awesome camera!

this camera is amazing.
the sharpness, the clarity, the colors, the handling, the capabilities. The weight, the size, all great.
I also have a sony a6000 so I was thinking i would be settling with less megapixels when I bought this, which I bought because I wanted more reach to get those birds in the trees... I am NOT settling, I am simply delighted! this camera is awesome.
I had to move to lightweight cameras because of carrying them around for hours, etc., and this fits that bill. At only 1 lb and 4 oz, the camera is very light with all that zoom. And not just zoom, but great detail :)
The battery life, too, is awesome. I took over 700 photos yesterday and my battery was still fine.
I highly recommend this camera! :) enjoy :)

Love it, Love it, Love it!!!

I have compared 4 Nikon SLR cameras and this one is the best, hands down! I am SO very happy I bought this camera.
The picture clarity is awesome!
Picture noise is not an issue! With the others it was an issue, but not with this one!
Easy to use!
This camera is SO LIGHTWEIGHT!
My lenses work better on this camera than they did on the previous models!
And this is so fun to use!
I am an avid nature photographer enthusiast and love taking shots of birds in flight. They come out clear!! Of course it takes work, but this camera makes it fun and when the day is done you have great pictures to show for your work.
I only use the manual settings and I am so pleased with how interactive they are. The display is easy to read and understand and also informative.
I am so pleased with this camera! I spent about a week with each camera, but after less than an hour with this one, I was totally sold.
And the battery life is great, too.
What's great about it: picture quality is awesome! the pictures are very clear. Easy to use, great battery life, and lightweight all around.
What's not so great: Nothing! I love this camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

this game was disappointing

I hate to be negative, but this game is not good on the DS system. On the PC, THE SIMS game is okay, because you see the people. On the DS however, you don't.. you see teeny weeny specs running around, AND they are not running around like on the PC in response to what YOU do, but because it is programmed to do that.. i.e., the railroad tracks I built had trains running on them, but there were NO people in my town. There were people on them, but the chart said I had no people.
I thought it would be a fun diversion, but there's really not much to it at all.
The graphics don't interpret well onto the DS system because of the size of the characters. I like to see the effects, but you can't because they are so very miniscule.
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: so many to list
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Typical of making something that is simple harder
By chuck from tulsa
My comment must sound ridiculous to most of you. I will be 65 very soon and literally have taken pictures my whole life. I starting shooting when I was about 6 years old with an old Kodak Brownie 620 camera. This is the camera that got the world taking pictures. It was completely basic. The most difficult thing was loading the film. As I got older, I started taking photography seriously. When I was in college, I found out that I could actually make spending money taking pictures and have been a semi professional photographer for almost 50 years. I have had work published in various magazines and papers, but never depended on it to put food on the table. It has been a wonderful hobby that I intend on enjoying as long as I am here. I don't want to bore you and hope that I haven't as yet, but I want to let you know a little about me as to help you understand my review a little better. I also collect cameras and have a plethora of different examples of different formats from the last 100 years. Photography is a very simple thing to understand. The basics are that for proper exposure it takes x amount of light for x amount of time. As the aperture increases in size, the time for correct exposure decreases proportionally. Other than focus, that is all of it. Pretty simple. Right? When I moved from the little 620 camera to the 110 and 126 cartridge cameras, everything was still automatic. My first real camera came as a teenager in the 60's and was fully manual. You set the aperture (f stop), focus, and shutter speed. It was very simple. Some of the early cameras didn't even have light meters so you either had a separate one or learned to guesstimate. As the computer age came, photography became a very competitive industry with new companies rising and falling by the wayside. When the first automatic slr's came out, most were aperture priority and were wonderful for the first time photographer. A lot of people were intimidated by the thought of 35mm photography and it gave the person a chance to take quality pictures while still learning to be a photographer. If they chose to just stay at that level, that was fine, too. I look at all the bells and whistles on today's cameras and think back at where I started and ask myself a couple questions that may sound kind of silly. Are these beginner cameras easier to use than back 50 years ago when I set everything myself? No, they aren't. Do they take better photos? No, they don't. Are they capable of confusing someone that likes to know everything about the equipment he or she is using? That is yes with a capital Y. As for this camera, It will do absolutely everything I want it to do. I know that I can mount a non dedicated flash on it and set it on manual with a shutter speed of 1/200 or less and the flash will sink for shooting sprint cars at night. Thank goodness that I had learned basic photography or I would have had to spend a fortune on a Nikon flash. My point is this. I think the digital era is wonderful, but it has far surpassed what the original purpose was. That was to simplify taking pictures and making it possible to send pictures via computers without scanning and doing away with film and processing. The quality of the photos are now equal to what can be done on film with 35mm and for $479 with two lenses, it is a real bargain. It will do more than I ever will need. I don't need to send a picture directly to someone from this camera. If it was that important, I would use the phone to take it. One last thing. There is so much emphasis put on megapixels today that they have surpassed the capability of the human eye. I can't foresee any occasion where I would benefit from having more. I have printed 11x14 inch prints that were studio quality. I recently had surgery in both eyes and know my vision has never been sharper. As a test, I have two HD TV's, both from Best Buy, lol. One is 1080 and the other 720 and I can't see a difference. Closing. Buy this camera. If you can get the kit, do it. The two lenses are worth that much alone. I seriously would encourage all of you that had the fortitude to have read through my ranting to put the camera on manual and explore some of the boundaries you have and not just use it like you would the camera on your phone. It won't take the place of a video camera but in short 10 minute scenes, it does great. Nothing else will shoot longer than 10 minutes either, so no reason to look. I hope this helps you. Have fun.

