Not Wideband Compatible
on September 22, 2011

Do not bother getting this router, will NOT go over 35 Mbps. Sad, I kinda liked this router, but also couldn't get my iphones to read the N band.. The Docsis 3.0 is what makes wideband possible, what made Netgear not think ahead? docsis has been in the works for a few years... Also, slow boot up from power failures, sluggish router screen. Just go with Time warners Wideband Modem/router/wifi... its in this store too, but more expensive. Free through the isp... I get 50 MBPS from the ISP modem.. even with a 8 way spliter.. My powerline adapter does limit the Mbps to 35 mbps I will upgrade asap..
What's great about it: It turns on..
What's not so great: Last decades tech, NO DOCSIS 3.0 means no wideband

Great Modem..
on August 20, 2011

Very good modem, does get warm, but all my other stuff gets hot too, so I don't care.. It's not overheating, just slight warmth to the touch.
I have a Netgear N600 Dual Band from BB. I have no dropped connection issues. All my major stuff is wired to the Netgear. I also have a rocketfish Powerline adapter, solid signal transmission all the time. I got this modem for FREE from my ISP, I couldn't imagine paying upfront for another modem after buying a worthless Clear4g home and laptop modem. I get a solid 22 Mbps, I only pay for 20 Mbps... I like this modem a lot. Too easy to setup, just screw in the cable before powering up.. It found internet signal in 10 seconds.. I didn't want the wifi, so TWC turned that ability off. I don't mind..
I have a very busy network, I gotta have something like this modem to meet my demands. Clear4g didn't meet my requirements. Get this thing, you won't regret it. Most ISP's give this unit away.. Obviously if you get rid of the service you return it, but I don't wanna own them anymore. I'm more interested in keeping my own Router, that thing cost a lot.
What's great about it: Time Warner gives these away in my Area, no extra charge.
What's not so great: I don't know, only had it for a week so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Say goodbye to AA Batteries...

This keyboard is very nice, I was able to get it running in 3 seconds flat. I immediately unplugged my old USB keyboard.. I also got a Logitech M310 Mouse (wireless) I have yet to have any real lag. Just remember you can only have the keyboard on the usb dongle not both for some reason, I would of liked to save space but oh well.. Also, Microphone blu-tooth doesn't allow this to perform when there is a 3rd adapter installed. The keyboard gets confused by the wireless mic's. So other than that, I love this keyboard, I got it as a Gift so I hope it's a gift that keeps on giving.Too bad the mouse doesn't have a solar cell.. My only complaint might be smears on the solar cells.. I have to wipe the cells down all the time... This keyboard does get full charge all the time from a regular florescent light fixture. No need to bake it outside like the other reviewer, who in their right mind would subject electronics to full on sun for hours? Anyways, get this keyboard... I don't regret it. No more cord tugging!
What's great about it: Instantly Works out of the box.. Feather light, eco friendly.
What's not so great: Just be sure to have a backup battery if needed..

LOVE this Brand of Blank DVD's

The Jewel Cases sealed the deal, yes it's kinda slow, but Dual Layers usually do take a while. I just like being able to archive Large Videos and other media without any issues. I have no need for Blu-ray yet, I can't afford that stuff yet anyways. I have a ps3 but that was for gaming more than anything. But anyways, back on topic... I am glad I chose this brand, I won't buy any other again, Sony DVD's were not nearly as reliable. I had constant Coasters instead of backed up home Videos.
When I go Blu then I'll get Verbatim's Blu-ray's but until then I'm a happy camper :-) All of my files were burned using Windows 7's explorer, no expensive 3rd party stuff here in my house.
What's great about it: Durable, plenty of space to write down important scenes in a family video chapter list...
What's not so great: I have to buy more than one box of these to have enough dvd's.. I don't like spindles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Build or modify your own PC:Yes
Level of Expertise:Average
Primary reason for building/modifying PC:Gaming
This processor was easy to setup, I have a System from a Egg website =) It is a great processor, snapped into place with no issue. I took apart an already built system ( I Buy Power) I love to challenge myself, but a barebones costs way too much. This system was 709.00 GamingGod81 is my reviewer name.. This processor takes all sorts of punishment, I ran Spore, The Sims Medieval, and The Sims 3 Outdoor Living, Not a hint of lag, the gadget on my desktop said my ram (DDR3 1666mhz) was maxed out at 8GB but the processor just kept on chugging along. I put on my own thermal paste, just for good measure, even though the pc is only months old, I just got it the last week of March. I'm saving up for a Liquid cooler. Then I'll OC this baby to 3.8 or even if I dare 4.0 Ghz... But not for long I'm just the kind of guy that loves to test out settings.
My friend who has an i5 let me test both systems side by side, my AMD kicked it out of the water.
What's great about it: It's AMD! Affordable, Extremely fast. Beats an i5 in a head to head test.
What's not so great: no L3 Cache, but not noticable..

