Excellent USB4 Hub for MacBook Pro!

I was looking for compact USB Hub for my MacBook pro for portability during travel. I got j5create - 4K60 Pro USB4 Hub with MagSafe Kit. It is ultra slim and light weight with stylish design. It is designed for MacBook Pro 21/22 models and compatible with MacBook Pro with Intel CPU. It has 1 USB4 port which is capable of 6K60 resolution, 40Gbps data transmission and PD charging up to 100W.
The HDMI port supports resolution up to 4K @ 60 Hz. There are 2 USB Type-A 3.2 Gne 2 ports provide up to 10Gbps transfer spend and 1 USB C 3.2 Gen 2 port provide up to 10Gbps transfer speed. It is great to see that a Hub provides all types of USB ports along with high resolution display ports. Fantastic Soundbar with Outstanding Sound!

I was looking to upgrade my outdated 10-year-old floor standing sound system for a while and decided to buy premium soundbar with dolby atmos support. I got Devialet - Dione Dolby Atmos Soundbar - Dark Grey. It came with Devialet - Dione soundbar, one High Speed HDMI Cable (supported by Dolby Atmos), one TOSLINK Optical cable, Power Cable, Documentation, Wall Mount Guide and Accessories. Setup is quick and easy. I have connected the power card on the soundbar and downloaded the Devialet app from app store on my iPhone. After completing the registration with email, it automatically recognized the soundbar. I have followed the steps to configure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and completed the setup without any issues. There was latest firmware available and installed the firmware within few minutes. From connectivity standpoint, this sound bar has one HDMI input, Ethernet port and optical port. The build quality is great and this soundbar weighing around 26 lbs. It came with mounting hardware in case if anyone wanted to mount on the wall. I have used my media center to place the soundbar.
There is no remote came with this soundbar and all configurations can be done in phone app including sound adjustment. In the app, it is easy set default settings per source like Movie, Music and Spatial. There is an option for room calibration, and it took less than a minute to complete the room calibration. There is a toggle option for bass reducer mode. Under Advanced settings, there is an option for Dione position with Automatic, Shelf and Wall-mounted options. LED status has Auto, Always on and Always off options. Under Tips section, there are tips for Audio modes, User Interface, Central sphere orientation, Room calibration and Cables & connectivity. Under Information, serial number and firmware version information are available.
I have connected the soundbar with HDMI eARC input as most of the devices like Apple TV, Shied Pro and XBOX X directly connected to TV inputs. I have played few movies from Netflix and Prime with Atmos sound and blown away with sound quality from this soundbar. The sound is crystal clear and filled the room with surround sound. I played music via Bluetooth from Spotify and YouTube Music, and it automatically switch to music mode. The songs from YouTube or Spotify sounded so good from this quality soundbar. With the proprietary SPACE technology, it upscales any stereo-encoded 2.0 signal into 5.1.2. With Devialet's Advanced Dimensional Experience patent (ADE) combines innovative speaker placement with advanced digital filters to deliver superior sound restitution all around. With 17x Devialet custom neodymium drivers, 9x Full-range aluminum drivers 8x Aluminum long-throw subwoofers, the sound quality is outstanding for movies and music. It comes with 2-year manufacturer warranty. Devialet - Dione is one of the best soundbar with Atmos sound.

I always put screen protector for iPhones for my family members and got Insignia Anti-Reflective Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 14 Pro Max (4 Pack). It came with Insignia Anti-Reflective Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 14 Pro Max (4-Pack), 4 wet and dry cloths, 4 dust removal adhesive, 4 polishing cloth, Alignment tool and Quick Setup Guide. The installation is super easy as I was able to install the screen protector in less than 5 minutes for each iPhone. I have cleaned up with wet and dry cloths first and used dust removal adhesive to remove any dust from the screen. The alignment tool helped to install the screen protector perfectly. There is no bubble at all after the installation.
The Anti-reflective technology with a transparency rate of 94% provides extreme clarity in strong outdoor light and eliminates other lighting impacts for a clearer view. Outstanding 1080p HD Webcam!

