Powerhouse small business option

The HP Office Jet Pro 9125e is an office work horse for your small business (or larger) printer needs. For me, I work out of my home as does my wife 50% of the time. This is a solid addition as a secondary small business printer. But being up front here, it has a fairly large footprint being 11H x 17W x 13D. So it’s large, but not all that tall. It has all the features of a office printer, it is fairly compact in size.
The printer is fairly large and more substantial than a classic home desktop printer. It’s a little over 22 pounds. That said, the set up was simple. I opted to use the set up wizard from my PC. Instead of using a wired connection to set up the printer, I did it via wifi. I am not sure how many printers you have tried that have a touch screen like this one, but they are nothing like that of your phone or tablet. They always feel like you need a stylus, and this printer is exactly the same way. That said, you can easily get your way through doing you test page and set up easily using the touch screen provided. I do like the color display on the LCD display, it is way better than the typical mono color non-touch screen displays.
This is a fairly feature packed printer. The most important thing is always print quality for me. After all, you are using this for work so you want a nice product. First for me was the scanner. I did not have a scanner on my old printer and most of the time I ended up taking pictures using my phone and creating PDF’s from them as scans. Short cut for sure, but using this scanner and getting the scan right on your computer helps a lot. Along the same lines, the printer works as a copier and provides some great copies when you need them. Additionally, although I have not tried it yet, this printer has the ability to be a fax machine. Something we needed as well, as believe it or not people still use those things. As far as the printing goes, it is exactly what I needed. I can do anything from printing addresses on an envelope to printing multi colored documents. Plus it is fast and it says it does about 35 pages per minute. Its tray holds about 250 pages as well.
One of the things you need to consider is the price of the refill cartridges. It has four cartridges and each comes in between $40-60, with a four pack costing a reasonable $122. But the great thing about laser printers is that the cartridges last forever. Seriously, they last for a long time, and investment is worth it.
At the end of the day, it comes down to whether I would recommend this to a friend or not. I would happily recommend this to a friend, and in fact I already did. It is pretty bulky, but if you have small to medium size business and you need something that will manage a variety of tools you need with one device, this is for you.

Feature packed easy to install option

The Arlo Essential 2K Outdoor wireless camera is just what I was looking for to upgrade a blind spot on my property. I don't plan on living in the house we are living in for more than a few more years, at which point we will likely move. The point of saying all that is that I don't want to drill holes and run wires all over the house and through the walls. I wanted something that would not leave any sort of footprint behind when I leave this house.
That said, this thing is wireless. Not as in you need to run the lines to give it power, and it connects to your wifi. No, it is completely wireless as in you just need to mount it in the location where you want it, and you are done. It has a battery and you don't need to run any wires at all. Currently, the camera has been going into week number three now, and I have barely put a dent into the battery life. I seemed to have missed any literature stating the battery life, but so far I am impressed. Hopefully it is at least a few months, but I am sure it depends of how active the camera is.
Speaking of camera activity, with the Arlo App you can not only set up your notifications, but you can also set up zones for areas of concerns you have. Therefore, your camera will only trip in instances where someone passes through your desired zone. I know for a fact that once I set up those zones, I had a lot less activity.
The camera itself is 2K, which appears to be typical of their economical essentials line of cameras. This has the ability to zoom in on what you are looking at, but it is only as good as your internet connection. However, it does have night vision and it works well.
Other features include your ability to communicate with people via the app through your camera, whether you are home or not. It is referred to as "noise cancellation audio," but I not too sure what that means unless it optemizes the clarity of the sound somehow. Either way, it does effectively allow for two way communication with whatever is in your sight through the camera. There is a siren as well, which I have not actually tried yet. But it is nice to know that it exists.
Everything works seamlessly through the Arlo app on your phone. The install was simple, just two screws into the wall outside. I have mine in an area that is covered by an overhang (on purpose), but it does boast that it is weather "resistant." No it does not say "proof," it says resistant, hence my use of the overhanging roof. Honestly, I was concerned most about long exposure to rain, as I live in the northwest.
This is perfect for my needs, and I highly recommend this camera to anyone that is looking for something that is EASY to install and has all the same features as the other wired versions of this camera. I will definitely be adding more of these cameras to my property, as the camera is feature packed for the price.

