The Dyson Corrale Straightener, now with a new Travel charging dock that folds to stow in your bag for an easier charging solution at home or on the go. The only straightener with flexing plates that shape around your hair, gathering it neatly together on each pass. This extra control means you can achieve the same style but with less heat, and therefore half the damage¹. It also means enhanced styling, for reduced frizz and fewer flyaways². The Dyson Corrale Straightener can be used corded, or cord-free to provide extra versatility and freedom while styling. Before using, charge your straightener to 100% to maximize performance.

Continues to be a nice option
on January 14, 2023
Posted by: KaeL
I'm pretty familiar with the Corrale and how it works having already owned one for a little over 2 years so I was curious if a newer one offered any updated benefits. Out of the box, the only immediate differences I noticed was the change in the charging dock. Previously you received a full sized dock with a heavy base and a hard sturdy plastic attachment that the iron would lean on. With this one and I believe all of the newer ones you get the new travel dock which is more compact (it folds close) and not nearly as heavy and sturdy as the original. It appears to be made out of mostly plastic material but as the name suggests would be perfect for traveling.
As far as actual performance...so far it performs pretty much like the original one I own. It continues to offer the same 3 heat temperatures of 330/365/410 degrees. It heats up quickly as expected and glides effortlessly through my hair straightening in a single pass (assuming I don't get too ambitious and try to work on a section that is too big/thick) without causing the dreaded burning hair smell that I can experience with other irons using the same amount of product and keeping the temperature at comparable levels. This has always been one of the reasons I enjoy using this iron over others to smooth my natural textured hair. Relying on my memory of battery life when I initially got the original iron I will say that it seems to be the same. I can comfortably complete my straightening process without the battery dying. It will take time for me to really say if battery life is more improved on this one over my original which after 2 years still works well but as expected the battery drains a bit quicker now and I may have to let it sit on the dock a bit longer to get a bit more charge near the end of my process. This is not a shock for a cordless device that is used fairly regularly over the 2+ years but would be nice if this one can do a little better over time. Every since Dyson first released the Corrale I have noticed a lot of unrealistic expectations about battery life where people are expecting the battery to last as if it were a traditional corded iron because of the price. This is asking for a lot and just doesn't make sense. To the best of my knowledge there isn't a comparable full sized cordless rechargeable straightener with a better battery life even today so you have to set your expectations for that in a more realistic manner. It would be great if the battery could last an hour but it might just be asking for too much without needing some major changes that may not be wanted. I personally opt to use it without the cord opting instead to place it on the dock to charge between passes. Because the cord continues to be the magnetic type it just ends up being too easy to accidentally knock the cord off while using so I just opt not to. But if you want to extend your battery time using it corded in hybrid mode may be your best option.
Weight-wise, this one seems to be about the same in my hand (I don't see any info on the box or the pamphlet that states a difference so I can't really confirm or deny any changes). The Corrale is definitely a bit heavier than some may be used to with their irons but it is not a weight that will realistically cause the user to feel fatigue or anything during use. I don't experience any tugging or catching of any of my hair when using (although I am used to how to use this and am aware that the urge to clamp the plates down when gliding like we may do with some other irons isn't required at all. And I don't miss out on having a higher temp option like I would on other irons. This was a concern when I first got the original one but I quickly learned that hotter (even for my African American textured hair) doesn't mean better. Oh, and of course, the little tab you can use to make your iron flight compliant remains so for most places you may fly to you can take your iron along for the trip.
Overall, I still feel that the Corrale is a great option as long as you have realistic expectations. It is definitely an investment so if the price tag makes you a little nervous I would suggest getting an extended warranty if you can just to give you a little peace of mind. The 2 year warranty is excellent. I would prefer that Dyson went back to providing a full sized dock with the travel dock as an additional accessory included or purchasable if needed as I do have some concerns that the travel dock is much easier to break thanks to it's cheaper materials and somewhat flimsy feel but at least you know you will have the warranty to cover if it does happen to break.

