If you are looking for a small footprint all in one that has a touchscreen and can do everything you need it to in a small space then the ASUS A3402T all in one (AIO) is just the ticket for your needs, with some caveats.
Picking up the ASUS A3402T AIO when setting up, you can feel the heft and quality build that has gone into the unit.
This compact desktop has a 24 inch touchscreen with 8 GB of memory (not upgradable) and a 256 GB solid-state drive. With a drive that size you need to be efficient in use of disk space and perhaps have various cloud-based storage options available to you as at least for me 256 GB can be filled rather quickly.
Included is a wireless keyboard and mouse that are automatically set up to work with your PC which is a nice touch.
On top of the all in one is a 720P camera for Microsoft teams, zoom, etc.
Set up is typical Windows, you need to sign in and wait for any updates that need to be installed on the included windows 11 operating system and then you are good to go.
While the ASUS AIO has five various USB ports, 2 HDMI ports a LAN port and a USB C Port, conspicuously missing is an SD card slot which is a curious choice on the manufactures part in my opinion.
You can certainly use an adapter, but I’m just wondering about the thinking around not including one, perhaps on the side or something like that, but just go in knowing you’ll need an adapter if you have any need for an SD card slot.

The 24 inch screens video quality is pretty good. The fact that it is a touchscreen is a nice touch but one that is not necessarily needed in a desktop in my opinion.
The WebCam is only 720P so it’s serviceable but not top-notch and while speakers are included, the volume was not where I would expect it to be and the sound quality was nowhere near what I thought it should be.
The Asus AIO is quick and responsive, but with only 8 GB of RAM (that is soldered on) if you do anything that is RAM intensive you may fall short.
Don’t get me wrong. There are many positive attributes, but I just thought I would point out the caveats to take into consideration when purchasing this PC, if you need more RAM or SSD space this might not fit the bill.

The great thing about MacBooks is the simplicity of their design, however with that comes the lack of some ports and connections that you may need from time to time.

High Tech Peace of Mind

For me, now more than ever, general air quality and home safety are paramount.
With the 6 sensors in the AirThings Wave Plus consisting of: radon, CO2, humidity, temp, airborne chemicals (VOCs) and pressure you pretty much have all the bases covered.
The AirThings Wave Plus is battery operated and wireless with seamless integration in the Airthings Wave App.
Installation of the AirThings Wave Plus is easy, just download the Airthings Wave App from the App Store or Google Play Store and pull the battery tabs off of the included Pro Cell Batteries to get going.
Follow the in App instructions to connect the AirThings Wave Plus.
Installation of the AirThings Wave Plus onto your wall / ceiling is easy as well, remove the magnetic mounting plate and screw that onto the wall / ceiling then once done just pop the AirThings Wave Plus onto the mount. The strong magnet will hold it in place.
While the app integration is great there is also an easy visual way to quickly check your levels. Just wave in front of the Wave and overall air quality is indicated by a simple Red / Yellow / Green halo of light to indicate Good / Fair / Poor air quality.
For me, monitoring for radon, CO2, humidity, temp, airborne chemicals (VOCs) and pressure is great and understating levels with the app is great too, but the real “killer app” for the AirThings Wave Plus is its integration into If This Than That (IFTTT) that will then integrate with everything from heat pumps to, humidifiers, de-humidifiers etc.
I have the AirThings Wave Plus installed at a second home and have peace of mind knowing if the humidity reaches unacceptable levels by integrating with IFTTT I can have my de-humidifier turn on and bring things to the right level.
Overall a great piece of engineering and one that I will rely on for many years to come.

If you are looking for a versatile portable projector that can go from 25 inch screen size to over 300 inches then look no further than the Epson CO-W01.
The portability trade off in the spec department is the resolution which only offers WXGA (1280x800) brightness is fantastic at 3,000 Lumens and the Epson CO-W01 has 3-chip 3LCD tech that accurately displays 100% of the RGB color signal. Manual Keystone correction is possible with both horizontal and vertical image adjustments.
The Epson CO-W01 also has a built in speaker for business PowerPoint presentations or watching movies without the need for additional sound amplification. With the HDMI connector in the rear you can have your laptop, Apple TV, Firestick or other video source playing in full living color in no time.
I have used the Epson CO-W01 for a couple of weeks now and have taken it with me on the road to project a PowerPoint presentation in a meeting in a bright meeting room and have also used it to stream Netflix from my Apple TV.
The picture looks great (for the resolution its capable of) even in bright settings. The speaker is ok but at only 5W is a bit lacking in the volume and sound quality department it certainly works in a pinch but an external speaker / amplifier of some sort is a cut for any quality sound or louder volume levels needed.
Overall the entry level Epson CO-W01 is a great all around, portable projector.

