Just step on this advanced clinically tested smart scale for instant feedback and highly accurate weight & weight trends, BMI, advanced full body composition (body fat and water percentage, plus muscle and bone mass), visceral fat index and cardiovascular insights to help you stay on top of your health. Every weigh-in appears in the Withings app automatically, via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sync. And unlike many smart scales, with Wi-Fi sync, you don’t have to have your phone with you when you weigh-in to synchronize your data.

A Scale That I Never Knew I Needed!
on May 27, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I admittedly never considered a scale as anything more than a way to track your weight loss or gain so the idea of the Withings Body Smart Advanced Body Composition Scale intrigued me. With a family history of various health concerns I have started to pay attention to as much of my health details as possible using various smart devices and apps to help me better understand things.
Setting this scale up was fairly simple. Downloading the Withings app and following the guided prompts made it quick although an update was required and slowed things down a little. Once past all of that I was able to setup my profile and connect the data recorded by the scale to my iPhone Health App as well as other apps that I use so that an even wider collection of my health data could be compiled. Being able to share a report that includes your data like weight details like BMI and Fat Mass, Resting Heart Rate, Activity details, etc is also extremely helpful.
Seeing info that delves deeper than just my weight in pounds was eye opening. The Body Composition Breakdown was especially refreshing giving details or Visceral Fat Index, Lean Mass, Water Mass, etc as well as the corresponding result made it clear what areas needed to be worked on and where I was doing well. There is also an area where you can track your food intake. Although the app shares data with other apps that I choose as well as the iPhone Health App there are a few places you can view all or almost all of the data instead of relying on each individual app, but the insights and informative info provided in the Withings app definitely makes it beneficial to use the Withings App frequently. There are some tracking options that require other Withings products if interested but I found that it's not necessary if you have other devices that already track that data. It is also a nice touch to see info like local air quality appear on the scale screen after weighing yourself for the day. It's not a need but it's a nice feature to see along with the other info that cycles through (such as the BMI info and others that will also be seen in the app if you are like me and sometimes don't fully pay attention to the details cycling on the scale).
Overall this is a product I never realized that I needed but completely appreciate now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Entry Level Option
on May 24, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
As a content creator it is essential to have a way to take quality pictures and when necessary video but for a lot of us doing so with less cumbersome equipment (and in a lot of causes using the great cameras available on todays smartphones) make it easier to get the content you need on the go. But sometimes you want to use a true dedicated camera to get the best content. I admit that I rarely pull out my old Canon DSLR anymore because it just felt like more of a hassle. A bit bulky and a little more work to get the content from the camera/SD Card especially when related to uploading social media content were the main reasons. So I was definitely interested in seeing how the Canon EOS R50 would fit into my needs.
This camera is lightweight and has a smaller footprint making it feel less like a hassle to pull out and work with compared to my old DSLR or other traditional full-sized options. It's definitely a great entry option for beginners, novice camera users, and content creators that rely on photos and videos for their work. For some, the smaller, more compact size will be a refreshing experience but for those with larger hands it may feel awkward and take some getting used to. I don't think it would be a huge hinderance to get used to but that's completely subjective. Despite being smaller and lighter this camera does not feel like quality was sacrificed in the build.
Setup was fairly simple but requires downloading Canon Apps that guided you through the process with ease. Specifically the Canon Connect App is pretty easy to navigate and makes transferring content from the camera to your smart device wirelessly a breeze. You are able to view the images on your device for a larger more complete view in lieu of viewing on the camera which is nice. You can also use your smart device as a monitor of sorts...particularly when trying to film video to make sure your shot is setup as you need as well as starting recording instead of needing to directly touch the camera which is extremely helpful when you are the subject on camera.
Battery life is excellent, particularly when taking photos. I was able to go days taking photos, reviewing them, etc without needing to worry about the battery needing to be charged before I could keep going. This is a bit less true when shooting video which isn't really shocking of course. If you are someone filming on the go you may need to get a second battery to ensure you have a little more cushion if you know you wouldn't be able to easily recharge but that is something that is likely going to be true on any camera. I also want to mention that audio using the camera's microphone is more than adequate for my needs and likely for most people but if you need to use an external microphone that is still an option.
The touch screen works flawlessly and so far has not shown any lag or issues for me. I also enjoy the various mode options available to help make your photo or video experience easier. This is something that users who just want to be able to get the content they want in the easiest way or those that aren't quite comfortable with manually selecting each option...although manual mode and selecting everything down to your shutter speed and other options is there for those who prefer complete and customized control of everything. As mentioned, wireless transfer is made easy on this camera making it easier to get your content posted to the platform of choice faster without needing to use a computer or cables if you don't want to. Video transferred this way will be compressed which is something to keep in mind. It will still be a good quality but if you were expecting the full 4K quality then you will need to transfer in a connected manner.
The included lens is great for beginners but lacks optical stabilization so you may want to purchase a different lens if this becomes a huge issue for you needs. If you have other Canon lenses it's possible you can use them with this camera with the appropriate adapter but keep in mind this is not true for all lenses. That is a whole different topic but something worth researching based on your needs and goals with this camera.
Overall, I think this is a great option for a beginner or someone that doesn't require something much more complex to meet their needs. It's a more than adequate option for most content creators and well worth considering when trying to decide on a true camera to help up your creative moves.

