No good if you have a case.....

So, my husband always likes to keep plugged in at home so we put this on his iPhone 7 Plus to see how he liked it. The build quality of the cord is AWESOME , so is the length of the cord and the leather buckle is a nice addition.
The bad news is that this cord is not built around if you have a phone case. We had to push hard just to get the cord to fit in with the case. The plug needs to be smaller in profile to fit with cases.
Therefore we cannot suggest this due to the unfriendly nature of the plug profile if your case won't allow the plug.

Great for lots of Steam games

Now, I understand that not everyone has the same uses for hard drives. To be able to get the speed that the USB C cable provides is awesome! I have over 1tb of games loaded on there and there is room for more Steam purchases! Load speed and power draw is very minimal while providing high performance. Of course, your experience may vary depending on how you connect it. It can be compatible with a USB 3.0 port with the included adapter. Not sure if it's backward compatible with USB 2.0 but I'm sure it is. Did not expect to see 4tb in such a small package but after all this is 2018 and WD has an awesome product.

Good with frustration...... And something weird...
on October 22, 2018
Posted by: hockeycanuckjc
from East Bay, CA
So, My husband and I are TV enthusiasts so we opted for this television. He watches more than I do but we watch together every moment we got. When Tech Insider gave us the opportunity to review this in exchange for our review, we were excited!
We made the arrangements to get a stand which we got assembled today. Okay! And then the TV assembly part. Ok for taking it out of the box. Screwing on the feet, check! easy peasy, except for getting cramps in my hand. Well I lived through it. My husband and I transport the TV onto the stand. Check! Get everything hooked up... Check... Turned on the TV. Setup is what we thought was good.
Except one thing... Who is Scott Hisense at Gmail? It seems our unit was already signed into by a HiSense Employee! Super Weird! We already have our smart devices for HDMI so we're set... So we ignored it and went to the TV setup portion. We don't have an Antenna but had the HDMI setup. So that went OK.
Guess what happens when you have a Blu Ray Player or something you can power on? The TV can turn it on and off for you! Ugh! I wanted to watch TV again not watch a Blu Ray which leads me to our next frustration! There is no real way on the remote to switch to HDMI 1, HDMI 2 , HDMI 3 and so forth. You have to tell Google to switch to it! And.... You have to have an active internet connection to do so.
Also to prevent nonsense electronic turn ons, you have to go into the settings and turn of CEC. Otherwise you will be banging your had on the wall.
We tried to hook it up via Ethernet, it was fine at first and then we started getting messages our Ethernet was not connected. Does my TV have a defect too? Checking the negative reviews here it seems we had some kind of experience here. Not sure what to think.
But our audio is OK. No lipsync issues. Picture and sound are all beautiful.
Remember... Google Voice is your control to go to HDMI 1 , 2 and so forth. Read the manuals to see if there was a way around it and there was no hope for us.
It's functioning fine on WIFI, and despite the weird sign in issue and so forth... It is an OK TV.
It may aggravate others though and it almost drove us to the point where we did not want to use it anymore.
Sorry HiSense but you need to improve on this one.

Good for most things....

So, I want to put it out there. This is our first Go Pro Camera. We have seen friends use them and seen some advertising but never had one ourselves. So we decided to try this and see how well things would work for different scenarios.
Looking at the packaging, things suggest it looks simple to setup, right? Well kind of. I see quite a few accessories inside and I found myself temporarily perplexed by how to get it off the demo stand included that held the camera in place in the box.
Put the battery in, and notice it has just enough charge to complete setup. Suggested to charge it all the way which we did and then we tried it on a Sunday for our nieces dance performance. Taking pictures, it seems very nice Quality is crystal clear
Taking pictures in low lighting situations, well it seems to be a hit and miss but then again there is no backlight from what I read or understood and it's not for this purpose perhaps!
Tried to take video while going on the freeway using a dash mount and it was successful. The video recorded clearly.
Camera Navigation... Well there were instructions on all supplied links and the app to see how to navigate the screens on the Camera but I cant help but those with big fingers such as me have a hard time navigating it.
It was successful linking to my husbands iPhone through the app and we both got good use out of the camera downloading the pictures to the phone and them casting them to the desktop.
Battery life is a concern. I had a full charge on the battery and my expectation is that the battery has 100% when turned off and it does not decline in battery life until you have it turn on, right? But we had a full charge and when we turned it on the next day it was at 86%.
Is there something we missed? I have not taken time to address the battery issues and so forth but I expect that we may need to purchase additional fresh batteries for a better all day experience if that's what's needed to use the product to it's full potential.
Overall, this product is nice, but not everyone may enjoy it's use though as it seems to have a target audience it's oriented towards. Your mileage and usage may vary.