Next Level Smart Lock / Doorbell Cam

I have been an early adopter of Smart Home Technology and have had a number video doorbells and smart locks over the years with various levels of ease of operation and integration into my home.
The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock started out as a very successful Kickstarter Campaign that is now available to the public for regular purchase.
The most important thing to consider whenever looking at a smart lock is how compatible it is with your current door lock / hardware. The good news is with the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock if you have the traditional backset deadbolts (2 3/8 or 2 3/4) this system will work for you no problem.
Included is the lock / camera / bell that is mounted on your door and a doorbell chime unit.
The battery needs to be charged for about 6 hours before install so do this the night before your install if you can.
The only tool you need is a Philips head screwdriver for this installation.
Remove your existing lock and deadbolt and install the included Eufy deadbolt.
Once this is installed, push the exterior assembly through your door lock hole making sure to thread the two wires underneath the deadbolt assembly.
The interior assembly has the assembly itself and a back cover that is mounted to the door and bolted to the from assembly through the holes, connect the wires from the front to the interior assembly and secure to the back cover with three screws.
Do not let this need for assembly intimidate you in the least, it is very easy and should take you no longer than 15 minutes tops.
One thing to note, the finish on the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock has a flat black appearance, we had silver hardware on our door so in addition to the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock installation I took the opportunity to also install a new door knob to match.
Next you need to install a Micro SD Card (for local video storage) in the Doorbell Chime Module that will act as a chime (customizable with different tones) and the bridge between your lock and your WiFi.
Install the app on your smartphone and start setup. The chime is installed first then you link the doorbell unit to the chime.
Install is quick and easy.
The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock opens with a code or fingerprint and in case of emergency also has a key in the event of a power or internet outage etc
Programming different codes and fingerprints for all family members is a breeze.
The camera has AI and recognizes if people are at the door and the video quality is crystal clear. The lock is easy to lock with one touch when leaving the house and the fingerprint feature works flawlessly.
The only issue I have (and its one that will be short lived) is there is no extra battery available as of yet. Eufy says the battery will last many months with “regular” use but I’m never regular and always want an extra on hand, I will feel more comfortable when I have an extra battery that I can swap out quickly once the one in the lock needs to be charged.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the review, I have had many a smart lock and this one is the easiest to use and most importantly my kids and wife love the ease of use and operation, to me this is a best in class Smart Lock.

The Epson Workforce WF-2960 is a Wireless All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer with Built-in Scanner, Copier, Fax and Auto Document Feeder.
Included in the box is the WF-2960, power cord and 4 Epson 222 regular capacity printer ink cartridges Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and one Black ink cartridge.
The WF-2960 Wireless All-in-One is only compatible with Epson Original 222 regular or XL Cartridges as per the manual and at this time due to the newness of the WF-2960, 222 cartridge availability is limited but this should get better as time goes by. This line of ink is from Epsons Claria Ink series that as per Epson is supposed to deliver vibrant color and sharp text for long-lasting, high-quality results.

I plugged the WF-2960 in and downloaded the companion Epson Smart Panel App that is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

I was able to follow the step by step instructions on my phone to set up the WF-2960 and added the ink and paper. Epson reccommends calibrating the print heads first so that’s what I did, following all the prompts.
Once it was all calibrated it was time to print. I do most of my printing wirelessly from iOS devices and or Apple Macs.
The Epson Workforce WF-2960 worked flawlessly and showed up on all my “Printers” choices when using apps on my phone, Mac and iPads. Print speed was quick enough for me and it also has double side printing capacity to cut down on paper use if needed.
Print quality is great and if using good quality photo paper the WF-2960 even does a great job at printing photos.
The Epson Workforce WF-2960 facilitates making copies with ease and if you fax (not many people still do) it has Fax capability as well.
Overall if you need a great all around office tool the Epson Workforce WF-2960 fits the bill and more.

High powered versatility

As someone who travels multiple times a month for business Im always on the hunt for versatile wall chargers that I can easily take with me and will help to make sure I have all the juice I need when I need it. Having a dead iPhone or laptop while traveling can mean the difference between being able to do ones job or missing that video conference call.
The Insignia 65W Dual Port V30 Series Wall Charger certainly fits the bill and gives me the peace of mind I need while on the go.
Another feature I look for in my chargers is retractable plug blades for easy packing away in my backpack and the Insignia V30 has them.