I have been looking for a better webcam with 1080p resolution for office video calls. Logitech - Brio 500 Webcam is an excellent choice. It came with Brio 500 with an attached USB-C Cable, Mount Clip with a removable mount adapter, and user documentation. Setup is relatively easy and connected with a desktop PC. It is a plug and plays and no driver is needed to work. I have downloaded Logi Tune desktop software to utilize the full potential of this webcam. This webcam supports 1080p HD with a 90-degree field of view. It has a privacy cover which is a really nice feature.
I have tried the video quality without any adjustments and out of the box, the quality was outstanding. I have used this webcam for many Zoom / MS teams calls and everyone was saying the video quality is very good.
It has an integrated microphone and works really well. It is a perfect webcam for high-quality video calls. Auto Light Correction with RightLight 4 technology, video lighting technology automatically adjusts to the lighting based on the environment.
Auto-Framing with RightSight technology centers the video camera and allows it to stand and move during meetings without leaving the frame. Show Mode is another nice feature to present the work on the objects on the desk by tilting the camera up and down in one hand. Dual Noise Reduction Microphones work great and filter out background sound during calls. It is a great webcam with lot of features and works great during office / personal calls.

Quality video doorbell with great features!

I was looking to upgrade my front doorbell to a video doorbell and got Google - Nest Doorbell Wired (2nd Generation) – Snow. It came with a Nest Doorbell, Base plate, Chime puck, wedge, wire connector, Hex key, 2 sets of wall screws, anchors and spacers, extra security screw, window decal, and quick start guide. The setup is easy. I have turned off the power and removed the old doorbell. I have watched the installation video which was very helpful to install the doorbell. Google Home app does provide step-by-step instructions as well. The entire installation took only 15 mins, and the latest firmware was available to update.
The video quality is superb during daytime as well as nighttime with HDR. There is no subscription required for recording and 3 hours of event video history are included by default. The wired Nest Doorbell spots and records important activity with clips up to 5 minutes long and 2-second previews for context. If the Wi-Fi goes out, the Nest Doorbell automatically records events for up to an hour. When it’s back online, it is easy to see exactly what happened during that time. I have subscribed to Nest Aware plan which provided more functionalities like Facial recognition, package recognition, and recordings for 30 days. Visitor announcements (with Nest Aware plan) can be enabled in the Google Home app under the settings. It is easy to view the live camera feed on the Nest display by saying “Hey Google, show me my front doorbell”. I have used Quick Response which is handy during meetings and quiet time is another great feature to disable the doorbell ring for a specific time.
With the recent launch of Google home on the web, it was very convenient to watch the live video feed from a laptop or desktop. With Software tuning and Machine learning improvements, the video quality is better than other doorbells quality I have seen at other places. With the vertical field of view, it is easy to see head to toe, including packages as close as 8” from the doorbell. It is definitely a great addition to the existing Google ecosystem at home.

Outstanding 4K gaming monitor with Mini LED!

I have been using large monitors for office work and gaming. Samsung - Odyssey Neo G8 32" Mini LED is one of the best monitors I have ever owned. It came with a monitor, stand, power adapter, USB 3.0 cable, DisplayPort 1.4 cable, metal VESA mount adapter, and a removable rear trim panel. It was very easy to assemble the stand as per the instructions provided in the quick guide. It took only 15 mins to assemble the stand in the box. After the stand assembly, I connected the monitor with a power card and display port cable to my MacBook pro hub. It recognizes the monitor without any issues.
The picture quality is outstanding in Odyssey Neo compared to the other 4K monitor I was using for work/gaming. The colors are deep and vibrant, and the gaming graphics are smooth as butter. It was 120hz by default which can be changed to 240hz in the settings. The Quantum Mini-LED with Quantum HDR2000 delivers exceptional picture quality and a superior gaming experience. I was using a flat panel 34” monitor before and now the curved screen in Odyssey Neo G8 is a totally different world of experience and 1000R curvature brings gaming worlds to reality. Odyssey Newo G8 is the world’s first 4K gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate along with 1ms response time and FreeSync premium pro. The Local dimming zones were increased to 1,196 and combined with the highest 12-bit black levels to create unmatched picture quality.
With Quantum HDR 2000, everything on this screen is crisp and clear and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio enables enhanced color expression and depth. With the support of Adaptive-Sync with AMD Radeon graphics cards and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards keeps the GPU and panel synced up to eliminate choppiness, screen lag, and image tears. I have tried various fast-action games with complex game scenes, and everything was stutter-free and had no lag at all. The color lighting around the monitor is so good. The Picture in the picture is another nice feature that allows connecting another device same time. I was using this feature more often to watch games while working. The ergonomic stand allows swiveling, tilting, and adjusting the height and it is fully compatible with VESA-standard monitor arms. The power adapter is very large and took up a lot of space on the desk and it could have been smaller.
There are many settings that can be configured by pressing the menu button under the monitor. There are various menu options under Game, Picture, PIP, OnScreen Display, System, and Support. The screen brightness, color, eyecare, refresh rate, and picture mode can be changed based on user preference. There are no integrated speakers or built-in cameras. It comes with 1-year manufacturer warranty. This is one of the best gaming monitors with excellent specification and Samsung has done it again with Odyssey Neo G8 monitor.