Excellent Option
on May 12, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
It's been awhile since I have used an HP product (although I do own an HP Gaming Desktop that gets used by others in my household much more frequently than by me anymore). Aesthetic wise this is a nice looking laptop that is truly portable with a quality feel and sleek profile in my opinion.
This is not a top of the line option but it still will fit most users needs and look great doing so. That's definitely not to imply that it is a low end or entry level option lacking quality or anything but it is clearly intended to draw in the user that doesn't want to spend the Dragonfly Elite dollars to have a better than entry level experience. The display is more than adequate looks wise. Colors appear as they should, working with photos and media is pretty good, and it can handle your typical daily needs for the majority of users. There are definitely better resolution options out there but for most users that will not honestly matter and may not be something they notice in their actual use. The 16GB RAM is adequate and the 512GB of storage will meet most users needs. The processor isn't the fastest out there but again, for most users this will not be an issue or even something they will notice. The camera is decent so you won't feel like you are lacking in any quality when doing things like Zoom meetings or anything. The keyboard is decent...not necessarily the best I have ever used on a laptop but it doesn't feel cheap or make you want to run out and buy a wireless keyboard to compensate. The charging block is surprisingly powerful at 96w and the battery life is great with me seeing about 12 hours of runtime before needing to charge again (which again, with the 96w charging block you get decently fast charging times). The speakers are pretty good for laptop speakers with better than expected sound quality.
Something that stands out to me (and slightly annoys me because it one will require yet another subscription in our lives if you want it....which has become almost a requirement to get the full benefits of some tech gadgets now) are the 4 dedicated keys but primarily the tech support key. It's not a must to have and many will find that they don't need the service and its fee so thankfully you don't feel forced to use it. If you are like me you can reassign one of the keys to do something that will fit your needs BUT otherwise you will be left with 1 useless key if you opt not to get the tech support subscription in the future. Not a deal breaker but worth noting for those that will be annoyed that they can't reassign that particular key to something they use.
Overall this feels like a more than adequate option for most laptop users but if you are someone that heavily edits videos and photos on a professional level this might not be the one for you.

Great Option But...It's Going to Cost You Monthly
on May 7, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I'll be honest...I really didn't expect to be impressed by the Oura Ring Gen3 Horizon. I thought my bases were well covered with my smart watch so I went into using this thinking that I would lose interest quickly. I was absolutely wrong!
The first step in getting this ring was receiving the sizing kit and properly determining the size you need. I absolutely suggest wearing the test ring size for several hours at minimum performing your normal tasks to make sure it is the best size for you. As the brand mentions, your fingers naturally swell and subside throughout the day so you want to make sure that you choose a size that will accommodate that while still fitting properly for the best experience. After choosing your size you just complete the order and your ring is shipped fairly quickly.
Initially I was concerned that the somewhat thick feel of the ring on my hand would be an uncomfortable experience...I opted to size for my middle finger versus the index finger which is the suggested finger to use (although the brand also states that the middle and ring fingers are good options too). I was able to adjust to the thick feeling fairly quickly so anyone with small hands or women that may not be used to chunkier bands should be fine. Setup was pretty easy following the prompts from the Oura app after fully charging the ring with the included charger (which is based on the ring size you choose so if someone else in your home also has a ring they may not be able to use your charger depending on their size). You do fill out a profile and the data provided to you will reflect your chosen goal(s) and life situation. The range of data that the ring is capable of tracking is impressive BUT keep in mind that after the first month if you want to continue receiving access to the full suite of features you will have to pay $5.99/month for the Oura Membership. You can opt not to get the membership and still receive the 3 daily Oura scores (Readiness, Activity, and Sleep) but it would be very basic compared to the wealth of data you receive otherwise. It is a little annoying that the number of subscriptions users must pay for to get full access to the tech gear the purchase requires but it is the way things are and is something to be aware of.
As far a performance goes...the data I received was helpful (particularly the data on my sleep analysis which is extremely helpful for me being someone with chronic sleep issues). I find that using the ring for my sleep data is far better for me than wearing a watch all night. Because this is a ring all alerts and reminders will pop up on your phone (and in my case on my Apple Watch). Battery life is pretty good only needing to recharge the ring about once a week. Because there is no actual indicator on the ring you will need to glance at the battery level in the app or you will get an alert on your phone letting you know it's time to charge it. Charging is pretty fast...in about an hour and a half or less it will be fully charged. I also received one firmware update which took a few minutes to install but didn't require taking the ring off to get it done.
Ultimately, I think this is a great option to get some very helpful data based on your needs. It seems to shine with the sleep data, heart rate info, readiness analysis, and cycle tracking with body temperature tracking. Unfortunately, unless you are willing to invest in the monthly subscription service you won't get much of that data which would deeply diminish the benefits of the ring. This is definitely something to keep in mind as it may not be worth it for some that just don't want to be forced into yet another subscription to get the real benefits of your smart devices. If you already have a smart device that gives you basic info and you know you don't want to pay for a monthly subscription you might be better off not getting this.