Great Option

I've been testing this out for the past 6 weeks but full disclosure..I had previously been using the original version of this one that did not come with the attachment so I wasn’t starting out from scratch (although it had been awhile since I had used that one). First I'll speak on actual use...
The longest part of each treatment isn't the actual use of the IPL system...it's the prep. You have to thoroughly shave the areas you plan to use this prior to each treatment. The actual treatment time literally takes less than 10 minutes for me (full legs, upper lip, and chin area). It's a virtually painless experience. At most in the beginning I felt little hot zaps (not a burning sensation but just a quick flash of warmth). After the first treatment you notice it less because you know what to expect. I occasionally noticed a slight tingling sensation that would subside after a few minutes but nothing lingering and nothing painful. I also did not experience any redness or irritation after treatments. After reading the booklet in it's entirety I did have some concerns but if you follow the directions completely and don't try to skip steps you should be fine. Also make sure you do the test patch as advised 24 hours in advance of you first use to make sure your skin reacts well. For anyone with concerns of if it will work for your skin coloring, thankfully this system makes it foolproof. It will not fire any IPL lights if the area is too dark (which may be frustrating to WOC with the deeper coloring or for people with darker areas such as underarms which at times can mean a lot of adjusting to try and get it to fire). I am not at the darkest coloring shown but do have some difficulty at times. I’ll go back to this in a moment. The sensors also automatically adjust the light level based on the coloring of the area so you don't have to wonder if you are using the right strength.
A little about my original experience (both units are virtually identical so my original experience continues to be valid)....
The booklet suggests that most will see noticeable results in as little as 4 treatments but this isn't to be confused with complete hair removal within that time. By the time I got to the 4th treatment I could honestly say that I noticed less hair growing back but I knew I wasn't remotely close to the results I was hoping to experience. This let me know that this is a treatment that you have to have patience and consistency with.
My experience with this particular unit since I was already at a point where my hair growth was significantly less and slower than it was prior to using the old unit…
Because I was starting from a point where I had virtually stopped the upkeep process I continued to have hair growth but significantly less at a much slower rate. This means for me prep time is a lot quicker but the same principles apply. Shave first and then do your treatment. With the addition of the attachment that lets you do a more targeted treatment I found that it helps to use it when you’re dealing with difficult detection areas or places that make it a little tricky to get good skin contact (such as shins, underarms, upper lip). I also noticed a little less feeling of the zap when the attachment is used (particularly underarms and upper lip where the zap may feel a bit more intense that other areas). If it’s an area where you notice more difficult detection just adjust the angle and apply more pressure to get better skin contact. Otherwise everything else is the same as the original unit.
The only negative I continue to see is that for those with deeper skin coloring may not be served with this. Also, for areas on your body that may have darker coloring from prior shaving (such as underarms) may be difficult or impossible so for some individuals this may be frustrating because you won't be able to achieve the same results everywhere you would like to. For that situation a different system that will work for all skin colorings may be a better option. But overall, I feel like this is a good option for anyone wanting to achieve smooth, hair-free skin for extended periods. You absolutely have to be consistent in your use or you will think it doesn’t work. For some people or maybe some areas you may not ever achieve 100% hair removal for months in between treatments once you reach the maintenance phase. But you should absolutely reach a point where you will not need to shave as often and when you do it will be very minimal. That alone may be worth it for those that find themselves shaving daily or several times a week.
I also want to reiterate that this unit is virtually the same as the original one. So if you own that one and it still works as expected it isn’t worth it to buy this one. You are literally only getting the benefit of a small attachment that sticks on with a magnet.

Great EV Charger Option

I had been getting by with a super basic ev charger by a different brand that I received when I purchased my car but knew I wanted something with a little more features. Enter the Wallbox Pulsat Level 2 Electric Vehicle Smart Charger. Installation was super simple…pretty much a plug and play situation where all I had to do was remove my original charger and quickly install the mount for the Wallbox which again was quick and easy. After downloading the app and setting up my login I was able to setup the connection to my WiFi and complete the firmware update. Setting up my charging schedule was relatively simple which was a much needed respite to my experience with my old charger whose scheduling feature never properly worked nor could I get any help from their customer support. It offers other smart features that I don’t currently need and may never use but it’s nice to know the options are there. The actual charging is has been excellent for me, especially compared to the time it took with my old unit. Overall I am extremely happy with this charger and will definitely be adding a second one to the mix.