Not a Bad VOIP!!

Certainly is cheaper than Magic Jack which requires a PC to be on at all times.. $4/month in my area for the basic service, and thats just the Taxes.. The premium service is $10/month.. Certainly cheaper than Vonage.. The sound quality is awesome on my internet connection, I have a 30Mps DL 3Mps UL.... I have a Time Warner Turbo boost Roadrunner ISP. I wouldn't suggest a slower connection. The sound quality is only as good as the modem/router can spare free data.. I have a Netgear N600 which is an awesome device too.. I also have the ooma handset.. Its black and white on the screen but easy to use.. $30/yr or so is not a bad Phone Bill.. Get this device, it does have a $$ back promise.
What's great about it: Simple to setup, dirt cheap bill. doesn't need a pc on like Magic Jack
What's not so great: Why all the other VOIP's can't be this cheap??

SynopsisHome used to be where the heart was. America used to be free. Now, home is nothing but a bleak landscape of walled towns and abandoned suburbs, where high school stadiums have become detention centers and shopping malls shelter armored attack vehicles. Fear and despair have crept into the United States that you knew and loved. Worldwide conflict, dwindling resources and economic crisis have taken their toll, and now, in 2027, the savage, nuclear-armed Greater Korean Republic clenches the US in a brutal occupation. But the enemy forgot one little thing about the USA: they may have seized our land and weakened our state, but no one can weaken the spirit of the American people. Not since George Washington led the patriots in the Revolutionary War has America fought a battle so vital to the freedom of the nation and so close to the hearts of the people. Not since then have we had to band together to protect our Homefront. Take the front lines alongside the colorful characters of the Resistance as you employ daring guerrilla tactics, commandeer military vehicles and unleash epic warfare across sprawling battlefields with first-person sharpshooting action. The heart-pounding, hair-raising exhilaration of the struggle springs to life when you take the fight online and experience multiplayer infantry, helicopter and drone battles the likes of which you've never seen. Mask your fear, take your weapon in hand and bear the title "American" with pride: this is the call to save your Homefront.

Not a Bad FPS from an Unlikely Company
on March 16, 2011

I never would have guessed this company Would have released an fps this good, yes it's not flawless, but what FPS game is anymore? They do make this online game loads of fun, I have yet to have a server drop. However, when I quit a server that had a ton of Joe NO SKILLS. My ps3 froze. I had to turn off my ps3. These problems are also happening on the other console, so they can't say they have the better version this time. At any rate the game is fun, I got some great Sniper kills on the map with the white castle. I also played around with the Single player a bit.. Nothing special there, I don't like that the cut scenes don't go 3rd person.. I wanna see my character when its a cut scene!! The storyline starts out how I expect North Korea's Kim Jun Un to act as soon as he takes over for Kim Jun IL.. The fact they used Hillary Cliton just gave the opening video more depth in reality.. Even though I know the game wasn't real.. But who's to say that N.Korea wouldn't have a stockpile of Nukes??? The rest of the story is not as interesting as I would have hoped, Mind you I'm not done with the whole game just yet.. I'm wondering if there will be a series from this FPS?? Maybe the sequels will be slightly better.. One thing I don't like at all is the fact they require an Unlock key to play online past level 5. Did electronic arts start a bad habit for companies or what?? I dislike that voucher code stuff... what are they worried about???
What's great about it: Good online, awesome opening movie., good online weapons, classes. Dedicated Servers..
What's not so great: Flat storyline, anti-aliasing issues, tons of jaggies. Not enough Dedicated Servers.