Great Sound, Nice Concept
on April 30, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I will start this out by saying in general I am a huge fan of Dyson products so of course the Dyson Zone Headphones with Air Purification immediately peaked my interest. I will admit that my interest was tinged in confusion and befuddlement on the need for headphones that provided your own personal air purification for most people (although I think if these had come out 2-3 years ago during the height of the global crisis it might have been coveted just based on the concerns many had). Like most Dyson products you always feel like you are about to experience the most innovative and luxe product, right down to the way it's packaged. This was absolutely true with these headphones also.
Setup was pretty straightforward and navigating the MyDyson app was simple even if you had never used it before for other Dyson products. I was definitely surprised by the weight of these headphones although it was apparent that there was some heft before I had even unboxed them. Even without the visor they are a little on the heavier side and at least for me makes extended time wearing them uncomfortable (after the 30-40 min mark it becomes a bit if a struggle for me to not want to take them off which is definitely a first for me when it comes to headphones). Weight aside, the noise cancellation is absolutely top notch in my opinion compared to many other over the ear headphones I have used. For me that is the most important aspect of any headphones I purchase offering noise cancellation...but almost feels like it should come secondary when considering this particular pair.
The feature that most would be focused on is obviously the air purification. The visor is interesting but definitely takes some getting used to. While it doesn't actually touch your face it is a different feel for someone using headphones. The ability to flip down the visor when needed is a great touch as well as the ability to choose not to use them at all...of course meaning you opt out of the air purification feature. Yes, I can say the feature seemed to provide me with fresher air than what was surrounding me but I can't say I have tested them in an environment that would truly make me feel like I NEEDED it (I guess the pollution on my city streets just don't fit the level I would personally need to experience to want to constantly use it) although I feel like it might be amazing for people that experience allergy issues in my area during the height of pollen season (unfortunately I couldn't really test that theory out since the pollen count has been extremely low since I received these). I do have to mention that there is noticeable noise emitted when the feature is being used. It's not overbearing and probably wouldn't bother most users but if you are sensitive it may be an annoyance.
Overall, I can see where these will be a great option for someone that REALLY needs and would benefit from the air purification based on their exposure but if you know you aren't likely to utilize the feature on almost every use you might be dropping a lot of cash on what would be the equivalent of a pair of great noise canceling headphones. As much as I love the power of the noise canceling I wouldn't invest in these based solely on that. But if I were in a much more polluted area regularly or felt like I would (and could) use these on frequent flights without issue (this I am not yet sure if that would be allowed or if it would be something that may be an issue depending on the airline and the way they view it) then I could see it being a nice investment for some peace of mind.

Great Option!
on April 20, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I have owned a few robot vacuums from various brands but I was still excited to give the Ecovacs Robotics Deebot T9+ Vacuum and Mop Robot. I owned a different model from Ecovacs that was decent but didn't quite perform as well as some of the others I have owned from different brands but to be fair it was a more base model. This one seems to check off most if not all of my household needs in one machine.
Setup was fairly simple and the Ecovacs smartphone app was easy to navigate even if I weren't already familiar with it. I did notice great improvements to the mapping system compared to the older model that I own. This is always a plus in robot vacuums, especially if you have a home with quite a few obstacles like mine lol. Having an auto empty station is an absolute must and this one has a fairly generous dust bag capacity. Performance wise this does a great job on my hard surfaces as well as the carpeted areas when vacuuming which is expected and the mopping feature is more than adequate. I wouldn't say that it means I no longer have to do a true manual mopping of my home ever so often but it does get the job done satisfactorily. The air freshener is a pleasant plus that I worried would be more gimmick than functional but it really is a nice touch.
The only negative I have noticed so far is with the mopping feature. While like I said it does a satisfactory job while mopping I would have expected it to be a bit less tedious with needing to switch the plates versus it being able to both coexist. It's not a huge deal or dealbreaker...but I have used others that better fit my expectations.