Decent Option

I'm usually not impressed with most of these protection services as they seem to be tedious, somewhat intrusive, and just a hassle to deal with...especially when the coverage is about to end. So normally when McAfee comes with a PC I don't use it. This was the first time in a long time that I went through the process and really tried things out. I do like that this lets you use it on unlimited devices considering the massive number of eligible devices I have in my household, both Windows based and iOS. I think we have a couple of Chrome devices also but haven't added those yet. I installed on a Windows laptop and desktop, a MacBook Pro, and 4 iOS phones so far. Installation was fairly simple on all platforms. I was able to remember an old McAfee account that I had so I didn't have to go through the process of creating an account (a necessary evil with just about everything now). I will say that I noticed a little slowdown on my Windows devices but honestly, that seems to be the norm when adding anything from my experience so I can't say this is a deal breaking negative with McAfee. My iOS devices showed no slowdown or issues. The features offered by McAfee appear to be on par with another brand that I recently tried but McAfee gets a little bit of an edge with the ability to use on unlimited devices versus capping at 3 devices. Where the other brand edges out McAfee is in the way that their identity monitoring feature works. The McAfee one is helpful but more on the generic side where it gives you just enough info to tell you that certain things may be at risk but doesn't offer much in assistance with trying to correct other than some very general tips. This is something I likely wouldn't have noticed if I had not tried one that was a bit more in depth and helpful so for a lot of users this won't be a negative. This will also be appealing for those that have the need for unlimited VPN access. Time will only tell if I find this software beneficial enough to renew the subscription but it's already clear that if you want access to the full abilities McAfee offers you need to be prepared to pay a bit more than this subscription charges. For a large majority of users though I think this will be sufficient and in some ways more than adequate enough to fit their needs.

I usually opt for the non-glass screen protectors since I have had bad experiences in the past with using glass protectors so I went into this cautiously. Thankfully this was super easy to install just by filling the instructions and using the included wet wipe, dry wipe (both to clean the screen properly in order to prep for installation) as well as the installation tray making accurate installation a breeze. After install I immediately checked to make sure the feel of the screen as well as touch reaction worked seamlessly and thanfully it does. So far all has worked as expected. I’m generally pretty careful with my devices so it’s rare for me to have any serious issues such screen breakage. I did accidentally put this screen protector to work after randomly dropping my phone face down when I was getting out of the car. My case had some minor surface damage after falling go the concrete but my screen was in perfect condition. I’m pretty impressed with the performance so far but let’s hope it continues to live up to expectations.

This was a relatively easy to install software although it did take awhile for everything to install on my computer. Once everything was installed it was pretty easy to set everything up and start seeing the benefits. It immediately gave me helpful dark web alerts and tips to address it for better protection even with only giving minimum information. If you feel confident going full in you have the option of having all sorts of info checked to make sure it isn’t out there on the dark web such as credit card numbers, your various email addresses and phone numbers as well as current and past home addresses. There are more add-ons you can tack on if you want to pay a little more but none are a requirement. The actual Norton part of the software works as expected with ease. Unlike some other options I have used in the past this one’s does not seem to be intrusive with a ton of pop-ups as soon as you power on the computer. There are still features I need to try to get the full effect of this bundle but it definitely appears to be a great one worth trying

This is a decent option as well as budget friendly for protecting your iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s a pretty simple one-piece design that pops on your phone with ease and fits snugly without being difficult to remove. It has a relatively slim fit so it doesn’t really add a lot of bulk to your device. It somewhat reminds me of a line from a popular and much more expensive brand, just slightly thinner material surrounding the sides. Time will tell if the nice snug fit will remain in tact with use and removal but it’s possible it will loosen a bit over time. This has been true in my experience with any case of a similar build so if you’re someone that constantly takes their case off and puts it back on you should keep this in mind Protection wise I feel like this gives decent coverage. Simple drops should be absorbed well but this is always dependent on angle/surface. If you tend ti be pretty aggressive with your devices and have a lot of drops you might want to opt for something more rugged but otherwise this may be a great choice for you.