The first thing you notice is how big and heavy the box the Technics SL 1210G comes in is. Mine was delivered in a huge box that then had the main box with the turntable inside. The Technics SL 1210G Direct Drive Turntable is a formidable piece of equipment that weighs in at almost 40 lbs.
Everything about this turntable scream’s quality…from the direct drive motor to the aluminum, brass and rubber platter to the magnesium tone arm. The finish, craftsmanship and materials are second to none.

I assembled the platter, tonearm weights etc, installed and adjusted my Audio-Technica cartridge and then paired the Technics SL 1210G with a tube preamp that I then fed to my Sonos Amp.
One thing to remember about turntables is having a good ground connection is key, once securing that I was ready to give the Technics SL 1210G a listen.
The first album up was the Beatles Sgt Peppers 2017 Stereo Mix starting with the title song.
The analog sound from the Technics SL 1210G was nothing short of amazing. Something about the warmth and the slight static brings one back to when we listened to music from a thing we could physically hold rather than something that is in the ether or in a file of 1’s and 0’s.
I next tee’d up Princes Purple Rain and again was wowed by the sound, stereo separation and overall sound stage.
My 17 year old daughter and her friend were wowed by what vinyl records are, how they work, sound etc.
And there is nothing that beats studying an albums cover art and reading lyrics from the cover rather than on an iPhone or other electronic device.
The Technics SL 1210G is a great state of the art piece of audio equipment utilizing the latest materials in a best in class analog music source. I’m looking forward to many years of listening pleasure.

Crazy Good All Around Thin Laptop

When first liberating the Lenovo - Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition 16" WQXGA Gaming Laptop from the foam in the box you first notice the quality feel of the body and the weight of it….and how thin it is. What’s funny (at least for me) about laptops is if they are too light they feel cheap and if they are too heavy well…they are too heavy….this one weighs just over 4.5 lbs so its on the heavy side but for its size etc I’d say its just right especially given the metal lower portion and surround on the edges.
Its got a gorgeous 16 inch IPS screen that is super bright with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX Processor with great AMD Radeon Graphics. It has 1TB SSD storage which is more than enough for most and given the SSD it is whisper quiet.
The Lithium-ion Polymer Battery gives up to 12 hrs of battery life (YMMV) depending on what you are doing. Hardcore gaming, not so long, internet browsing and normal office functions such as Excel, word etc will give you the max battery life.
The keyboard is responsive and the backlight illuminates the keys nicely and the Harman Speakers sound pretty good, but not amazingly good.
Any game I threw at it, the Lenovo - Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition ate up and anything less than processor heavy games was a breeze for this great all around laptop.
It did run hot at times but not exceedingly so.
For a great everyday thin (did I say thin?) high performing laptop with a SSD then look no further.

The Bella Pro Series 8Qt TouchScreen Air Fryer is just what you need if you love the taste of fried foods but want to eat healthier at the same time.
The Bella Pro Series 8Qt TouchScreen Air Fryer is a large capacity air fryer with its 8 Qt capacity. As with all air fryers you can only fill to about 2/3 full anyway so the more capacity the better.
The Bella Pro Series 8Qt TouchScreen Air Fryer also features a divider for use in the fry basket to allow you to fry two different food items at the same time, the only caveat being they need to be cooked at the same temperature and time so the versatility only goes so far.
The Bella Pro Series 8Qt TouchScreen Air Fryer is a high quality item and the touch screen is easily readable and very responsive.
A good rule of thumb when using an air fryer is to have a good quality food thermometer to make sure what you are cooking has reached the proper internal temperature. Additionally, its always best to use spray oil whether its Olive oil or just plain vegetable oil, as its easier to coat your food and with the least amount of oil.
I was armed with my thermometer and some chicken drumsticks (that I brined overnight) and I was ready to go!
I made the drumsticks with panko breadcrumbs and seasoning. After I coated the drumsticks I refrigerated for about an hour before I air fried them as that’s a best practice and should always be done.
After about 25 minutes my drumsticks were done, they came out unbelievable, I would have posted pics but my daughter and I ate them so fast that by the time I thought about taking pics all we had were chicken bones.

Is there a way to download the software not by CD? My computer is an an ultrabook and doesn’t have a CD/DVD drive.
You can just add the printer in your printer settings via WiFi, I did not have to use the CD to load any drivers.

I want to use HUE lights with this. Can I buy a 2nd Google Home for my 2nd floor so both floors can access Home to turn off/on lights? If my phone (synced to Home) is out of the house, will voice activation still work for the lights?
This will work with Hue, you should be able to have multiple units in your house and they will work without the phone that is linked to them in the house.