RIG keeps getting better and better

This is my second set of RIG headphones, and in my opinion the RIG 900 Max HX Gaming Headset is a good upgrade to my former pair and superior to some of the other headphones I have tried and owned. Out of the box, they maintain the typical oversized headphone look. The set is adjustable, and fits well over my big head and can go down to fit my 1st grader. So extremely adjustable. The cups are very comfortable, the foam feeling closer to a gel almost. So for this review, I am going to break it down by Pro and Cons, and then a summary at the end with my conclusion.
Pros:
Comfort: I really liked how these fit around my glasses. I hate the way some headphones press on my head and dig my glasses into the sides of my face. With some headphones my glasses would rest above the cups. With these I am good. Also they are very light weight, love that.

Sound: First, I always like when you can customize sound. Even better with an app. The Dolby audio is well balanced and sounds great. I am no audiophile, but I have a variety of headphones and can tell the difference between high end and low end products. This fits securely in the middle if not higher.
Price: At $250, you are getting your money’s worth plus. These are priced fairly and with all you are getting I think I would even be willing to pay a little more. I see some people referring to these are premium and saying this price is a premium price. I don’t agree with that, as we all know there are some that are way more expense. I will say again that I think these are priced correctly and I think they are worth more than you are paying.
Charging options: The headphones have two options for charging. With the provided charging station or there is a USB-C plug you can use. I have tried both and it will be up to you which one you like more. I do like having the stand.
Multitasking: You can be playing a game and take a call with the same set of headphones, switching back and forth. You can literally answer the call and go right back to your gameplay once you hang up. I think this is a feature that some would like, and it is cool since they will have the option. I personally would rather take them off and use the phone or my earbuds.
Battery life: 50 hours of battery. Enough said.
Cons:
Charging base: The charging base is rather large and takes up a little more space on my station than I want it to. So, I moved the base to a side table and have it there. But this is a very minor issue.
At the end of the day, would I recommend this to someone?Absolutely. Again, this is my second pair of RIG gaming headphones. Love my other ones, and love these even more. I recommend these for any gamer looking to get their game going at another level.

Great small emergency generator

I already have a Jackery portable generator, in fact it is a very similar model to the Explorer 300 Plus Solar Powered Generator I am reviewing here. I bought it out of necessity more than need. I use a CPAC and we had a power outage the day before a major event for my work. I needed to be on my A game and when the power went out I was done. No back up way to run my CPAP, which left me with no way to get a good night of sleep. I powered through the next day the best I could, but when I got home I ordered a Jackery Generator as I was never going to be put in that situation again.
When I saw this model though, I was excited about the solar power option. I see that some people complain about it not coming with the solar panels? Well it saws that on the box so I am not sure what the complaining is about. There is no false advertising, but I do agree that it would be nice if it came with them. I am sure you can buy a package deal somewhere, but this was not that somewhere. I still like it because it has the option to use solar power, and therefore this is an awesome option to take out into the field for camping or any other outdoor activities.
So again, the big pull for this one is the option to be able to recharge it on the go via solar. But there are other things you need to consider when you take a look at this product. First off, is it what you need for the task you have at hand? This is one of their smaller generators, so know that there are other options that can supply a lot more power for longer time periods. For me, this is just what I needed.
At just over 8 pounds it is very portable and easy to carry. If you plug it into your outlet, it takes about 2 hours to fully charge. I say that is fairly accurate, as I tried it from a dead battery and it was just under that mark. Solar powered it will take about 9-10 hours to charge, which I have not verified as of yet. The maximum battery life is rated at 46.4 hours, which I also have not verified yet. In this small of a package though, it think it is a pretty good output and more than enough for what I need. And it is an even better return for the 2 hours of charging you take to get it to 100%.
The front of the generator has a really bright flashlight which is a nice surprise. There is one standard plug in as well as one USB-A and two USB-C plug ins. It has a digital display to see where you are as far as the battery, and there is also a car (old cigarette lighter) plug in port on the front as well. Plenty of options for you to choose from, just not multiple of the same options. However, if you upgrade to a larger model you will see a lot of duplicate ports. Since most things are going to USB-C anyway, two ports of that is sufficient. I would have liked to have an additional standard plug in though.
I could not be happier with this generator. No, it will not power your house, but it will power or charge a variety of devices for you at once. I highly recommend this to anyone that has a need for it, and it is a great emergency back up item. I love it and my older version of it. Cant say enough good things about it.

The best mouse I own now.