Thank you so much for your explanation! It was thorough (which was what I wanted to read, so I could really get a handle on whether this is the right camera for me). Thank you.
About the 110 you mentioned that you used to use, I think that was the best camera I ever had. And inexpensive! They cost 19 bucks for the camera and it came with a roll of film! What a great deal! AND they took great pictures, too. :)
I'm excited to be trying the Nikon 3100. I just don't really want more MP than the 14, but I needed the reassurance that it did a good job.
Thank you for your informative and entertaining explanation! :)
Happy Picture taking!

So far this lens has done what I wanted it to do.
By Travelingphotographer from Greeley, CO
I have wanted a fish-eye lens for years and years but thought I could never afford it. I was finally able to afford it and didn't hesitate getting this one. Getting used to it is not negative, it will just take some time to learn all the ins and outs, especially getting those wonderful fish-eye photographs. I've read some revies about the hood interfering with the corners of the picture. I've learned that's not particularly true. The picture I've included doesn't show any black corners; I just need to remember how I did that. Don't let that throw you from getting this lens or any other fish-eye. It's all a learning process.

When the B700 is shooting video in Ultra HD (4K) is there is a extra crop factor of 1.45x to come to 1:1 pixel mapping matching the 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution, or does it interpolate the B700's full 20mp sensor readout {5184 x 3888} to arrive at 4k?

good question. I think that Nikon could best answer that. I know that i got a great video yesterday.

What is the battery life like?

I shot over 700 photos yesterday and this is still going strong. I have it set for shutting off after one minute and I'm thinking that makes the difference. I had a second battery with me just in case, but didn't need it. Pretty awesome, I'd say :)

Which GPS can use multiple locations and give the quickest route to hit them all. With a memory of at least 50 destinations in the memory.

I think your best bet is to research the ones your interested in to see if you like them and if they have the memory capability you seek.

Depending on your brand preferences, price range, etc.
Best Buy says this about TomTom Start 50 which sounds intriguing:
"Up to 7 million points of interest guide you toward interesting and useful destinations." 7 million! Sounds very intriguing!

You can ask your Best Buy Salesperson for help in that matter, they are very knowledgeable about their products.