Slim and Powerful Gaming Laptop!

I have been using Gaming Desktops and laptops and looking for a high-end slim gaming laptop for portability. I got a Lenovo - Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition 16" WQXGA Gaming Laptop. The packaging is excellent, and this laptop is very slim with an elegant design. It has premium look and is beautifully crafted. In the box, it came with a laptop, charger, and User guide. Setup is relatively easy. I have connected the desktop with 32inch 4K monitor using an HDMI cable. It came with Windows 11 operating system. It took less than 10 mins to connect with Microsoft account and update all necessary drivers with the latest version. It has an excellent configuration to play any PC games. It has AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX @ 3.3GHz mobile processor with smart eight-core, sixteen-way processing performance. The 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display with a 165Hz refresh rate boasts impressive color and clarity.
It has 16GB DDR5 onboard for advanced multitasking and substantial high-bandwidth RAM to smoothly run complex games and photo- and video-editing applications, as well as multiple programs and browser tabs all at once. This laptop came with a 1TB SSD. Due to SSD, boot-up is very fast and data access is instant. The graphics card is AMD Radeon RX 6800S GPU with 8GB GDDR6 dedicated video memory for a fast, advanced GPU to fuel any type of game. AMD Radeon RX 6800S is an amazing graphics card, and I was able to use my Samsung Neo 49" monitor to pair up with this laptop. I must admit that the graphics are simply superb. Due to the high-end graphics card, the picture quality is really crystal clear on the big screen for 4K videos. There is no Thunderbolt port and ethernet port on this laptop.
This laptop has Windows 11 Home operating system and weighs 4.51 lbs and measures only 0.83" thin. This laptop has many ports 1x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.2 Type-A, and 2x USB 3.2 Type-C. It comes with a 1080P Built-in HD webcam with a microphone for video calls and office calls. There is a physical switch on the right side of the base to turn the webcam on/off. The keyboard is Backlit for easy typing in dim or dark locations. It supports Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) for faster downloads while playing online games. The sound quality of the speaker is great during Streaming, recording, and gaming. Battery life is excellent and provides 8 hours of continuous usage. The speaker’s sound quality is not great and it could have been better. It is not a big issue for me as it is connected to my external speakers.
I have been using this laptop for a week now and played various games. All games were working perfectly without any issues. It is running very quietly and did not get warm either. I am using it every day and can play any PC games and video / photo editing as it handles everything without any glitches. Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop is an excellent gaming laptop except speaker sound quality, and it comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty.

GoPro HEREO11 is a huge upgrade from my HERO9. In the box, it came with GoPro HERO11 Black Action Camera, Enduro battery, carrying case, curved adhesive mount, Mounting buckle, Thumb screw, USB-C cable, and Owner's manual. Setup is quick and easy. After a full charge, I turned on the camera and it was showing the HERO11 in the Quick app to pair. The latest firmware was available and updated immediately. It is the world’s most versatile action camera and the video quality is incredible with resolutions such as Cinematic 5.3K60 + 2.7K240 and a whopping 24.7-megapixel high-resolution photos.
The new larger image sensor delivers and breathtaking extra-large field of view. The HyperSmooth 5.0 video stabilization with horizon lock is added feature. I took this camera for a mountain bike ride and the videos are very stable with HyperSmooth 5.0 video stabilization ON setting. The long-lasting Enduro Battery is a nice upgrade and extends recording time up to 35%. With GoPro yearly subscription, the videos and phones will be uploaded to the cloud. Like other GoPro cameras, HERO11 is waterproof to 33ft. It worked flawlessly in snorkeling on our trip to Hawaii, Kauai.

