Good air fryer/oven for the $$

The Bella brand was created for style. Their appliances are simple and sleek with a modern design. This air fryer toaster oven adheres to that aesthetic. Upon unboxing, I noted how lightweight the oven is. It’s not a particularly heavy or solid piece, but it’s sturdy enough on the counter. It’s very attractive with easy to read display.
The glass door does close well, but it falls open to the counter instead of holding position as a better built one would. During the first run through to clean out the plastic fumes I was surprised how hot the hard plastic inset on the handle got. I had to use a towel to open and close it. I have not experienced that with other brands.
Be sure to read the instructions for operating the controls. The unit will always start up on the Air Fry setting. You need to hit the right and left arrows to select function. There is no Reheat, and no option to turn on convection for any setting but Air Fry. That is disappointing.
As for cooking, this form factor for an air fryer is far superior to old pod shapes! The heated air can reach all food surfaces to achieve crispier and more even finishes, and the Bella Pro does not disappoint on that function. Salmon comes out with a crisp top and bottom and flaky moist inside. Reheated baked chicken gets a crispy skin and sealed in flavors and moisture. Cheese sticks cook evenly and good old chicken Parmesan is delicious on the Air Fry setting. Adjust you cook times exactly as you would for a convection oven.
At this price point, you do not get a light or more granular controls, but the food is good and easy, and it looks lovely on the counter. Be careful of the hot handle, and get the hang of making time and temp adjustments, and enjoy the superior results of a toaster oven air fryer.

The price is definitely right for this Basic TPU case. I had a little higher hopes, but for the money this was okay. My iPhone 15 Pro is the natural titanium color, and I was hoping the clear case would show it off nicely. Unfortunately, the first thing you see is the typical rainbow reflection pattern common of most budget level smartphone cases. Most of my clear cases are Apple branded, which are far more expensive and I forgot that rainbow thing was even an issue. I hate that it takes $$ to get a truly clear case for phones that are pretty much art these days.
As far as function goes, all the cutouts are perfectly placed. There are no real buttons, but the overlays are positioned correctly and align for comfy pressing. The case comes out a little from the face and camera lenses for a bit of protection when the phone is on flat surface, and nothing covers a speaker or mic where it shouldn’t. The material near the left volume rockets is flimsy enough to move when you swipe over that way, but it stays on.
My biggest peeve past the rainbow is the sharp seams around the edges. One of the best things about the 15 series is the more rounded edges, which make the phone so much more comfortable to hold. This case introduces a sharp edge at each place your fingers wrap around the phone! That alone makes it a no recommend. I have another, comparably priced case that is a better choice, so there are likely more out there. Shop around.

Good light-gamer, but HEAVY machine

I’m starting with the bad because everything else is great! We call this little guy The Anvil in our house. No one picks it up without an audible grunt. It’s a 15” laptop that weighs SEVEN pounds. That’s about three times what my everyday work machine weighs, so I’m always a little stunned by the heft. Be forewarned, if you are looking for lightweight, this is not your pick. But if you want a perfectly capable, fun to use, quick gaming rig with a trusted nameplate and DNA, take a second look.
First off, the reason for the heft is no doubt the abundance of fans and cooling going on under the sturdy Alienware hood. The mid-lane i5 processor works hard, but heat is not an issue, and the multiple fans are surprisingly quiet while they do their job. The battery also accounts for some ounce-age, and the three solid hours of gameplay are worth it.
We play a lot of Steam titles and some newer ones on a laptop, and the graphics card keeps up with nary a stutter. After a good solid month of use, we have zero complaints with rendering or gameplay. And for daily tasks, it’s flat out fast. I was shocked actually at how smoothly it handles video calls and multiple pdfs and spreadsheets simultaneously without lagging.
Alienware has been building gamers for many years, and they have a good grip on what works in different segments. This laptop is midrange, and it is solid in that segment. Budget friendly with the specs needed and nothing that blows the doors off. The Alienware control center can ramp up some more advanced settings, but it really works great right out of the box. I would not hesitate to recommend—but not to someone looking for sleek or light. This is a gaming rig, and it’s heavy and bulky!