This movie is AWESOME now **SPOILER ALERT**

The alternate Opening should have been the original, I like the fact they actually filmed an Earth scene that resembled a Mad Max& Fifth Element type of a feel to it.. It blew me away how they also seamlessly integrated all the other new scenes like how Sigourney Weaver's character Dr. Augustine finally Explains what happened at the school to shut it down.. I seriously do not remember the original theater version having her ever say Neytiri had a Sister.. that "New" scene should have stayed in the original release, now the whole abandoned school part makes perfect sense.. The other scene I wish they kept in and I'm glad they show in the Extended version, is when Tsu'Tay Neytiri's Original suitor is finally shown were he falls off the plane when he get's shot and how Jake has to do do an honor killing.. THAT right there would have definitely helped carry the plot in the theater version.. I can't understand why they totally finished those scene's but never put all of them on the big screen... One more thing, The whole scene where Neytiri and Jake do the Booty Call, that was cool how they show the pony tail actually can connect with the other partners... That way they can really feel each other on a deeper level.. I wish that scene got a little bit more work down on it, but I guess its good enough... The other little detail they shouldn't have left out in the original cut, what Tsutay did to the bulldozers after Jake and Neytiri left, as you will notice his face cringed, then it cut out what else he was gonna do, but with the destruction of the dozers and the Marine unit, NOW I can fully understand why Quaritch blew up Home tree.. Not because Jake was booty calling, but The unit of soldiers getting killed.. THAT makes perfect sense now.. Finally, I am glad they are making an Avatar 2.... It will be Pandora Ocean based, kinda like Abyss I would guess.. I don't know what else they could do... We will see in a few years..AVATAR2 won't be out 'till after Titanic 3D is out, can't see James working on both at the same time, just my opinion.. But Avatar is actually a better movie than ever before with all the new scenes.. This truly IS the Avatar we were meant to have in the Beginning.. Totally worth it.. GET IT.. I'm not disappointed with this Directors cut.. The best one I've owned Since LOTR Dvd DC...
What's great about it: EVERY question is answered, all new scenes tie the movie together.
What's not so great: The movie isn't 4 hours long... I like epic movies,i.e., LOTR

Great Story & Great Online!!! **Spoiler**
on November 9, 2010

I have spent 5 hours on this game and have played through plenty of the SP & MP Game modes, and the Zombie mode is JUST as good if not better than COD World @ War.. I'm thrilled they included it instead of doing a DLC... But I do have to say one thing why was there a Patch on launch day?? I didn't wanna patch it, I wanted to just JUMP IN.. I do want to go on about the MP maps.. They are very well designed, I do LAUGH at the times an enemy spawns close to me, they never see or hear me, (NINJA Perk) so I racked up 10 kills in 2 minutes, that was on the Havana map.. I think its the best map of the bunch, I haven't played all of them, but some maps are just too open.. I need to buy a Marathon perk, thats another thing, ALL perks, guns, and what have you are Purchased with in game credits, earned with each battle.. Which is nice, I don't have to worry about having to rank up, I just need to rack up the credits.. each perk runs from 2000c to 5000c... So spend wisely... You only earn roughly 500c per match, there is a Gambling type game mode too, bet a certain amount of credits, finish third place or higher, win double what you bet.. Sounds like a good system.. This game is much more enjoyable than Mw2.. I actually made friends today in game.. Mw2, I never did... The whole game certainly does have the polished feel of a huge Game of the Year.. The storyline is epic, I couldn't believe how hard it was to even play through.. I LOVE this game, I usually hate COD games, but Treyarch struck gold with this one, many things have been added in, a stationary camera, to scope a place out, and the Remote controlled mobile c4 bomb.. It is awesome.. I have yet to get ticked at this game... I would without a doubt recommend you buy this for yourself and all your buddies.. Its such an awesome game online when you have 2 or more buddies either in your room with you or on PSN.. This game is hours of fun, I only logged off because my hands hurt.. Get this game PLEASE. You won't regret it...
What's great about it: New ways to upgrade Loadouts, SinglePlayer,Multiplayer, ZOMBIES!!
What's not so great: It could sort the in game friends list to show online people all in one spot...