Three new night modes will allow the taking of amazing night photos/videos. Like Star Trails, a vehicle light trail is another amazing feature. HERO11 is compatible with 40+ mounts, mods, and accessories and I was able to all my existing accessories including Max Lens Mod, Media Mod, and Light Mode used for HERO 9 without any issues. GoPro HERO11 is the world’s best action camera for now with a lot of features and delivers beautiful videos and photos.

It comes with a unique design ensures that any wireless device can receive a strong signal and software contains several features that make it especially best for gaming. Setup is quick and simple. All devices connected without any issues and ping was much faster than previous router setup (32ms to 6ms).
I have done a speed test and compare the results with my previous mesh router. I got 260 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload with a ping of 33 ms. With ASUS AX6000, i got 305 Mbps and 30 Mbps with best ping of 5 ms. The wireless range is amazing, and it exceeded my expectation. A Complete Home Security System!

SimpliSafe 12 Piece Whole Security Kit is a complete security system and installation is quick and easy. It took less than 30 mins to install the base, control pad, motion sensor, and entry alarms for all doors/windows. The packaging is excellent, and it came with a Base station, keypad, six entry sensors, a motion sensor, an indoor camera, two outdoor cameras, Batteries, Security Decals, a Yard sign, and 3 ft. Stake. Setup is easy by downloading the Simplisafe app from the App store. The instructions are very clear in the app and followed the steps by adding the base station first followed by entry sensors, motion sensors, and cameras. The design of the base is good, and the size of the entry sensors is very compact as well.
There are many options under General Settings to adjust alarm siren volume, voice prompts, Base station light, Alarm Siren duration, Exit Delay, and Entry Delay for Home / Away modes. In Device settings, there are options to set Instant Trigger, change Alarm modes with Alarm, Secret Alert, and Disabled options. Under Camera settings, there are options to set camera behavior for Home / Away modes, Motion detection, Picture Quality (max 1080p), Night vision, and Status light. Privacy shutter is a nice feature to disable video during the home mode. The option to create an arming remainder is a great feature. I was able to rename the values by specific location in the keypad so that they can be identified which is open or closed.
I was able to install the outdoor cameras and installation was a breeze. The video quality is outstanding for both indoor and outdoor cameras. The night color vision is great. If you’re looking to do all the home monitoring on your own, you can do it for free with this system, but the features will be very limited. It will allow you to arm and disarm from the app, get to see a timeline of events (arming/disarming, doors opening/closing, camera detections), and option to view a live feed of your cameras, but camera detections will not come with corresponding recordings. The interactive Monitoring plan includes 24/7 Police Dispatch, Unlimited Camera Recording, 24/7 Fire & Medical Dispatch, Video Verification, 24/7 Flood & Extreme, Temperature Monitoring, Subscription lifetime warranty, and Self-Monitoring with Camera Recordings plan has Unlimited Camera Recording and up to the 1-year total warranty. It is a perfect product for those who don't have an existing pre-wired for home security system. SimpliSafe provided products to satisfy those user needs with competitive pricing to enable home security.

I bought this router to replace my perfectly working Asus RT-66R model. I wanted to change my router just to get bit more range in my new 2200sqft home. Prior to getting this router I have tried one of the best range extender Ampedwireless AE-20. It’s range was excellent, but connection was very much degraded and struggled to get connected at times though it was set up to clone settings from original router.
So, after reading few positive reviews on BBY and mixed reviews on amazon, I decided to give new Nighthawk R8000 a try. I am happy with its slightly improved range than Asus and very much disappointed with its 2.4Ghz performance. I have more than 15 years of network experience and I really don’t bother tech support unless until it is really out of my hand and hardware specific.
Here I am trying to do a fair comparison with two routers I have (Asus & Netgear) + sign means “better” and – signs means “poor”
Wired Connection:

At this point I called customer service and it sounded like they kind of aware of the issue. With minimal trouble shooting and changing the channels to their recommended channels (01, 06, 09 & 11), there was no improvement. So they asked me to degrade from 600Mpbs to 289Mbps and it started working.
So technically now their claim of 3200Mbps became 2911Mbps.
Access Control:
+ RT-66R has fairly good access control capabilities. You can schedule what time of the day each device can access the internet. This feature is important for me as I found it is very useful with kids on top of parental control settings.

