temps. Second - is the webcam at the top or bottom of the screen?

I have not experienced any hot temperatures with this laptop. Using this in the lap is great. My old laptop used to get crazy hot, but I haven't noticed it at all with the Yoga 720. The webcam is located at the top of the screen, but if you flip it into the tent position it is at the bottom.