Extra simplicity, high quality

What can I say, I am delighted by how simple this is to use and plug in. I make Skype calls to friends all the time because I have a lousy cell reception indoors and it's more fun to see friends on Camera. I mean you just plug in the unit and it works. I like how the headphones are one cord and the cord build seems real strong. Audio quality is amazing too. I brought it places a couple of times to watch movies on my laptop and it worked for this purpose too. Not sure if my laptop has a Mic port but the USB adapter delivers on quality.

Great printer with minor steps backward
on August 10, 2018
Posted by: hockeycanuckjc
from Citrus Heights,CA
The whole premise of this new system is the ink. Inside the box you get cartridges that estimate up to two years worth of usage. Instead of the messy ink cartridges you get tanks full of ink that go into a small bay and easily snap into place.
Opening the printer out of the box was fairly easy. It seemed a little heavy but I overcome it easy. Looks solid, color integrates with the colors in the living room.
Setup was a breeze too although there is something that might throw off users. If you don't read the manual you may think to yourself, where is the USB port? Where is the phone jack for the fax? It's inside the printer itself and you have to loop the cord to the outside.
You very well may just be pulling your hair out over that one. Don't like the design, but then again I don't like the cords so we'll say it's for those that really need it.
The wireless setup was very easy though and I connected it to my Wifi Network. Within minutes I easily added the printer to all of the computers in our house and it does not require extra configuration.
If you are looking to scan wireless from the network without a cord, you may want to consider getting Brothers printer app from the Windows 10 store. It really does help with the scanning.
Once in awhile the printer won't be detected over the network even though it's supposedly connected. I suspect this is a sleep mode issue rather than waking the printer up from its slumber mode problem?
Not really an issue it's just there.
This is a very solid unit that deserves as look not only to fit into your everyday life but also other activities down the road.

Interesting flashback / retro concept.

A headphone for my generation. The last time I seen something like this was in the 80s. Not only is the look cool but it actually looks like something that is sturdy and is not cheaply made like some budget headphones on the market.
I appreciate the simplicity of the one button approach meaning that it's easy to pair with my phone and I can control the volume with my phone itself. It also works very nice with my desktops and laptops that interface with bluetooth. The volume is loud but not too obnoxious. For some other content that is lower in volume, I wish the headset itself had a adjustment for volume on its own so it can go even louder.
Not a deal breaker though. Audio quality seems to be clear and has no issues.
The one thing that I do have feedback on is the charging port. I don't like where it is and I am concerned it may lead to worn pads if the USB cable pinches the charging port. I suppose it was done that way for a reason but think it's a little strange. I do appreciate the length of the USB cable as it's ample enough to plug it in somewhere and have it sitting down comfortably without worrying about a hanging device from a charging port and so forth.
As long as you realize the budget for these headphones and you are not looking for big sound present in similar products that make a boom boom sound, you will find these right at home for your daily usage.

Very Small!

I have a 500gb HDD that has a larger profile and I'm impressed by how portable this is.
My Lenovo Ideapad only has 32gb SSD so I am using this or external storage for the Portable Apps plaform.
Love how this has USB type C connector which my laptop has so I can free up a USB port to connect my phone and download pictures.
So small that it fits in your pocket and it's easy to use.
And yes it's backward compatible with 2.0 USB if you need it for that.