- R8000 access control only let you allow or deny connecting a particular device. You cannot decide what time it should be able to connect. – Major drawback for me.
Parental Control:
- RT-66R has poor parental control settings, but with an option to point DNS to OpenDNS we can achieve better parental control settings with their FREE offerings.
+R8000 – also use OpenDNS but with dedicated service assigned to netgear so that you can add bypass account also which can’t be done with OpenDNS free account. This is the only additional benefit I found with this router so far compared to RT-66R.
VPN:
+ RT-66R is also able to use OpenVPN with mobile access with their free App. I was abe to access local network using iOS and Android devices with no issues.

+R8000 – very useful feature if you have your router in bedroom or other place you don’t like lot of flashing lights. Can be accessed via web GUI and with a dedicated hard button at the rear of the router.

Though Netgear has a simple interface and easy to follow GUI, it lack modern look and feeling. I like Asus GUI better.

Customer service:

- Netgear – Though I received prompt customer service when I called, it was shocking to learn that the phone support is only available for 90 days of purchase, then you have to pay PREMIUM subscription to get phone support.
CONCLUSION:
I have thoroughly tested all important feature that I need. Rest of the features are generic to me and I am not bothered much about them.
I am sure this router with Dual 5.0Ghz network will be very useful for those who have new wireless devices. For me I have a lot of devices that depends on 2.4Ghz frequency such as smoke detectors, thermostat, laptop that connects to NAS for backup etc. and degraded and unreliable 2.4Ghz network make it absolutely worthless considering the amount I spent on this router.
I am seriously thinking to take this back to the store. I don’t see any point in spending almost double amount of money to get a couple of benefits and a lot of drawbacks and pay for a premium to get their phone support if needed to an overpriced product.
I would not recommend this router at its current price and it is unable to meet its original claims and comes with a premium phone support after 90 days.

Please reach out to Netgear Support. I had similar issue in my home (2800 square feet) during the setup and Support asked me to change settings in Router page and now i am getting superior coverage in 2.4 and 5 Ghz for all 17 connected devices.

There are not much Android tablets with premium specs in the market compare to Apple iPad, but Samsung is not ready to give up the fight with the release of high-end Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 with significantly updated specs, HDR screen and improved S Pen support. It is equally positioned with iPad Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 screen has a 9.7-inch 1536 x 2048 Super AMOLED display with support of HDR content and it matches the iPad Pro 9.7 in size and resolution. Samsung Tab S3's screen size and resolution have not changed with pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. It has Super AMOLED display, for brighter, richer colors. The main upgrade over the Tab S2 is HDR content support. There is not a huge amount of HDR content yet, but once there is this it will be really helpful with Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Another big change for this model is that there's no 8.0-inch option, Tab S3 only coming in a 9.7-inch size.
Tab S3 has metal and glass build with similar size to Tab S2. Samsung upgraded the design for the Galaxy Tab S3, replacing the soft plastic back of the Tab S2 with a glass one, but retaining the metal frame. The overall appearance like an oversized Samsung Galaxy S7.
While cameras are never the highlight of a tablet, Samsung Tab S3 came with 13MP back side camera and 5MP front facing camera with LED flash. It does include an autofocus and can record 4K video at 30fps.Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 came with 6,000mAh one and it can last up to 12 hours of video playback. I have used more than 10 hours without any issues. It supports fast charging via USB Type-C, so you shouldn't be waiting too long.
Tab S3 runs the latest major version of Android 7.0 overlaid with Samsung's own interface. It came with quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 only comes in one size - 32GB, but it also has a microSD card slot with support for cards of up to 256GB if you need more storage for apps and games.
Beyond the core specifications, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is packed full of features, including support for Samsung's S Pen stylus. It is one of the best android tablet with premium features and equally matching iPad Pro. It worked really well with Samsung Book Cover Keyboard for accurate and comfort typing.

Apps can be downloaded from Google Play or Samsung Store. If you are looking for side loading apps from 3rd party, you can do that as well. It is similar like S2 with upgraded features.

Yes. It is much better than X6 or X8. I am getting 300+ mbps in all over the places in my house.

Can you use with comcast.
Yes. It will work with any ISPs. You just need to connect router with your modem and during setup it will identify the satellite as well.