Fun Option
on November 2, 2022
Posted by: KaeL
This is one is those things you get more for fun than actual functionality and that’s absolutely fine! These were relatively easy to set up. You should be forewarned that you will definitely need more panels in order to really see the full potential of these lights. This starter combo pack only comes with 6 panels (1 main which acts as the brains of the setup and 5 additional panels to round it out). They snap together with attachment piece and you can have virtually infinite layout options. The app is pretty easy to navigate and use. I really liked the option to draw whatever you would like on the panel but again…to really get the full benefit of that or the option to upload your own image you’re really going to need more panels to be able to see it best. For some people that alone will be a deterrent but if you want to do it right that’s what you’re going to need to do. But if you don’t want anything to elaborate or detailed and just want to have a fun piece of wall art then the starter pack will be just fine. Ultimately I feel like this has some great potential. Is it a need? No. But is it something you can have a lot of fun with? Absolutely!

Good Option for some.

I am NOT a hair person so any tool that comes along meant to make dealing with my hair an easier task I am more than willing to give it a try. This is similar to another popular brand on the market but it has less attachments. This is definitely not a bad thing unless you need the other attachments to achieve the look you are hoping for. The instructions for this one is pretty straightforward and simple, even for someone like me. The smoothing brush attachment does an okay job smoothing my hair texture but I immediately knew I would have to add one more tool to this setup to accommodate my natural hair texture and get the smoothness I need to avoid any additional heat in my hair after completing the process until my next hair wash. So I did have to use a flat iron to truly smooth my hair out. Also, because of the texture of my hair (which many women of color may be in the same boat) the idea of leaving hair not completely dry to use the curling attachment isn’t realistic as my hair would not hold up 5 minutes after walking out of the door if I tried that and my hair would become a huge poofy mess. Using a small amount of setting spray on each section before using the curling attachment is what works for me. It’s a bit of a learning curve if you haven’t used the similar version but ultimately this works well enough. It won’t give you the same curls you could achieve with an actual curling iron but it will give you nice, soft waves to curls (smaller sections of hair to achieve more curl, bigger section to achieve soft waves). For some hair types this will be an excellent addition to their routine. For myself, it’s good if you have the additional time and if using the safer heat option for your hair to try and maintain hair health with less damage from heat. But ultimately I would probably opt for the flat iron and using it to create the curls I may want versus having to pull this set out regularly.

Who needs a coffee shop run?
on September 29, 2022
Posted by: KaeL
Because I have been impressed with everything Ninja that I own I expected no less for this. This is no different thankfully. While I enjoy my other brand machine and will continue to use it in my office, this one better fits my household overall needs. I wanted something that could let me make a full pot of coffee when several people wanted a cup versus having to take turns making a single cup with my other machine as well as giving me an at-home barista kind of feel. This definitely does that and to my joy, it not only uses pods but can use K-Cups also. And of course, you can use ground coffee as well. The frother is a nice addition although it's an afterthought for me and likely won't be something I use often (but I know it will get a lot of use by others in my house). Coffee tastes as expected and more importantly, you don't have a lot of grounds making it into your cup or the pot (something I have experienced with similar systems). The coffee stays hot for long periods without the flavor being compromised. And when trying out the different options I found that iced coffees and cappuccinos were amazing so ultimately, this will help cut down on pricey coffee shop runs when you can make what you want at home. This is definitely a nice addition to my kitchen and will get a lot of use by everyone!

Hello, Is it sim free version? If it is not, will it be available to preorder?

It comes pre-installed with a SIM card but can be used on other carriers. Even the one I received stated it would only accept Verizon SIM cards but I tested it with both my Verizon sim and a friend tried her AT&T SIM card in it. Worked with both fine.

there are little blue dots all over my screen on my sony lcd tv and a corner of the screen is solid blue
Perhaps it's bad pixels...if you are under warranty or have Best Buy's extended warranty then you may want to file a claim.

why cant i order a tv online

whenever i checkout it wont said delevery is not available. but that happens with every tv
It's possible that the tv's you are chosing are not in stock. Did you make sure that it was not somehow on the pick-up option and the store chosen was out of stock?