RevAir is designed to dry, stretch, smooth, and lengthen all hair types in less than half the time of traditional blow dryer / flat iron combinations. (Yes, we did say HALF the time.) Our patented technology dries hair in the natural direction of the cuticle (downward) to lock out frizz and seal in shine. And since it uses low heat, it won’t burn up your hair either. Faster, easier, healthier styling? Yes, please!

Not the best for my needs
on April 19, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I know the first thing come may notice is that I gave the RevAir Reverse Hair Dryer a somewhat low rating and assume that automatically means I must find it to be a bad product. It's not BUT for my hair and my needs it is definitely not a top pick. I wanted to clear that up immediately because I know the rating would be a little concerning to me.
I was instantly intrigued by the possibilities of this machine, especially since it said it works well for coily and kinky hair as well as what is traditionally described as curly. I am always looking for the best options to safely dry my natural "ethnic" hair that is an interesting mix of corkscrew curly and coily without causing any heat damage and will allow my blowout to last through the humidity until my next weekly wash. I was surprised by the size of this device. If you don't have a lot of space to store this or even to use it in a decently sized are with counter space this may be the first obstacle you face. Not exactly a deal breaker but worth consideration and mentioning. Setup and use was fairly simple. As far as how it performs...it does do the main job of drying my hair fine. Not as smoothly as using a traditional dryer and paddle brush which would make my flat iron step much faster and healthier because I can use the lowest setting so that did make this something I wouldn't choose to use often except for times where I plan to forego flat ironing and choose to style my hair in a different way such as braids or twists. For those with similar hair (primarily 4b-4c) this may actually be a good thing if you are the type that doesn't want a smoother finished look or tend to avoid additional heat tools like irons. Which is why I stressed in the beginning that this wasn't a bad device it rated lower because of how it fits my needs.
Would I recommend investing in this? Depending on your styling habits and needs, yes. But if you are like me and want the smoothest blowout that allows me to use my iron for completing my style (and guarantees I don't have to use the iron again until my next wash session in my humid area) then it may not be the best option.

Decent Option

Unlike many that will review the Bowers & Wilkins Pi5 S2 True Wireless Noise Canceling In-Ear Earbuds I am not an audiophile. Because of this, if you are looking for a super technical review you won’t find what you are looking for with me. I am a music lover that knows and appreciates what sounds good to me and makes the content I am listening to sound its absolute best.
I have tried a lot of earbuds that come with lofty claims of offering the best of everything so I always start out with some healthy skepticism. These earbuds definitely impressed me more than expected. I expected comfort to be on the low side after long use based on similar shaped options I have tried but was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they remained after long sessions.
Sound quality was perfect. I listened to various genres of music and was impressed with the consistently rich sound I experienced. It was also great with older music that tends to sound like it’s a lower quality file. Phone calls also sounded clear with no complaints from callers.
Noise canceling was pretty good for wireless in-ear earbuds although I wouldn’t say it is the best I have experienced with in-ear options. But for the average user you won’t be disappointed unless you want to compare it to over the war options (which is NOT a fair comparison).
Overall, this is a great option to try if you want some quality noise canceling in-ear earbuds. The price may be a deterrent for some since there are definitely some decent options available at a lower price tag but I don’t think the price is too absurd. That’s definitely a subjective observance though.

If you’re looking for a basic iPhone 14 Pro Max case for a more affordable price and fun designs this is a good option. Absolutely no frills and maybe not the most protective other than protecting the body from scratches or soft low impact drops but it will do a decent job at providing basic safety. The plastic is thinner than a more expensive competitor option which is to be expected considering the price point. If you’re concerned about screen scratches I would recommend getting a screen protector…nothing fancy or expensive needed unless you have a history of being extremely accident prone. The lip of this case is almost flush with the phone so there is very little space keeping the screen a little separated from being placed face down on a surface….something that I would prefer even if this is a budget option. Time will tell if the plastic/rubber bumper around the sides will hold up well or if maintains it’s snug fit if you tend to take your case off occasionally but for now it seems promising.

LCD"s

I"ve heard that LCD"s after you"ve had them for awhile get "burn" marks on the screen, is this true?
I think the risk existed more in the past (especially on LCD monitors), but I think that it's pretty rare. Plasma's were more prone to it, but I think they are better now. They still run a risk but it's not as easy as it once was.