Outside their line of earbuds, this is the first device I have had from JLabs. For the most part, from my perspective JLabs makes a quality product for a reasonable price. With that being said, I have a few different wireless mouses (Mice?) from two other brands. They are great, but they are also to or three times the price with only the basic features. Right and left buttons and a scrolling wheel, nothing else.
On the other hand, the JLabs Full Size wireless mouse is packed with features. Honestly, you get used to having a basic mouse and stepping up to this there is a slight learning curve to get most of this product. First off, it is obviously wireless (bluetooth), but it is also ergonomic. So use over time and it feels less cumbersome on your wrist. The buttons are not “clicky,” but they still give the positive feedback that is pleasing. I do however miss the click sound, although it was only two main buttons. There are a total of 9 buttons on this mouse and they are customizable via an app. I am still messing around with this, but I really the options you can do. Personally I am using it for windows shortcuts.
The mouse is rechargeable and is supposed to have a four month battery life. FOUR MONTHS. In no way, shape or form have I managed to test that timing yet, but it has been two going on three weeks and it is has no issue so far. The fact that it is rechargeable too is awesome. No more batteries.
For $30 this mouse is a no brainer. You need a new mouse, I suggest you take a look at this one. I suggest this mouse to anyone that needs a new one, I will be getting another one.

Perfect Family Printer

A printer is a printer right? Nope!
I will be straight honest from the start here. I have been wanted a ink tank printer for a while now. I like to do crafts, as do my kids. I have had injets and laserjets of all types over the years, and I currently have one B/W tank printer that is a work horse at my house. It is by far my favorite printer and although it is just black and white it has incredible detail. So to finally get on board with a color version has me pretty excited.
So on to this printer. The HP 5000 series is not the largest model they have in the ink tank line, but it has all you need for a family printer for your house. It is considered to be an All in one style printer, which in this case means it has the ability to scan and copy with the integrated flatbed scanner on top.
Out of the box the set up was fast and seamless with the HP app. I used my iPhone and they have an android option as well. The app was very intuitive and simple to use. Once you have it connected, it will ask you to print a text page, and it shows you where to place it on the scanner to optimize the settings. Once you are done with that you are finished and you can print.
Depending on the quality of the print job you want (as far as detail), the printer can print between 5 and 12 pages per minute. 12 for your black and white quick jobs, and 5 for your photo quality prints. That was according to the manual, but when I tested it I felt it did not take into consideration the fact that the printer was sitting and had to go through its warm up cycle before printing. I am not impatient, and I would prefer quality over quantity any day of the week. But just something to point out.
The printer comes with reportedly two years worth of ink. It comes with four bottles of the various inks used, and the black bottle is larger than the rest. Likely because you will use more of it. The ink has a spill proof feature, where you have to press it unto the refill tank and it clicks once you go deep enough to prevent spilling. Once you remove the bottle it reseals itself again. I have kids and one in particular is a monster that will screw with anything you tell her not to. I like this feature because I don’t think anything on earth will get this ink out of carpet if that were to happen. On the initial fill, it took most of the blue, yellow and pink ink (almost all of it) and about half the bottle of the black ink.
As far as paper capacity, the tray is neatly hidden on the back of the printer. I small flip of the back revealed the tray that holds about 100 sheets of paper, less if you use thicker paper or photo paper. The output tray holds about 30 pages, give or take as well, again depending on what you are using.
This is a great family printer option and it is not the work horse for my family of crafters and makers. There are other options for businesses and office work, but this is perfect for my situation. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone else looking for a superior option for a home or home office printer.