Disappointed in a legacy brand

Zagg has made protective films and cases for devices for years and years. I remember skinning my phones in every surface with Zagg wet application films. Then the more rigid plastic screen protectors came out and finally the glass iterations. I thought this was a no brainer. I was wrong.
I have had screen protectors from myriad brands in all different finishes; matte, mirrored, antiglare, rainbow, and more. Some are better than others and some have different smoothness. There was debate about whether to cover the holes or cut them out, edge to edge or just the middle. But at least with the glass protectors, the bubbles were gone and installation was super simple.
The Zagg protector comes with a handy plastic guide to set on the phone so there’s no effort to lining up the film. Just clean with the provided wipes, dry with provided cloth, and pop the film into the slot. Press with one finger in the middle and watch the glass adhere. All that is great. Love the guide rails.
But there were immediate places along the edges where the film did not adhere, and there were bubbles! I have not seen bubbles in years. I got those out, but no matter how firm I pressed, the edges would not remain stuck. Unacceptable. Especially from a legacy brand like Zagg.
The other thing that actually shocked me was the lack of any curvature to make sliding a finger across or up and down more comfy. My finger hits a sharp edge when crossing the phone sides. I ended up removing the protector altogether and ordering a different one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got the new iPhone 15 Pro on day one, preordered original titanium. The phone is beautiful and it feels perfect in my hand and I do NOT want to put a case on it. I used it for two weeks, dropped it, scuffed it, knew it was case-time.
Zagg has been in the phone protection business for as long as I can recall having a smartphone. Their films and skins have been go to products for years, and the cases came organically from that.
This case is gorgeous for the color, which changes with the angle as a subtle, iridescent rainbow. It feels so smooth, but not slick in my hand, and it’s obvious it will protect the device. One thing I hate about all cases, and this one is no exception, is the added bulk and size. The Zagg case does make the phone markedly larger, and the buttons are not particularly responsive under the case. But as cases go, this one is high quality and good looking.
It’s also MagSafe—many people make the mistake of not getting a MageSafe iPhone case. I have had both with and without, and I much prefer WITH. You never know when you’ll need it to charge somewhere or mount. The magnets on the Zagg case could be stronger. If I had a MagSafe mount in my car, I would be hesitant to depend on it because this case does not stick like others I’ve had. That’s why I removed a star.

Light Simple Great sound

All of us have been using webcams extensively since the pandemic kicked in and made video calls the standard of work from home days. I have run through a few less than stellar options and I keep struggling with getting one that handles changing light conditions without the need for a studio set up. This little JLabs camera is doing the trick quite well, and my coworkers love the sound quality.
My first thought upon removing it from the box was that it is very sturdy but also light! It sits easily atop my monitor with no heavy clunk to balance. My only complaint with position is that it does not allow for much downward tilt. So when I’m standing and working, it’s good. But from a sitting position, posture is key!
The choice of white or dark grey faceplate is a cute gimmick, but I would find a physical lens cover more useful.
Having a mic on either side of the camera definitely pays off. I’ve had several colleagues comment that the sound is crystal clear in meetings. Much better than the built in on my laptop and clearer than the other higher end webcam I use.
Overall, for the money, the sound quality and form factor make this cam a solid and attractive choice.

Easy setup, less than stellar battery life

I have other Arlo cameras inside the house for doggie cans, and I have an Arlo doorbell. All excellent products with good reliability and months between charges. This camera’s spotlight must really rack up power drains because the battery only lasts about two weeks. That would not be an issue except that the charger is completely proprietary for some reason.
Functionality and quality is fantastic as expected. The video feed is sharp and full color, even at night. The sensitivity of the motion sensor for the spotlight and camera can be adjusted. However, it is not intelligent enough to distinguish an animal or passing car from a person, so you get a lot of false positives depending on placement. More intelligence to discern those things would be much appreciated.
Think carefully about where you’ll mount the camera because you’re going to need to charge it often. Ideal placement may be at the top of an eave, but don’t put it there unless you plan to haul a ladder and extension cord out every few weeks! I tested battery stamina prior to mounting the camera and am glad I did. I ended up putting it lower and closer to an outlet.
The phone app is EASY. All my Arlo devices are on one screen and I can view activity live at a glance. Pay for subscription to keep your feeds.
I recommend for ease of use, quality, and reliability, but I stole a star for that silly charger and battery life.

Beautiful display, smooth entry level gaming rig!

