Best Car stereo receiver I've owned hands down

This is a great car stereo receiver. I've had many over the years, but this one is clearly the best I've ever had. The screen is bright, the sound is flawless and it has all the smartphone functions you need. I paired it with a iDatalink maestro to keep all my factory controls and inputs also to allow for using the second zone for the back. I used the Navigation to go from GA to MN, about 1300 miles and it worked like a champ, actually better than any I've used in the past. I even used the detour function to get around some construction and it did a great job at that as well. This unit has a very nice DAC in it, it will play FLAC HD lossless audio files up to 192/24 from USB or the internal SD card slot (which I've been using). The sound is amazing and it also gives you complete control over the speaker levels, which is very nice. The listening position function works well as does the graphic equalizer. I even love the feature that allows you to use your own images for the splash screen and backgrounds. For today's standards, it's a little more than other units, but is well worth it.
So far the only thing I can say negative about it is that fingerprints stay on the screen pretty bad, but I've just gotten in the habit of wiping it off at night after work with a microfiber cloth.

Featuring triple 6-1/2" bass cones, a 6" midrange cone and a 1" tweeter, this Bowers & Wilkins CM10 S2 floorstanding speaker fills a large room with stunning, true-to-life audio. The tweeter-on-top design ensures studio-grade sound is emitted.

Great speaker that outperforms it's price

Helped a friend install a new home theater system with these speakers at the heart. After I dialed them in they performed excellent. Very open and full sound that works great in a multichannel setup as well as by themselves in stereo. The imaging is amazing on these. If you can't jump up into the diamond series these are the next best thing.

Best streaming device I own (and I have them all)
on February 21, 2014

I use it in...:Large home
Verified Purchase:Yes
I've used streaming from a Roku, a Chromecast and from my smart TV and none of them give the picture quality and overall performance of the Apple TV. It's got most of the major apps you expect plus if you have Mac's and iTunes it will be even better as the integration is wonderful. Before this Roku was my favorite streaming device but now it's hard to go back to the Roku after experiencing Apple TV. I have a feeling I'll end up buying at least one more of these. A truly great product

What's great about it: The performance is excellent and has a very nice interface
What's not so great: No Amazon Prime Application (although you can airplay it)

Effective Noise Canceling and Great Overall Sound
on November 21, 2008

I work in an office with a lot of background noise, mostly fan's like an airplane at cruising altitude. My old headset finally gave out so I broke down and decided to go for noise canceling headphones, mostly to block out the fan noise at the office when I need some piece and quite but also for traveling. I compared the following 3 headphones in my office setting, basically the best that Best Buy had to offer me at the time: Sennheiser PXC350 $300, Bose QC2 $300, Bose QC3 $350 and the Monster Beats $350, here's how I would rate them for sound performance and noise canceling effectiveness:
Sound Performance: The Beats are the clear winner in this category, they aren't quite audiophile quality but have awesome sound as compared to the other noise canceling headphones. I would say the PXC350's would be a "not very close" 2nd, QC2's come in 3rd as they have a bit better bass response and the QC3's in my opinion come in 4th overall for sound.
Noise Canceling: The QC3's are the clear winner in this category, if you're looking for a set of noise canceling headphones 1st and don't mind taking a hit on sound these would defiantly fit the bill, while the battery life isn't great they make up for it with the silence they bring. QC2's are 2nd, again great canceling, definitely what Bose main objective was with this series, The Beats come in a respectful 3rd while the PXC350's are 4th overall but also get the job done, as far as the noise canceling goes they all meet my requirements.
So if you're looking for sound 1st in a very good noise canceling mobile headset the Monster Beat's are great, yes they are definitely overpriced but most of the higher end noise canceling headsets are no different, if you want to cancel most of the noise you're going to pay a premium for the technology. They are designed for mobile technology (MP3 players/Laptops/etc) and actually sound worse when hooked to a higher powered headphone jack (like a home stereo receiver or pre-amp), I hooked them to my Yamaha DSP-A1 and they had a noticeable background hiss that would be very annoying, but then again I’m not buying them for my home stereo needs but I wanted to mention it in case others were looking at them for this type of application.
The Beats have great mid and wonderful highs and produce a nice rich sound, Dr. Dre, Jimmy Lovine & Monster did a great job engineering these headphones. (You definitely get more for your money on their headphones versus the cables for those who are shying away based on past cable experience) The only drawback, outside of the price, I experienced is the sound leakage if you like to listen to your music loud, make sure you're cube neighbors like the music as they will hear most of it as well.
I'm truly satisfied with their overall performance and would have no problem recommending them to my friends if they're looking to spend $300+ on this type of headset. They are definitely not for the audiophiles out there that are used to listening threw a pre-amp or receiver, but noise canceling on a portable device or computer, they can't be Beat.
What's great about it: Cancel the background noise without canceling the sound along with it.
What's not so great: Sound leakage when over 50% volume is used
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do you a need a hardware upgrade to replace the hdmi board on your sony 4k tv in order to use this 4k ultra media player and if you do who does it

It all depends on when your TV was manufactured, some work out of the box and some need the upgrade. If you do need an upgrade Sony sends the tech to your house. When I had mine done they even gave me a $100 Sony gift card, the only downside is you can't use the gift card on 4K movies, it had to be used at the sony store.

The upgrade requires the back of the TV to be removed, so if you've hung your TV they will need to pull it off the wall, what I did is had the TV stand for them so they unmounted my TV, used the stand and then re-mounted it after they diid the upgrade. They will also need to load firmware and run though a setup, it took around 2 hours from the time they showed up to the time I was watching the media player.

the videos that were supposed to be preloaded aren't available

spider man and 9 other feature films were supposed to already be loaded on my media player but aren't available. I only have some short clips.
Once you hook up to the 4K video service you should be able to download them for free, they show up as free when I'm browsing the store from mine.

The demo video clips on uhd tv displayed in store.

Are those video clips available ? If not, why don't you let those available to download for 4k tv owners.
No the store clips are not available although you get different clips with the 4K Media player and they added to them twice since I purchased mine lat summer. But I also have to say I don't use the 4k Media player much, on the 65" TV you really can't tell much difference between it and a good quality blu-ray player.