This is the one you want

There are a few things I look for when I want a monitor. What size is it and how is the refresh rate based on what I need it for. If I am working in my office and typing up documents and spreadsheets, I don't care about refresh rate. Even if you are watching short videos or using social media. You don't need that much. However, if you are gaming that is important.
The Asus TUF 31.5" Freesync gaming monitor is just what you need to fulfill the aforementioned two requirements. The monitor is the size of some television screens. Although large, I decided to mount it on an arm style mount to give it a floating effect on my gaming station desk. It weighs about 15 pounds, but I don't like to use the monitor stands as I like to free up the desk space.
This refresh rate for this is more than anything I've owned. Most of the TV's in my home are 120 Hz, as well as the monitors I have. I know there are other monitors out there and this is not new tech, but for me it is. The refresh rate is so fast there is absolutely no visible lag what so ever. I went and tried my version of a stress test to see if I could really see how good this monitor is and I was not disappointed. The colors are vivid and the black in the dark profile is
I am not sure what you call it, but do you know how a monitor lags behind or images streak when the monitor cannot process things fast enough? Like if you have a 60Mz TV and you try and watch a 4K movie on it? It just will not work right and the image is choppy and at times glitchy if I am saying it correctly here. There are no issues like that with this monitor. It is smooth as silk.
I have had multiple (and have multiple) Asus products and they do not miss. They make high end products for the consumer and I have never been disappointed yet. This monitor is the perfect addition to any gaming set up you have and it can handle what you are throwing at it and more. I would recommend this to anyone. Period.
The Asus TUF 31.5" Freesync gaming monitor is just what you need to fulfill the aforementioned two requirements. The monitor is the size of some television screens. Although large, I decided to mount it on an arm style mount to give it a floating effect on my gaming station desk. It weighs about 15 pounds, but I don't like to use the monitor stands as I like to free up the desk space.
This refresh rate for this is more than anything I've owned. Most of the TV's in my home are 120 Hz, as well as the monitors I have. I know there are other monitors out there and this is not new tech, but for me it is. The refresh rate is so fast there is absolutely no visible lag what so ever. I went and tried my version of a stress test to see if I could really see how good this monitor is and I was not disappointed. The colors are vivid and the black in the dark profile is
I am not sure what you call it, but do you know how a monitor lags behind or images streak when the monitor cannot process things fast enough? Like if you have a 60Mz TV and you try and watch a 4K movie on it? It just will not work right and the image is choppy and at times glitchy if I am saying it correctly here. There are no issues like that with this monitor. It is smooth as silk.
I have had multiple (and have multiple) Asus products and they do not miss. They make high end products for the consumer and I have never been disappointed yet. This monitor is the perfect addition to any gaming set up you have and it can handle what you are throwing at it and more. I would recommend this to anyone. Period.

Full of good surprises

So my middle daughter fancies herself as a future YouTuber, and with her drive it may be an option one day. She also loves wearing things with ears. Headbands, hoodies, you name it. So these Razor Kraken Kitten headphones were a must for her.
First off, like most quality electronics, the opening of the headphones is part of the experience. The packaging is nice and everything is neatly placed. It’s so nicely done that my daughter uses the package to store the headphones.
The headphones are not too heavy, and weigh in at under a pound (0.76). The construction of them is solid and they feel substantial. They have three sets of ears in the package, kitten, bunny and bear. At first I was questioning why these were so nice, yet they are wired over the ear headphones? Plus them in and I found out why! The ears light up when the draw power from the usb port. It’s actually really cool looking and has a nice soft glow.
The speakers boast Dolby 7.1 and says it can accurately pinpoint sound in games. Is he not tried that yet, I’ll be honest. But they do sound really nice. Crisp and clean sound, and though I’m not a real audiophile I’d say they are pretty well balanced. The included detachable mic works really well and can be moved in so many directions that you can easily find your sweet spot. It filters out background noise well.
So these earphones are fun and they are also purpose built to put out some great sound. Perfect for your teenager that likes that ironic look or a younger kid that takes good care of their things. I do recommend then and believe you should take a look at them. Definitely a good deal at their price point.

Great quality security system

Safety, security and piece of mind for you, your loved ones and even your possessions. The world is changing and you need to adapt. Most people have a video doorbell, and those are great to a point, but have a narrowed view depending on the set up. To me the logical upgrade is a strong security camera system. I also believe the system should be simple, otherwise most people will just not deal with it. So if the camera takes care of itself and is low maintenance people are more likely to go for it. The Night Owl 12 Channel 4 Camera 1TB DVR Security System is a solid choice.
So lets start with the cameras. They are 2-way cameras, so that means you can hear what they are seeing and speak back to whoever is on the other side. Sort of a standard option these days, if you consider most homes are being built with video doorbells. They are 2K (which is a very sharp image), full color and they have night vision capability. Also, what I like most about them is the ability to use the spotlight feature.
The cameras are hard wired cameras, so you need to run wires to set these cameras up properly. Meaning, they don’t have their own battery and work off of wifi. They run off and plug into a DVR that in my case is located inside my garage. So if you are comfortable doing the installation, go for it. It was not that hard, but it is a lot more involved than putting up Christmas lights. I am sure there are videos online, but it may be something you want a professional to do if you are not comfortable getting on a ladder to install a camera.
So many systems I researched sell you on the fact that all your data is in their cloud, nothing is local so you don’t need a DVR or some device to deal with. This all requires an internet connection. Since this system is self contained with a DVR that is 1TB, it doesn’t require internet. However, it can be connected to wifi and there is an app for your compatible phone that will give you the chance to get real time alerts and deal with things at the moment they happen.
What I didn’t know about the system until I got it, was that it is expandable and you can add to it. Be it additional cameras or a video doorbell.
At the end of the day, I am very happy with this set up with four cameras. It is more than enough to cover my two story single family home in the front, back and sides. I may add one more camera in the future, but for now I am very content. I think if you would like a home security system, this would be a great option for you or your business. I definitely recommend it and will be getting more parts for this one in the future.