I am quite impressed with the performance of this system. However, it is more of an entry-level gaming PC. During my testing, Rise of the Tomb Raider had an average of 74 frames per second with default settings and DX12. We saw the mid-90s with a few drops to mid-80s fps in Diablo IV, with settings on high. As with any computer, adjusting the graphics settings could get you better frame rates . Additionally, the 3050 Ti only has 4GB of RAM, so I recommend playing something other than triple-A titles on this system.
Overall, the laptop is responsive for daily tasks, but I did notice some stuttering in games and when loading applications. Occasionally, the delay was enough for me to think I didn't click the app, which led the app to load twice.
The display is clear and looks great for watching movies, gaming, or browsing the web. The keyboard is also comfortable and responsive. Battery life could be better, but this is not a significant issue since I primarily use it at home. The quad cooling takes some power to run, so you give up a little battery life for not overheating.
The system wasn’t shipped with loads of bloatware—big points for that! I only had to uninstall 3 applications. All the games ran smoothly once loaded, and online games were perfect. Highly recommend the Acer AN515 58 to anyone looking for a reliable, entry-level gaming laptop.

The only part of this soundbar I don’t like is the packaging! It’s a pain to unpack, but the reward is great when you do get everything out of the oddly shaped box. The form factor is genius: a soundbar with detachable surround speakers that can act as part of the whole of the 11.1 channels, as a pair of stereo Bluetooth speakers, or as single BT speakers completely independent. And all these functions are handled flawlessly.
I replaced a smaller unit with this one. The JBL is much more substantial, heavier, longer, more solid build. But the size is still in keeping with a sleek sound bar form. Mounting brackets, hardware, and template are included and well explained. I chose to leave the unit on the console below the TV, but kept the hardware and template in case we rearrange at some point in the future.
There’s minimal setup out of the box. The surround speakers attach magnetically with a satisfying click. (Also included are two attractive magnetic caps in case you decide to permanently position the surround units apart from the main bar.) Each surround has its own power button for when they are disconnected from the sound bar. They charge when attached. The subwoofer is HEAVY and BIG. But purpose is served by its size. The sound is full, undistorted and definitely room-filling. There is a very useful and simple (thank you, JBL) remote that includes a calibrate button. Pressing the button will calibrate the sound to the current configuration. Brilliant.
The sound in all configurations is delightful. We recently had a party outside and tried the stereo setup of the two surround units. They sounded great, even out on the patio where sound dissipates nearly immediately. But using the sound bar and satellites as intended is where the unit really shines. Our sofa has no table behind it, so the sats sit on the kitchen island behind the sofa. You can see why I love this feature of having temporary surround speakers when in use, and having them seamlessly attach back to the main bar for every day.
I HIGHLY recommend this system for audio quality (atmos is amazing), versatility, quality, and ease of use.

Cat litter is gross. No matter how neat the cat, how odor absorbing the littler, or how many mats are laid out, litter is gross. I love my cat. Adore him. I have said I’ll never have another one solely because of litter. We have had a top entry box before, and that was as good as we could get it. But we still had to scoop and it still stinks up wherever it is.
Enter Litter Robot 4. Yes, it looks like the Death Star, but aside from being tall, it’s about the same size as a regular litter box. The space on ground is nearly identical. So this actually is a one to one replacement size-wise. It also holds exactly the same amount of litter when you follow the instructions and fill to the line inside.
There is nearly no physical setup!! Take the included (not required!) accessories and power cable out of the box, and lift the Robot out. It’s completely plug and play. The first bag is even already installed in the waste drawer. Simply lay out the included mat, set the Robot on it, add litter to fill line, and plug it in.
The website has great tutorials and tips for getting cats to use the box. We left our old box out a couple days as advised, didn’t clean it, and kitty eventually abandoned it for the new one. There are no proprietary bags or litter products required!! Any clumping litter will work and you can use regular garbage bags.
The Whisker app lets you know when the bin is full, and it weighs your cat(s), can cycle a cleaning remotely, etc. You do not need the app or Wi-Fi to get the benefit of this machine. It’s amazing even if you prefer it not be “smart” and connected. But connecting is simple and easy to use as well.
This is a pricey unit, but the innovation and quality—not to mention NO MORE SCOOPING makes it an easily justifiable spend. I highly recommend!

I work in construction and these are supposedly noise canceling, how good are they with the outside noise and wind?
Excellent noise cancelling. I was my car with the radio on full blast and could only hear the headphones.

Our old Oster will NOTopen plastic corks easily. We need a replacement opener what are our options?
I have this model, and it opened a plastic cork with no trouble at all just last night. Just be sure to use the included foil cutter first, and you're good to go!