Not too bad, great quality
on June 24, 2018

I am surprised. This monitor is actually very sharp picture wise and does not have any noticeable blur in games. Like the fact that you can plug in other things besides a computer into there. An XBOX 360, a Fire Stick if you wish or other HDMI Components. They all look great.
And , it's one of the larger format monitors that still remembers that users of computers with VGA ports need some love too and it includes one of those if you need it.
Speakers are built in and sound is kind of tiny at best depending on what you're outputting into device, best to use external sound. That's the only flaw I found on this.
Setup was a breeze. No tools needed to setup to be honest, the base has easy screws and the monitor snaps into place on the other portion of the stand so no problem.
I think gamers would appreciate the setup and quality of the build on this monitor and would make a good choice for their setup if they are looking for something budget conscious without sacrificing quality.

When I got this unit I was excited to try out an all in one unit. So I took this out of the box. It looked great unpacking and the setup was a breeze. Was very charmed that you did not have to have a lot of cords associated.
Examining the unit, it has 3 USB Ports, an Ethernet port, one USB type C port , SD Card and Headphone inputs on the bottom of the monitor. Also has an HDMI port which does IN AND OUT! You can connect an XBOX or PS system or anything that has HDMI out and use it for gaming at 1080p!
The bad news is that this is where the design flaw is. What manufacturer designs an HDMI in for the monitor and give no way to control the volume? So unless your XBOX or PS game has volume controls, you might as well skip this.
You can only use the volume controls from within the keyboard. Speaking of which, the keyboard was the only thing I liked, I did not care for the mouse. It just felt odd in my hands. Ended up using my Logitech mouse and felt right at home.
At least you can adapt to any peripheral you can use through USB or bluetooth. Which leads me to my next gripe. The inputs are all in the back. It is kind of annoying since I have to share a USB cord for a printer between 2 computers. Luckily I don't have to do this often but it seems like a pain.
The same for the power button, it's in the back of the computer.
OS setup wise? Be prepared for 5 to 6 full hours to update to Windows April 2018 build and install other browsers. If you have Office 365 subscriptions, be sure to remove the old version of office pre installed by Lenovo at the factory prior to installing 365.
Gaming performance... Eh... It's not for that but I was able to run a lot of games nicely so your mileage may vary depending on what game you run but again, this is not designed for that.
How do I feel about the whole system? It's a step up from what I am traditionally used to, has a nice aesthetic look but has some port accessibility design flaws that should be addressed in a future model.

Looks beautiful, but performance . . .
By minde
. . . is slow. Right out of the box I was very disappointed. The specs seem fine: i5 processor and 8 gigs of RAM. But this laptop just ran slow. Sluggish response in just about every way. Just not acceptable for someone on the go. A client who is a busy business owner bought this for himself and after I set it up I suggested he return it.

Slow performance
July 2, 2016
Once you create the recovery drive and make a backup of the wireless drivers, you can take a Windows 10 iso and do a clean format and let Windows 10 Update take care of the rest of the install. This is going to take some time, but should help with the sluggish nature of the laptop. I had noticed this too when I opened it up out of the box, that and the Firefox issue with the black dots appearing, it seems if you disable hardware acceleration the problem goes away.

No Service
September 11, 2016
My phone all of a sudden said no service to me when I was in Disneyland last month, and I did not have any cell service. Was without a phone for 2 days. I had an old Pixi Pulsar Android phone that I upgraded from, so I took the SIM card out of the Galaxy Prime and put it into the Pixi Pulsar. I turned off the Pixi Pulsar and put it back into the Galaxy Prime and my service came back. Was a weird service glitch but I ended up not needing the SIM Card they sent me.

It won't render video from a USB?

Does that mean I can't stream through the USB with a Kindle Fire Stick streaming device? The only reason I'm looking at this is to pair it up with my Kindle Fire Stick. Can I use that, or do I need to buy a roku that connects through HDMI instead?

Second question: what good is the USB if you can't use it for video content?
The USB port is only for displaying pictures. You can't playback video from that port. In regards to the Roku and Fire sticks, those connect via the HDMI port exclusively.

Technically, yes, this laptop can run it. However if it's possible a Clean install of this OS would be recommended if you are able to acquire it by all means. I would wait and see what the full flavor of Windows 10 editions are offered to the market before upgrading.

HOW DO U CLEAN YOUR MOUSE

Well for starters , don't eat at the table your computer is at :) If you must clean it get a damp towel that is barely damp and gently wipe the mouse off but make sure the tower is fully rung out before doing so as moisture inside the mouse could ruin the scroll wheel.