Another win for the Dell XPS line

This is not my first Dell XPS series laptop, so I am well aware of the product line and the various compenant variations that are available. Being a previous xOS follower before getting a Dell XPS, I am nothing short of impressed with the product line. So when I got to try the Dell XPS 15 15.6" FHD+ Laptop - Intel Evo i7 - Intel Evo Design - Intel Arc A370M I was excited to see what it had to offer.
So, out of the box what are my first impressions? Well first it is very thin and light. At a hair over 4 pounds, the computer is pretty light. It easily fits into a backpack our a sleeve carrier if that is your preference. It appears very high end and attractive based on the combination of metal and plastic used. In particular I like the inside being black instead of white like my old XPS model. I say this because the lighted keyboard tends to show up better with the darker keyboard. At least for me it seemed that way after using both. I there are USB-C and thunderbolt ports, as well as an adapter that comes with it to give you USB-A and HDMI options. There is no DVD/CD drive, but good luck finding a computer that has one these days.
I like the size of the touchpad, but I found it to be a bit over sensitive. Maybe that is something I can adjust, I will play around with it a little more and see. The keyboard is great. The response of the keys is very satisfying and the backlighting is superior to my old XPS with this back keys. No complaints with the keyboard what so ever. It has a nice wide and ample layout.
The screen is LED and the resolution is spectacular. It is 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA), which for reference I really don’t know what to compare it to. That said, it is very vivid and sharp. The screen size is 15.4” which is perfect. The one thing I would have liked to have on this computer would have been a touch screen. Its is a simple luxury I have gotten used to. I would have liked to have it on this computer as well, however it is not a deal breaker by any means.
As far as performance, this computer is loaded. It boasts the Intel 13th Generation Core i7 Evo processor. As the brain of you computer, it is on the high end of the quality and performance scale. Multitasking is not an issues with this CPU. The computer has 512GB of SSD memory, which is both quality and more than enough for what I need it for. Plus there is 16GB of RAM to handle whatever game you want to play or other demanding applications.
On the flip side, the Intel Arc A370M graphics card is not as high end as the other components and for that it almost seems out of place. It was strange to see a good amount of RAM, with a solid CPU, and then a low to medium end graphics card. I am going to play some games and see how it balances out. Maybe I am over thinking it, but it just seemed out of place for me.
One thing that you don’t really think about with a laptop is the sound quality of the speakers. I just typically accept what it has and move on. But these little speakers really put out some sound and they sound pretty good! Like better that I expected, and I was very pleased.
As expected, this computer runs on the windows 11 platform. Which of course is the latest and greatest right now. And in my opinion a slight upgrade to 10.
So what is the verdict? It is a great laptop. Size is perfect, its ultra portable and does not feel fragile. It is packed with high end components and supported with ample memory and RAM. This is a great laptop for a student, a working professional or anyone in between. I highly recommend it and any of the Dell XPS line for that matter. They make a competitive product at a very reasonable price for what you are getting.

Can I pick up merchandise at Best Buy the same day I purchase online
If your local store has it in stock. You will be able to tell that when you go through the online check out process and select the store you want to pick up at. Better chance at a larger store, like the ones that have a huge appliance section. Otherwise, you will have to wait for it to get to the store after you order. And it that case, it would probably better to ship it to your home.

What is the process for making a latte? Is there a separate reservoir for cream or milk and if so, can powdered creamer be used since it won't spoil?
The milk frother (shown in the photo on this site) is a separate device. It is a one serving at a time sort of think. Fill it, pour it, clean it, repeat. So no worry about spoiling or powdered anything. It actually works really well. I was really surprised.

can this accommodate 12 muffins pan?
No. Look at the product page for it on the website. At the bottom it shows the dimensions of the trays it uses. Off the top of my head, I think they are 13" wide. So maybe a half dozen size pan at the most, but definitely not a dozen.

Are the volume and lock buttons easy to push with the case on?
