I'm not a Geek Squad kind of person so I'm going to review this for the average consumer. My advice is to get your own 16x DOCSIS Motorola MB7420 first. Set up is easy peasy Japanesy. This very affordable router has a GB WAN port and 4 GB LAN ports. It'll stand up to whatever you throw at it. I have it set to auto instead of configuring each band, BUT the beauty of this router is that it can be configured to both bands with separate SSIDs, passwords etc and connected device's IPs can be reserved.. ok I'm starting to talk over my own head. Let's go back down a few notches... the D-link AC1900 EXO is super impressive right out of the box. The UI is very user friendly and modern (unlike Netgear's 1990s looking techno), runs kewel and has lots of features that the Sheldon Coopers of the world will either love or hate. However, for the average Joe that's paying out the nose for HSI from Xfinity, get the most out of that insane monthly charge and get yourself this very affordable D-Link EXO and you'll experience high speed, low drag internet consistently above 500 Mbps. (And I only have Xfinity's "performance" tier)