Best James Cameron Movie Ever!!!
on March 22, 2010
Posted by: austinite04
from TEXAS
I am a huge fan of this movie, I saw it in the theater 4 times.. Not all at once.. I saw it one time at the IMAX 3-D theater and Three times at the Alamo Drafthouse.. I like the drafthouse much better, and loved the never ending Guinness Draft Pints.. I will enjoy the blu-ray much better because it has an extended scene between the two main characters (Neytiri and Jake Sully) It was too hot and steamy for theaters.. it would have made the theater MPAA rating R rated maybe NC17.. I will not divulge what happens but you get the idea. So in exchange for a shorter almost g-rated film James cut out the scene that was so carefully rendered and was as much as any other scene a good one but he wanted 13 year olds to be able to watch this film.. So parents Please don't let kiddies watch the Blu-ray, it isn't all out but its close. I hope the Blu-ray comes with an option to see the PG-13 version and or the NC17 one.. All in all I must recommend everyone buy this blu-ray.. It is an epic movie, more interesting than Hurt Locker. I did watch both, and Liked Avatar better.. This is an opinion, I just didn't like the fact Ms. Bigelow didn't thank George Bush for going to war with Iraq, without this war SHE WOULD HAVE NO MOVIE!!! So that's the main reason I didn't like Hurt Locker... Avatar may have a few script flaws like Sigourney's first set of lines, where's my #! cigarette?? That was a little stupid, but over all, I did think this wan't a Pocahontas re-mix of a movie... I felt it was very original..
What's great about it: 3-d effects not too gimmicky, blu-ray only extended scene (adds 10-15 minutes)
What's not so great: The fact another movie got Movie of the Year (H.L.).... The movie ends only after 2 1/2 hours..

THE SIMS 3 on ps3...
July 16, 2010
It is about time, now if they offer the base game AND world adventures, it will seal the deal for me.. but either way I will LOVE to play TS3 on a huge screen without the distortion the pc's DVI to HDMI does.. I love the fact this game is finally releasing, while October is a ways off, I don't mind... I want it to be a bug free game... If we can have full online access to the TS3 store and a virtual EA Download manager and or a game launcher menu to sort downloads, this would absolutely seal the deal..

When I got the first game, the cashier @ Best Buy reassured me that it was a really awesome game. Everyone will want to play it! I was skeptic, of course... But obviously I really enjoyed it. My friends and I constantly laugh the whole way through the game! Especially when we back hand each other, and see us flying across the screen, down to our little sack boy deaths.... Priceless! The game looks basic, but you can do soo much in it!!! Looking forward to the next installment!

Is there anyone with the BETA??
October 25, 2010
I want real feedback from a BETA user... I want a good in depth preview from someone that really has LBP2 beta, and if you want post your PSN.. I have seen too many LBP2 videos, but NOTHING will compare to the full game... I hope to GOD they make this sequel FULL 1080p.. I just got a new HDTV, I wanna use it until the screen dies from playing LBP2 too much.. I can't say how excited I am about this game.. I hope the delay is 100% justified, I have heard that the online is still buggy, I need them to fix that asap.. I am playing LBP almost everyday...

Better than the new Linksys E4200
By randym431 from dms, ia
I replaced my old slow linksys with the new linksys E4200, wanting better range in a large house. Well.. the linksys was improvement over my old router, BUT...I was wanting to really see if the new linksys or this netgear 3700 was better for range. Well I tried both, and the netgear was by far the longer range wireless. By far...! So I kept the netgear and returned the linksys E4200. Its all about range baby...
Both streamed HD VUDU and HD netflix great. But the range with the netgear makes the netgear 3700 the winner.
However, the new linksys E4200 was far easier to setup. Went like a charm. The netgear 3700 failed setup process using the CD software.
I then tried the router webpage, as they suggest as a second resort, and that worked. So the linksys setup was much easier, and it could be setup without a hard wired net cable. Where this netgear requires it to be first hard wired to the PC for initial setup. Linksys wins out when it comes to ease of setup. But in operation, the netgear is a better router.
Actually, one would be happy with either router, if range is not an issue.
Both stream HD very well. But in a big house, you will need the netgear 3700. The linksys E4200 just won't hack it when range is concerned.
